It needs a small regulated pressure cylinder so that you can pre-charge it consistently with a stoichiometric air/fuel ratio that primes automatically between shots. That would give a much better, more consistent effect and be safer. It can also give you the option to tune the system for different environments. You also have the option to lighten a lot of it up by using an electronic regulation and discharge.

I think the main problem with this build is that you need an arc reactor as a power source. Once you build that your design should improve

I’m a welder fabricator and I need everyone in comments to give a round of applause to rob the welder, who’s clearly an engineer with mad skills and deserving of more credit.
Building that functional arm to scale is tedious time consuming and expert level work. This is not a DIY by any means.
The James dude catching stuff on fire to me was the most impressive by far. That includes what you built because yours was just a slightly better better version of the one built from scraps.

The others didint really scream iron man. That first one just catches fire, and has no semebelnce of ironman.
The second one was actually pretty good, but it has no force behind it visually. So that makes it kinda unimpressive because it looks like a big UV lamp you hold out in front.
I think you guys are fair to judge and all. But he did give the guy with the least resourses the highest grade, as he actually followed the assignment.
He did not click bait his title. He called his own invention what it was, a cheap inexpensive way to get a low end repulsor. And i can see it more like a repulsor in appearance and actual practicality. (The force)
Now this guy, he basically upscaled that. It's got a forceful push, it's a bit blue in color, and I can see it as a mock up of the first iron man suits arm.
The only way to get something like a real repulsor is to have military grade tech/support. People are way to anal about trying to fabricate pop culture into reality. Entertainment is entertainment, loosen up.

also, pretty much everything else you said can be tied to the fact that its a prototype... the whitehead torpedo, for example, originally had a range of a whopping... less than one kilometer, but decades of improving the design later and oh BOY were they scary little shits
it starts out as a shitty novelty that can be replaced by something that costs less and does the job better, but if it shows potential, people can and WILL perfect/improve the design over time, eventually beating out competitors

With a title like "making people Mad by fixing other RUclipsr's Inventions" I expected it to be far more innovative. He definitely improved it compared to the kid with scrap parts but all he really did was change the nozzle shape based off of an old toy that worked equally as well with nothing but elastic bands.
Hell, the toy probably works even better in terms of range and power and would shoot reliably too. All he needs to make that automatic is just a motor to crank it back and release when it's on the draw back and that mechanism already exists in cheap electric bb guns.

Unlikely i mean if you popped it next to someone's ear you might burst a drum , But at that size it's never really going to be generating the forces required to be proper dangerous to anyone but the user since well . It is a literal bomb strapped to your arm. Real dangerous vortex cannons are massive for a reason. Fun party and i wanna feel badass trick though.

I dont think it could be super scary, but it would definitely be improved greatly by not backflowing into the tube for the fuel and having an all metal construction allowing for higher pressures, along with the supporting components being improved

I think I admired the one made from soda cans the most because it's just so clever. You already had something that could withstand enormous pressure that was lightweight and compact so may as well use it. It's true maker skill to work with what you have and make something cool.

Maybe a really, really, really, really very hot laser that makes plasma in air to make boom+heat sadly no thrust. I love the people who build this shit. The arm cannons and jet engines and fire bending gloves. They put so much time into engineering and production and form factor and give absolutely no though to humble little stoichiometry. It's not enough to guy introduce gas into a system and add a spark, you need all three parts of the triangle to get a fire, and it's not always obvious when the fuel and oxygen are properly mixed until the instant it explodes.
Here is a simple description on how an actual repulsor would work...
-You need a f*ckton of energy... Enough to power 2 houses for a month
-You need a cooled chamber that collects all the energy and transforms it from stored to used energy at a high velocity in a fixed direction
-You need a lot of cooling so your arm isn't a forestfire in a matter of seconds
-And lastly you need an exoskeleton to catch the power you are using
Combine these in a technology we don't have yet and you should be fine ^^
Hacksmith: makes real lazer iron man glove, gets 2/10 rating
Random Creations: Puts a bunch of trash together and makes it blow air, gets 10/10 rating.
it was suppose to be pulse impact, not Lazor like.
I mean the hacksmith has a team of professionals and a large budget, but Random creations is a teenager with basically no budget and uses random things he probably found around his house
Because repulsor should be repulsing things, not straight up burn it. Ironman does have straight up laser for cutting steel and stuff tho.
