Good morning, Ken; Thank you for tuning in and the comments. I appreciate it. I think I will bring the snow removal equipment home from storage. That will scare off the snow. LOL! Have a great Saturday back there. Please take care, stay warm, and safe!
Morning Mike. Hope we get some moisture here, seems like it goes around us so far this winter. Haven't heard a rooster for quite awhile, must be hibernating 😅 have a good day and stay warm.
Good morning, David; Thanks to dropping by and the comments. Our ground is like concrete right now. I am hoping that NWS and Super Dave Frasier are correct in their prognostications. to 9 inches out here. HMMMM.... Guess I'll get the snow removal gear out of storage and scare it all off. LOL! At around time stamp 7:20 or so there was a rooster who sang out fairly loudly. Had not heard any in a while. Must be the next honored guest for Sunday dinner. Anyway. have a great Saturday over there. Please take care, stay warm and safe!
Good afternoon, James; Thank you for dialing in and the comments. I appreciate it. So far, no fog, mist or snow. Just cooling temperatures. I hope that you and yours have a great Saturday evening. Please take care, stay warm, and safe!
Good morning, Gerald; I thank you for stopping by along with the comments. Hope that you are feeling better. I have not chased down any cancellation yet and appreciate the alert on #4 being cancelled. I am not going to complain about the weather here yet. Cloudy and the wind is picking up a bit. Brought the snow eradication equipment home from the storage shed. I may have scared off the predicted snowfall here. LOL! Hope that you have a great Saturday afternoon and evening down there. Please take care and stay safe!
Good morning Mike. Well she groaned to a halt today! Cold there and snow coming too. Sounds like winter. Still around freezing here so mild, but cooler temps next week. See you in the snow tomorrow. Thanks, keep warm and well.
Good afternoon, Dan; Thanks for tuning in along with the comments. The weather guessers keep pushing the snow start times back. O figured that I might as well bring the snow removal gear from storage and scare the snow into not falling here. If it decides to dump some snow, then I am ready to clear the walks and paths to the vehicles. We are still in a "Dense Fog advisory" but have not seen any here. Oh well. Have a great Saturday afternoon and evening. Please take care and stay safe!
Good Saturday morning Mike! Believe it or not, it’s 4 degrees here in the Heartland at 08:19 AM! Hoping it gets up to the projected 17 degrees today! That’s alright! It’s mostly clear right now! It now sounds like any snow will be to the south of us by just a few miles! The southern 2 tiers of counties in Iowa and the northern tier of counties in northern Missouri will get the brunt of what’s to come! Have a great Saturday out your way Sir! I am here! Mark in Iowa.
Good morning, Mark; Thanks for dialing in and the comments. Again, we are just to the west of the really cold air mass. Only about 40 miles west. We are to get colder tomorrow and more possible snow. Bring it on! I'll bring the snow removal equipment home in a little bit just to make sure I won't need it again this season. Most of the chill and snow is to be well east of here. And the mountains will get a share. Hope that you and yours stay warm and sheltered back there. Please take care and stay safe!!
Good Saturday, Mike. Based on your f/case comments, I'm assuming the banging noise was the fabricators getting the plows ready. The weatherman is hedging his bets with the range of 5-9 inches. Wind gonna be a problem, too?? At any rate be careful and stay safe. And don't hurry with the shoveling.
God afternoon, Jim; Thank you for dialing in along with the comments. Yep. Mid-West steel fabricators have a major project they are involved with that doesn't include plows and snow shoveling. They may be shoveling something else though. The nigh crew was welding several different items. and had moved the company vehicles out of the way. More of their crew were coming in as I was departing for coffee and breakfast. The weather guessers have pushed back the start time for the snow several times already. I fixed they little red wagons by bringing my snow removal gear home from storage. Let it snow! Sadly, many of the driving public out here don't remember or have never driven in snow No habla snow! May get dicey going to the depot in the morning. Hope that you have a great afternoon and evening back there. Plese take care, stay warm, and safe!
Good morning Mike from 28 sunny mid Tenn. Tomorrow morning that's gonna be different. Forecasting freezing rain thru 9 am at least. Now that will put a damper on everything. Say what's the function of the cargill plant with so much steam visible? They are pretty diversified i think. Keep those fingers warm til you can wrap them around a hot coffee cup.
Good afternoon, Ben; I thank you for dropping by and the comments. You are warmer than the 26 F. here. That is to be out high for the day as of last weather report. Don't care for the freezing rain stuff. That is seldom to occur here. The Cargill plant seen in the video is a meat packing plant. They are slaughtering 2 to 3 thousand head a day with most meat headed to Asian markets. They had laid off one shift but are back in full production again. I agree that the Cargill family has fingers into a lot of agribusiness activities. That name is as big as ADM in the agricultural fields. Anyway, have a great Saturday afternoon and evening back there. Hope the freezing rain does not settle in. Please take care and stay safe!
What would Fort Morgan be without helpful Mike? Since that train arrives early in the morning and you need to get up, what time do you go to bed, Mike?
Good morning, greatnorthern930; Thank you for dialing in and the comments/question. I need not to wear my AMTRAK ball caps on the platform. LOL! It is still all fun. As for bedtime for Mikey, I am headed that way around 2000 or 8 PM. That is when the first run stuff on TV is over. and the reruns of the day's shows begin. That is a time I have used for decades and learned in the Navy. Old habits are hard to break, and this is one I have no intention of breaking. I usually read a page or two in whatever book is on the headboard or when the eyelids slam shut, the reading lamp gets turned off. Morning time is 0330, or so. Has been for decades again. That's left over from commute time from home to the Navy base and a hunt for parking. Glad I don't have that anymore. Anyway, have a great afternoon and evening, Please take care and stay safe!
@@Mikeinmorgan 0330, wow, that's a pee break time for me. Then I go sit in the recliner and finish the night there. I don't watch regular TV; I watch pretty much RUclips nonstop, that's how I found Mikey. You also have a good one.
Hi Mike. Are you gonna get anything from this storm? Wind for us; wind advisory for tomorrow. Snow might be flurries. Wonder if will cancel the trains tomorrow-Zephyr & SWC? Be safe.
Good morning, Cheryl; I thank you for stopping by and the comments. The NWS and "Denver's most accurate forecasters" are saying 5 to 9 inches of snow here. More of that farther east and into NEB & KAN with much colder temps and lots of wind there. I doubt if the Zephyrs will be cancelled. They run in that type of weather often. May slow them down a bit with the winds but they can operate in it. I'll be at the platform. It looks as most of the action is much farther east. Hope that you have a great Saturday. Plese take care and stay safe!
@ I read in chat today’s 4 to Chi, but 3 tonight& 4 for tomorrow canceled.LaPlata. I think LP will get dumped on-9-15” winter storm warning. Again TY for getting out.❄️🌨️this storm snow & ice to maybe tornadoes in the south.
Male happy Saturday Mike I see the trains are just doing just fine out there.

I meant to add that I see by one of the “trackers” number 6 is almost to Ottumwa this morning! Mark in Iowa.
Last I looked they were crossing the Missouri into Iowa. Those Ottumwa operators must want to beat the weather.
