    I used to work at a fab shop as a polisher. We built commercial sinks and counter tops etc out of 304 stainless. We had this wicked end grinder we called the beast. If we had a huge unit to polish we used the beast it turned up 9k rpm to make hard shines. The key to polishing and making a hard shine is speed and heat. Turning fast and holding to the metal it'll make an extremely bright shine. A perfect mirror finish everytime.

      That's awesome. I'd love to see the beast in action! Lol. I've heard the best polishing comes with speed like you said

      @@DeaDEye.21 the end grinder I used was pneumatic and was about 36 inches long. Thing didn't have a trigger, it had a grip Instead. Everytime that grip was hit, it'd kick up and twist your wrist if you didn't have a good hold on it.

      Glad it could help! The factory ford alcoas are cool wheels

      Also keep in mind you probably will have to strip ford factory alcoas before polishing
      If you can find the old school aircraft stripper it usually eats it off very quickly
      Apply / power wash off

    • @mechanicforlife9468
      @mechanicforlife9468 2 месяца назад

      Yes, we stripped the clear coat off, wet sanded them, as they were in terrible shape. Then polished them. My only concern is that we didn't re-clear coated them or if we could. Hopefully, the brake dust doesn't give us too many problems.

    How long do you usually take per wheels?
    I bought 10 wheels and i intend to spend around $200 bucks at harbor freight , polish the wheels and sell them. I set a goal to spend no more than 10 hours polishing. No experience but I'm a diesel mechanic so i learn easily.
    Thanks for your video and tips

      That's a good idea and you make a good point, I would say maybe 1 hour per wheel..? Could definitely get more efficient with it

    Man I’ve got 2 problems. I just can’t seem to get the last little bit of small scratches out after the final polishing wheels. I also have some haze that I can’t get out either. Idk what I’m doing wrong

    • @Alllsho84
      @Alllsho84 7 месяцев назад +1

      Same way you wash anything. Just don't use an abrasive or grease cutting soap it will take the oils out of the aluminum that the polish put in that protects and keeps it shiny.. use a good hand polish once a month or so
