Being a small channel is good for a lot of reasons:
•Not much hate or none at all
•No pressure to upload every period of time
•More interaction with fans directly
•Not being accused for being greedy etc.
•Less comments to read
•You can kinda be friends with more people

Yeah, I hear you. Every time I say I have a LEGO RUclips channel as a response to "What do you do?" everybody assumes that's just a hobby. I try to explain that I pay taxes and health insurance and then they kinda get it. Apparently nothing says "This is my job" as "I pay taxes".

My friend just says "I work in video direction and production for youtube." Not allowed to name drop her, but I do like her rephrasing of her job title. She makes a darn decent wage off of it, too. She's always thinking about what to put in her videos, and has essentially glued her camera to her wrist. I couldnt eat my sandwich for 15 minutes once because she had to keep retaking the shot. ; - ; It was so cold when I got to it. SO COLD MAN. IT WAS GRILLED CHEESE.

It always feels weird to know that people think you're being "bossy" or whatever in your do-this-not-that series. There are so many art youtubers who are *actually* really rude and criticize young artists and different artstyles without giving it much thought, it feels unfair people would come to your videos and complain!

i really want to start taking youtube seriously,, but my issue is I'm really bad at recording voiceovers, i stutter, i ramble,I'm anxious, I'm awkward and just generally don't know what to say or do. I was hoping you may have some tips to improve on this?

Makenzi Mavericks Just practice. If you go back to even the most popular youtubers channels, you'll see that the beggining of it will most likely have quality thats... not the best. You also have to decide what tools/cameras/mics/etc. to use, what you want to do (art/acting/gaming/vlogging/etc.), and if you want to use a script, go with the flow, or a little bit of both.

I recommend scripting it at first (planning out what you want to say/just listing topics), and practicing before you record. You should also be in a room alone if you prefer nobody to hear, and make sure it's quiet so there's no background noise (think of it as you're talking to yourself). That's all the advice i can think of :'3
((I know its easier said than done, but nobody can nail it on their first try.))
Makenzi Mavericks Well honestly the good thing about doing pre-recorded content is that you can edit out and retake any section you don’t like, which I do frequently (this is why the tone of my voice occasionally changes mid video, if I had to stop and restart sometimes my voice starts up quieter than when it just cut off) So it may be noticeable but overall can make up for any awkward moments or stutters. I’m still trying to figure out how to make my voiceovers smooth, I think the biggest thing is, just go for it and learn along the way. ^^ Cause if you let inexperience stop you, how will you ever begin something new? Hope this helps~
It's people like you who have given me the inspiration to be a speed paint artist myself. It's nice to know that the people I look up to aren't just a smiling face basking in perfection. Your art is wonderful by the way.

When I got hate comments on my videos I didn’t really care I was kinda happy because I felt like people actually notice my videos so it doesn’t really bother me

You can have NO SKETCH and you have to stay zoomed in. You cant zoom out to see the body proportions- you gotta be at least 90% zoomed in 24/7.

What I like about your art is that when I watch you draw, I always try and picture a color scheme for that character, and when you start to color that character, the colors are completly different from what I would expect. And it suprises me how well those colors actually work. It's so cool! Your art is unpredictable, yet consistent!

Your 'Do This, Not That' series is super-helpful~! Plus, I love your art style and 'Cute Girls' series. Seriously, thank you so much for the advice and amazing art. You have inspired me so much into doing my own stuff.
I think the most problem I see with how people see RUclipsrs is the money-making aspect. People think that if they simply post videos, they'll instantly get money and fame. The truth is that there is actually a 'subscriber gap' where you won't be able to monetize your videos for awhile, and even then you have to choose to monetize them - it's not automatic. This means that the one posting the videos actually needs to put some work into their stuff, even if they don't make money off of it just yet. Plus, the amount of money really depends on how many people actually watch the video at the time. Which means that the video needs to be quite popular for it to actually make decent money (of course after ones gets monetization activated), and if it's not watched for awhile then it won't make them any money during that time. It's a lot of work, which is why RUclipsrs should have a main job outside of RUclips just in case things don't go too well (especially if they're just starting out). But a lot of people just see how 'easy' it is, and dump everything into the trash instead of planning for every possible outcome that can happen. So when things don't work out for them, in the end they will be left with nothing simply because they jumped in without thinking first.
reaching out to other artists always feels impossible LOL you nailed it on that one especially.. the fear of making people think you're after something or have ulterior motives is R E A L !!

I work from home with a company that makes video game related websites and I relate so much about the struggle to explain to people what you do for a job and getting apartments. xD luckily I'm mostly past that part in my life but it was a struggle for a while, and made me laugh to hear your description and think back on it.
