Wuthering Waves officially released last month, and SO many of you have asked me to make an account where I try to play through the game using only sword-wielding characters. So I have finally decided to give it a shot.
If enough of you enjoy this, we can turn it into a recurring series, and if not, then I'll just slowly play through the game on my own time.
So, can you beat Wuthering Waves using only sword characters? Let's find out...

i mean one of the best teams in the game is havoc rover sanhua and danjin, who are all sword users, and sword charecters are the easiest to parry with

@@-Trexen-yeah man, that’s called math. In statistics there will always be extreme outliers on both ends, that doesn’t mean Java didn’t have objectively good luck on this episode

i’m honestly glad you chose Only Swords instead of Rectifiers, Rectifiers have a much harder time parrying, but have healers. imo, the difficult but much more interactive and skillful combat of Swords will make your playthrough more entertaining to play and watch. Can’t wait to watch this series!
I think overall OnlyGuns might have actually been the most interesting series considering one of the better teams in the game literally is a SwrodsOnly team. Definitely still hyped for this series since the building will be interesting, but it will be much more of a normal playthrough than the Genshin version.

almost all of the rectifiers are 5 stars and all of them are some of the most busted characters in game, itd be the easiest thing ever
@@staarfall5317 I'll be real, at current Vernia alone makes it the easiest challenge in the game. Having a healer that scales on Attack off the rip, AND you're, well, not basically, LITERALLY guarenteed to get her currently.
I actually think Swords may be the hardest, thinking about it.
Fists have the 5-star who I think can heal, Broadblades are barely different from swords, but currently have two five stars, one being limited and one being standard and very strong, and guns aren't really any different from the others, but have the benefit of range.
I think the challenge rating currently goes Rectifiers-Guns-Broadblades-Fists-Swords in difficulty.
Perhaps we go straight to Elements?
For sword healer we have spectro rover with their sc4. Give them verinas echoes set and you good.

Love this sm! Please keep posting about it! I do think things will ramp up in combat difficulty as there are no sword healers yet (with the slight exception of C4 spectro rover). I think puzzles and the like will likely be possible to cheese with any of the echos available which is super fun to experiment with and I can’t wait to watch you exploit! Also, for later when survival becomes more difficult, you could use the bellborne and other defensive echo abilities to take more hits.
Ooh, I like the creative use of echoes to hit ranged targets. What amazing luck for a new challenge series though!

Java there's a 5 star sword limited character called changli coming in 1.1. She's a fusion dps/sub dps so save your pulls for that
Who needs characters with guns? Not Java, nope! Already loving everything about this. Also those pulls were the luckiest gacha I've seen in a long time.

Also I wish I had your skills, I'm visually impaired so timing the parry and fights are so hard for me. I died 5 times before even reaching the city, so watching your fights makes me kinda jealous.

The beginners luck in Wuthering waves is so goated like I already got 5 5 stars in 100 pulls,I wish Genshin was like that
eyy, you've been blessed by my girl sanhua too! mine is resonance 4 too (once you get your free one). don't neglect her, she does stupid damage and she also buffs the basic attack damage of your next character. she's so good i love her :)

I don't know if anyone has said this but you can get another copy of "Commando of Conviction". in the inventory there is a weapon selector. It was a preregistration reward.
Was kinda hoping you divert to other weapons only in WuWa like maybe guns/sniper only or fistonly (calling it OnlyHands) since you have sword and catalyst content in GenPact, but seeing you making content for WuWa is still satisfying. Thanks for the great Vid and hope to see more of this series!!!

In my opinion, havoc rover is one of the most op characters you can have. Mine literally one shots everything and does more dmg then my high investment e1 jinshi. Defo use them a lot, doesn’t require a good build but still a great character.

You honestly shouldve made yourself able to use both swords AND broadblades because they are still technically the same thing (plus you can use daddy Jiyan 😉)

yes i found this extremely interesting and am pretty excited for when it'd get a limited 5star sword character to pull. i agree keeping a copy of the 5star sword for another character is the better choice at this early point. this is how i'm going to consume wuwa, through challenge series :'D

java, PLEASE continue! obviously, if you can keep up with it of course. i know how taxing it can be grinding on multiple accounts on multiple games, so don't push yourself! also, 2 5 star swords is crazy. plus, you got 3 of sanhuas copies, AND you get another from the login event.
Java, I'd advise against spending the aftershocked coral on radiant tides. If you save them up, then down the line they'll allow you to get a limited 5 star to C2 as soon as you get them.

Yes, I love this, u should also at some point do rectifiers only, since yin Lin is out, and u get get Verina and encore
So in wuwa, swords have the easiest timing to parry attacks (wider range, faster attacks). The only weapon type that can't parry is gun, hence why most of the current gun users are either sub dps like mortefi or support like aalto. The only gun main dps is chixia and she's basically just an amber with gun
So if u want to make a chalange account, I suggest making a gun only account
