The past of their bad history isn't really gone over, but my interpretation of why Tyra hates Lyla up to this point, is because Lyla has everything. She's popular, her family has money, her parents are still together and are both involved in her life, she's got good grades, she's the head cheerleader, and she's been with Jason who adores her, for years. She basically has everything in life, and she doesn't have to work too hard to keep it or have it. Tyra comes from nothing, her dad's not around, her family is extremely poor, she has to work and go to school, everyone in her life is a bad influence, etc. She just wasn't dealt the same hand as Lyla, and Tyra's life is not easy. Tim has to know from being best friends with Jason, from being around Lyla by association, and formerly dating Tyra, that Tyra and Lyla don't get along, and that's where I think the anyone but her comes from.

This show has so many moments where the actors accurately portray "high school awkwardness" . Such a great show!
Yeah, QB's generally are captains just because they're already expected to be the leader of the offense. Also, you're right. Basically they weren't blocking for Riggins correctly as kind of a continuation of the punishment with his truck. He earns their respect again by not only going back in, but also not complaining or saying a word about it.

Without going into detail or spoiling anything, Buddy Garrity might have my favorite character arc in the whole series.

Yeah, so many characters in this are kind of crap people. Lyla and Tim first and foremost. You don’t come back from effing people your boyfriend/best friends back after they were just paralyzed. There’s a special place in hell for those two.
