Loved the video I'm thinking of beginning my own polishing and detailing business over in Scotland and your videos give me fantastic helpful hints and tips to how the way I polish metals can be improved and give my future customers show shine for everyday work like I do with my own truck thank you for the great videos

Yes, it is way too fast. Most buffs are rated for 3,500 rpm. Lots of us spin them at 6,000 rpm but it is super dangerous if it blows out. I know guys that lost fingers and broke wrists.
Got a quick question! I see you use the maverick line, I'm new to polishing aluminum not detailing though & was curious because your the first one I've seen use this particular line & not Zephyr like allot of other youtubers?
Thank you for the compliment and my reasoning is I use whatever I find works the best. Zephyr makes a fine product but I find other products to get me a better finish. But to each their own. Some other polishers find they get a better finish with other products as well. Every manufacturer makes their products a little different than others. Thank you for watching. Truly appreciate it.
HI, loved the video, i need a little help if you can, over here in the uk the mops you are using in the video arent avilable over here so wondered what our equivalant might me, we have sisal for first cut, coloured stitched or secondary cut and white stitched for finish, does this sound right or can you recommend many thanks
Jon Sutton Jr. We use 7” and 9”. 4 “ is way too small and fast. Torque isn’t enough and speed too fast. To do in the holes you need a cone buff or powerball.
@@EvanStegerMetalPolishing Would you recommend a angle grinder or a polisher? I'm looking to do a little stuff on my truck and dont need nothing big or expensive, and I can't find someone that is responsible priced.
Jon Sutton Jr. I use an angle grinder. Check out my buffer selection video here on my channel. It has links tj the cheapest and best options in my opinion.
Evan on rims I go orange and brown then yellow with green then I do hand polishing with zephyr pr40 is there a need to go with hand polished some guys on Facebook said that they don’t used hand polished if you know what I’m getting at
As you know I’m been at this 5 years and I been hand polishing after I go with green so if I don’t have to then will cut down the time if you do another video can you show that lol keep shining 👍
Hey Evan ! First off thank you ! I’m new to the polishing side of metal ( I do paint correction) Practiced on a wheel today and did the 2 step process. It definitely looks a lot better and shiny but I’m still seeing very light scratches ??? Am I doing something wrong? First step and 2nd step I have it at 3000 rpm’s . Thanks again , Ed
I'm sorry I did not respond to this comment and I hope that you were able to find the video that I made that covered this topic. Thank you for watching.
Evan I am putting my truck in shop drive for another man in the meantime. I have a 99 W900 86” studio. About how much to do all wheel’s boxes tanks sand bring up to showroom shine. Would want tanks removed cleaned sanded
In this specific video the cut and color is at 6,000 rpm and the final finish buff is 1800-2200. 18oo when the buff is new and 2200 when the pad gets smaller and wears down.
Well I'm trying to learn to machine cut. I've been driving for several years and decided to try to start polishing. How many rpm grinder do you recommend?
I like to start my guys on the 6600rpm when they are training and if it is not something that they are comfortable with they will move to the variable.
Hi Even, I love all your videos they are a big help! I live over in New Hampshire and i am starting this summer doing polishing for the trucks that run through here.. Was wondering if there was any tips or tricks you wouldn't mind passing on. Also what are some of your pricing.. For regular polish, and show cut. Thanks again! Aaron wessling
All your videos are very educational for a starter.
Glad to help. Thanks for watching.
I didn't think I would be able to see the difference. I COULD! You ARE an artist!
Thank you sir. Means a lot. Thanks for watching.
the clarity of your reflextion after the white buff is evident on camera more than the shine
Clarity isn't a bad thing :) thanks for watching.

Hello and welcome back brotha! Thank you for watching and commenting.
Just bought my first set from zephy, the super shine x polishing kit so I can polish up my pontoon boat
Awesome. Wish you much luck. Pontoons are very difficult. Take your time and enjoy the process.
Craig they are called airway buffs. They are available in the uk.
Is 10,000 rpms too much power to polish?
I'm new to this so trying to get more info. Thanks in advance

Awesome work! I need to get my shine on after seeing this! Lol

Thanks Wayne.
Hey even what do you recommend is the best way to remove clear coating when polishing wheels
Aircraft stripper or fibretech wheels.
Thanks for the video 🤙

+shed Man you can get them in Australia for around $30 per buff from Truckbitsaust.com.au thats where I get mine from.
Aaron McShane renegade products are now available in OZ thru paul at bringbackthebling@gmail.com
What rpm for the domet flannel buff?
1800-2200. 1800 on a new flannel when it is big. 2200 when it gets smaller.
You got a new happy subscriber. Good vibes ✌️
Thank you for watching. Much appreciated.
What size grinder do you use?
-- 4 1/2 inch or a 7inch/9inch??
And also, how do you get in the circles of the rims??
Jon Sutton Jr. We use 7” and 9”. 4 “ is way too small and fast. Torque isn’t enough and speed too fast. To do in the holes you need a cone buff or powerball.

If I color the wheel with green compound I don't normally hand polish. Hand polish is a great maintainer but not necessary over fresh polish.
As you know I’m been at this 5 years and I been hand polishing after I go with green so if I don’t have to then will cut down the time if you do another video can you show that lol keep shining 👍
Greg Walsh will do.
I can see the difference..how can I get show cut in a one step.?my wheels are in good shape 2016 cascadia.
Show cut isn't possible in one step. Sorry

I'm sorry we do not remove tanks. Too much liability for me in my shop. Thank you for the inquiry.
What rpms do you cut and color with? 3:21 pm
I tell beginners to start with 3500 rpm or less and advanced users to use 6000 rpm.
Why do we clean the puff wheel with a metal brush? When do.we know it's time to.clean the puff with it ?
EA Jam the metal helps keep it clean and fresh. Rake it out anytime the buff gets crispy or stiff.
Will Red buff and brown bar work just as good as Orange buff and brown bar
Derek Pvhouse it’s just a stiffer cut. So might have to step it down before coloring.
What's your thoughts on VIS SHINE MACHINE Ive seen them on RUclips. Also Aussie shine.Great video Evan I can see your Blessed
I like the VIS machine. I sell a non automated machine and prefer to do it manually but The VIS machine is very high quality and well built.
What size sanding paper you used
I use all 5". I find I waste less paper with 5" instead of 6"
Great Video Evan!
Thanks Denis I try.
I received a yellow bar instead of a green bar..is it the same??... My supplier ran out of green
Randy Bye close but different.
Great video!!
Thank you!
I'm new to polishing would the 6600rpm be fine to start off with
I like to start my guys on the 6600rpm when they are training and if it is not something that they are comfortable with they will move to the variable.
wow just amazing
Thank you very much.

Is that first buffer 6000rpm?
First 2 are 6000 the last one is 2500 to 3000 unless you have one that will get lower
Yessir
How would you polish the holes?
Sinister.Shelby with a cone buff or powerball.
