All I did was edit the clip to provide the maximum viewing experience of this incredible, final scene of the movie. I hope everyone continues to enjoy the clip for the magical piece of movie-making that it is, thanks to the talents of actor, Tom Hanks; musician, Hans Zimmer; and Director, Ron Howard. © 2012 Sony Pictures Digital Inc. All Rights Reserved.
'The Da Vinci Code', released May 19, 2006 by Columbia Pictures, is based on the book, 'The Da Vinci Code', by Dan Brown. Screenplay by Akiva Goldsman. Music, including the beautiful track, featured here in the final scene, 'Chevaliers de Sangreal', by Hans Zimmer. Director, Ron Howard.
Many of you have already commented on the brilliant work of musician, Hans Zimmer, and actor, Tom Hanks in this final scene. Let's not forget the talented work of Ron Howard, the Director. I'm inclined to believe, myself, that these three are the perfect combination for movie-making: Tom Hanks, Hans Zimmer, and Ron Howard (also Director of 'The Grinch', starring Jim Carrey; and 'Ritchie Cunningham' from 'Happy Days').
Additional information on the movie, 'The Da Vinci Code' available at: en.wikipedia.or... and: www.imdb.com/ti...
and on the Soundtrack, is available at: en.wikipedia.or...
I was browsing for any additional information on the music,'Chevaliers de Sangreal' and came across this page: www.filmtracks.... "...I wasn't really paying attention. But when Track 13 began, I literally stopped what I was doing and just sat mesmorized and moved. That one track captures so much history, so much emotion, so much power and integrity. Hans, another fine job." Author unkown.

Hans Zimmer doesn't write music. He doesn't write a film score. He creates an atmosphere. This scene is so powerful because Hanks portrays so much with no dialogue, and Zimmer pounds your emotions, lifting them up to match those of Hanks' character. Genius.

This is how the book describes this scene:
"With a sudden upwelling of reverence, Robert Langdon fell to his knees.
For a moment, he thought he heard a woman's voice…the wisdom of the ages…whispering up from the chasms of the earth."
What's so cool about the soundtrack of the move version is that right at the moment that he decides to kneel, you actually hear the (female) vocals for the first time too! Amazingly done.

This scene's power comes from being the most intimate of all the MOVIE CLIMAXES, all the others are EXTERNAL and the last one is INTERNAL. The FIRST climax is when Silas is killed, the Bishop is silenced, and the Cop realizes he's been tricked. The SECOND climax happens when Sophie discovers her real identity and the audience is given two breadcrumbs - Sophie's grandfather died and the resting place of Mary is LOST FOREVER and she mocks Tom Hanks, "and maybe you are a Knight on a Grail Quest." So when Tom Hanks follows the SIGN and on INSTINCT, discovers the true resting place of the Holy Grail, it is SUCH a POWERFUL CATHARTIC RELEASE for the audience, exploding in our souls and minds with such force....And Tom Hanks realizes his OWN IDENTITY.....He gets to know the answer to the question, WHO AM I.....and upon this realization, he kneels in HONOR of Mary, but also he Accepts that he is a KNIGHT sworn by duty and oath....And the MUSIC......escalates this into such a POWERFUL ENDING....that very few films have ever achieved in HISTORY...BRAVO to Ron Howard, his team, and everyone involved in creating one of the most special ENDINGS we've seen..........

No Man. I'm actually in years too.
I'm from Brazil, a country that was "colonized" by the Templars, 523 years ago, a detail that a few people they n my country knows.
Things here in Brazil are Very rough this days, corruption and lies from our govmnerment are spreading fast in my dear land and not being confronted and not being judged. We lost hope to Republic, that exists since 1889 and my people are lost, they don't know where to Go now, they are lost because they truly don't know about its true History and Culture, they don't know we were molded by the Portuguese Trmplars itselves, that we were a powerful, feared, loved and respected Empire )11822-1889), we faced many wars - phisically and diplomatic - and we won, one of our great achievements was defeating the powerful England itself, The Brazilian Empire - metaphorically - put Queen Victoria in her kness towards our great Emperor D. Pedro II (Second).
My people doesn't know that they inhereted this fighting spirit and sense of justice because of the Templars. It's so sad and frustrating! But thank God the truth us cominho back, we are awakening and once everyone awakes we'll stablish the thing that God was trying to show us through all this years, the only thing that worked in my country: The Empire of Brazi.
Irmãos, é nosso dever, continuar o legado dos Templários e de Deus, voltar para onde nunca deveríamos ter saído. No topo do mundo! Para perto de Deus!

Well the Magdalen was real, and we Christians Love Her forever. As was Christ. But this film is pure fiction. He was put to death during the Governorship of Pilate at the behest of the Sanhedrin. Archeologists long thought Pilate was pure fiction, until a few years ago they unearthed a marble stairway in Jerusalem and there at the end of it was a plaque with Pilate's name clearly inscribed. Don't believe me? Google it. A few years after the execution of Christ he was "recalled to Rome". That was a famous phrase even at the time. It meant the Emperor (Tiberius) was unhappy with you. He went to Rome and was never heard from again. He dropped off the pages of history at that point.

  • @sethrigdon17
    @sethrigdon17 6 лет назад +288

Very few movies have endings as humbling as this. It’s simple while at the same time being deeply moving and full of meaning. Personally I think the ending signifies a person’s life. We struggle every day to find answers to questions about ourselves and our purpose in life. It’s always full of disappointments that leave us feeling just empty sometimes. Unsatisfied. But then something happens when you least expect it. An epiphany, a sudden realization. And you find that what you’ve searched so long and hard for is actually closer than you realize. You find the truth. And learning the truth can be a very humbling thing. And like the movie’s ending, sometimes the truth is powerful enough to bring someone to their knees. It’s why I love this movie so much. Langdon kneels not just out of respect like a knight would to his king or queen, he does so because he realizes a truth about himself. Hands down one of my absolute favorite endings.

This ending is exactly as the late priory grandmaster Jacques Saunière intended and wanted with his last breath. He knew that only Robert would be able figure it out and that he would understand how important it was to keep the secret alive. It is in this moment a now aware Robert fully completes the task of discovering the truth that Saunière posthumously had charged him with. This is where bows to the weight of the shocking knowledge that he knows that only he now possesses and he kneels in service as a knight who must guard it.

The Pouring Out Of The Spirit.
      1. AND as the disciples were gathered together in the upper room when they returned from the Mount, they all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, and their number was about one hundred and twenty.
      2. And in that day James stood up and said; Men and brethren, it is known unto you how the Lord, before he left us, chose Peter to preside over us and watch over us in his Name; and how it must needs be that one of those who have been with us and a witness to his resurrection be chosen and appointed to take his place.
      3. And they chose two called Barsabas and Matthias, and they prayed and said, Thou lord, who knowest the hearts of all men, shew which of these two thou hast chosen to take part in this Apostleship from which thou dost raise thy servant Peter to preside over us.
      4. And they gave forth their lots, and the lot fell upon Matthias, and the Twelve received him, and he was numbered among the Apostles.
      5. Then John and James separated Peter from their number by laying on of hands, that he might preside over them in the Name of the Lord, saying, Brother be thou as a hewn stone, sixsquared. Even thou, Petros, which art Petra, bearing witness to the Truth on every side.
      6. And to the Apostles were given staves to guide their steps in the ways of truth, and crowns of glory withal; and to the Prophets burning lamps to shew light on the path and censers with fire; and to the Evangelists the book of the holy law to recall the people to the first principles; and to the Pastors were given the cup and platter to feed and nourish the flock.
      7. But to none was given aught that was not given to all, for all were one priesthood under the Christ as their Master Great High Priest in the Temple of God; and to the Deacons were given baskets that they might carry therein the things needful for the holy worship. And the number was about one hundred and twenty, Peter presiding over them.
      8. AND when the third day had fully come they were all with one accord in the one place, and as they prayed there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and the room in which they were assembled was shaken, and it filled the place.
      9. And there appeared cloven tongues of flame like fire, and sat upon the head of each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance. And Peter stood up and preached the Law of Christ unto the multitude of all nations and tongues who were gathered together by the report of what had been seen and heard, each man hearing in his own tongue wherein he was born.
      10. And of them that listened there were gathered unto the Church that day, three thousand souls, and they received the Holy Law, repented of their sins, and were baptized and continued stedfastly in the Apostles’ fellowship and worship, and the Oblation and prayers.
      11. And they who believed gave up their possessions, and had all things in common and abode together in one place, shewing the love and the goodness of God to their brothers and sisters and to all creatures, and working with their hands for the common weal.
      12. And from these there were called twelve to be Prophets with the Apostles, and twelve to be Evangelists and twelve to be Pastors, and their Helps were added unto them, and Deacons of the Church Universal, and they numbered one hundred and twenty. And thus was the Tabernacle of David set up, with living men filled with goodness, even as the Master had shewn unto them.
      13. And to the Church in Jerusalem was given James the Lord’s brother for its president and Angel, and under him four and twenty priests in a fourfold ministry, and helpers and deacons also. And after six days many came together, and there were added six thousand men and women who received the holy Law of Love, and they received the word with gladness.
      14. AND as they gathered together on the Lord’s Day after the Sabbath was past, and were offering the holy Oblation, they missed Mary and Joseph, the parents of Jesus. And they made search but found them not.
      15. And some of them said, Surely the Lord hath taken them away, as he did Magdalene. And they were filled with awe, and sung praises to God.
      16. And the Spirit of God came upon the Apostles and the Prophets with them and, remembering what the Lord had taught them, with one voice they confessed and praised God, saying.
      17. We believe in One God: the Infinite, the Secret Fount, the Eternal Parent: Of Whom are all things invisible and visible. The ALL in all, through all around all. The holy Twain, in whom all things consist; Who hath been, Who is, Who shall be.
      18. We believe in one Lord our Lady, the perfect holy Christ: God of God, Light of light begotten. Our Lord, the Father, Spouse and Son. Our Lady, the Mother, Bride and Daughter. Three Modes in one Essence undivided: One Biune Trinity. That God may be manifest as the Father, Spouse and Son of every soul: and that every soul may be perfected as the Mother, Bride and Daughter of God
      19. And this by ascent of the soul into the spirit and the descent of the spirit into the soul. Who cometh from heaven, and is incarnate of the Virgin ever blessed, in Jesu-Maria and every Christ of God: and is born and teacheth the way of life and suffereth under the world rulers, and is crucified, and is buried and descendeth into Hell. Who riseth again and ascendeth into glory; from thence giving light and life to all.
      20. We believe in the Sevenfold Spirit of God, the Life-Giver: Who proceedeth from the holy Twain. Who cometh upon Jesu-Maria and all that are faithful to the light within: Who dwelleth in the Church, the Israel elect of God. Who cometh ever into the world and lighteth every soul that seeks. Who giveth the Law which judgeth the living and the dead, Who speaketh by the Prophets of every age and clime.
      21. We believe in One Holy Universal and Apostolic Church: the Witness to all truth, the Receiver and Giver of the same. Begotten of the Spirit and Fire of God: Nourished by the waters, seeds and fruits of earth. Who by the Spirit of Life, her twelve Books and Sacraments, her holy words and works: knitteth together the elect in one mystical communion and atoneth humanity with God. Making us partakers of the Divine Life and Substance: betokening the same in holy Symbols.
      22. And we look for the coming of the Universal Christ: and the Kingdom of Heaven wherein dwelleth righteousness. And the holy City whose gates are Twelve: wherein are the Temple and Altar of God. Whence proceed three Orders in fourfold ministry: to teach all truth and offer the daily sacrifice of praise.
      23. As in the inner so in the outer: as in the great so in the small. As above, so below: as in heaven so in earth. We believe in the Purification of the soul: through many births and experiences. The Resurrection from the dead: and the Life everlasting of the just. The Ages of Ages: and Rest in God for ever.-Amun.
      24. And as the smoke of the incense arose, there was heard the sound as of many bells, and a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying:
      25. Glory, honour, praise and worship be to God; the Father,, Spouse, and Son: One with the Mother, Bride and Maid: From Whom proceedeth the Eternal Spirit: By whom are all created things. From the Ages of Ages. Now: and to the Ages of Ages-Amun-Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia.
      26. And if any man take from, or add, to the words of this Gospel, or hide, as under a bushel, the light thereof, which is given by the Spirit through us, the twelve witnesses chosen of God, for the enlightenment of the world unto salvation: Let him be Anathema Maranatha, until the coming of Christ Jesu-Maria, our Saviour, with all the Holy Saints.
      27. For them that believe, these things are true. For them that believe not, they are as an idle tale. But to those with perceiving minds and hearts, regarding the spirit rather than the letter which killeth, they are spiritual verities.
      28. For the things that are written are true, not because they are written, but rather they are written because they are true, and these are written that ye may believe with your hearts, and proclaim with your mouths to the salvation of many. Amen.

I loved this movie - I know the ideas behind it get laughed at by scholars (and I understand why) - but it's a thrilling ride and Tom Hanks and Audrey Tautou were awesome. They didn't muddy it up with a soppy romance - they were on a mission and it was a lovely and moving end. (Plus I like the female-positive message behind it).

Well who knows what is the truth. But this end scene is beautiful. And speaking as a Christian we do Love and revere the Magdalen. Christ clearly Loved her. So we do too. But the idea that She was His Wife and had babies with Him is just ridiculous. There is no evidence for that. But of course there is no evidence to the opposite. But what there is evidence for, at least by Roman commentators at the time is that Christ was put to death on the Cross by the Governor Pilate at the behest of the Jewish elders - the Sanhedrin. He was regarded by the Roman commentators of the day as an agitator, a trouble maker, telling the folks not to pay the Roman Tax. Pilates only job in Palestine at the time was to keep the peace and keep the taxes flowing to Rome. For a long time archeologists thought Pilate was pure fiction. Then a few years ago they unearthed a marble stairway, at the bottom of which they found a plaque inscribed - "Pontius Pilate". End of Story.

maybe mortality is the way to divinity? Maybe they complement each other? What did our lord had to do before he was ascended to the heavens? He had to die in the cross, DIE after living like a natural mortal man with everything that implies, therefor maybe just maybe one cannot reach eternity without complementing it before with the experience of a natural mortal life, VERITAS VOS LIBERABIT god bless!!

you are right about saying Jesus (peace be upon him) existed and he was not the son of God, can you imagine God, the almighty, all powerful need a son? exalted He is, God doesnt need anything so this doesnt make sense, as a muslim i believe Jesus is a prophet, a messenger sent by Allah yet a human, a creation of Allah and this makes perfect sense.
and about evolution, evolution is not a basic subject to just say like some people "human kind comes from ape" darwin didnt even mention that as far as i know, evolution may have right and wrongs and it doesnt condtradict with creation ( the creation mentioned in Qur'an atleast dont know about bible much) because all progressions in this life is a creation, for example you come from your mothers womb and there is a progression of your embryo so basically Allah makes/creates this progression and creates you, so all these progressions or physic laws etc are belongs to Allah, creation of Allah so He is the creator of everything and everything belongs to Him.

I was there, at the Louvre, and stood in the exact spot! And in the lower level, where the glass pyramid meets the stone (the blade and chalice). It was a soul-stirring visit, positively spiritual.
and P.S. the Mona Lisa exhibit at the Louvre is so overblown. The whole thing is only about 1' x 2' and you don't even get within 15 feet of it, and you are surrounded by about 500 people all trying to squeeze to the front to get that one great "selfie"

His hesitation before he chooses to kneel, and then his disbelief in himself as he gives in to the final posture of genuflection is such a beautiful moment. And the genius of Hans Zimmer transcends and transports, as always. Beautiful.

The last part before he kneels. You can actually feel that he is hesitating. Because the kneeling meant he is accepting himself as one of the knights templar and will carry this secret to his grave. The moment he kneeled and closed his eyes while he accepted his new duty, the music reaches its climax, magical!
    Great acting by Tom Hank!

If there is any movie scenes I'll remember its this! I've watched this movie around 15 times and I get goosebumps everytime I see the ending. Perhaps, just perhaps there is something to it? I mean if you start to think about all these mysteries, The Knights Templars, Priory of Sion, the missing link, and really all history that has something to do with our creation its really mind boggling. Then again its also extremely facinating and I hope we never do solve it since it makes people think and when we think we discover new things and the adventure will always continue. Its an ever lasting adventure and just thinking of that while listening to this extraordinary music really brings forth a very special/happy/facinating mood.

Thank you for posting this. I saw Da Vinci Code in the cinema when it was released and cried during this entire closing sequence.
I've had the privilege of visiting The Louvre, Temple Church and Rosslyn Chapel.
I finally saw Poussin's "The Arcadian Shepherds" (the later version) on my third visit to The Louvre. It had been loaned to other Galleries on my previous 2 visits.
There are so many places in the world that have fascinating and intriguing connections to Freemasonry, The Order of The Temple and Priory of Sion, but I would particularly recommend that you research London, Paris and Edinburgh.
Thank you again for posting this video, and my humble thanks to anyone who's taken the time to read my humble offering here.

Traurig machen mich 2 Dinge.

"Like the murmurs of spirits in the darkness, forgotten words echoed. The quest for the Holy Grail is the quest to kneel before the bones of Mary Magdalene. A journey to pray at the feet of the outcast one."
These lines marked the superb ending of the book. Zimmer beautifully decorated it with his elevating melody. Wow !

It is more about absolute love. Whether you believe in God or not, God gave us this inherent ability to feel a sensation, that when felt, rises above any other emotion or desire. It separates us from other life and gives us the power to feel. This music is uplifting and starts us on that climb.
