Nice tips! Glad you're not shying away from posting some longer videos, the short ones are good for a time crunch but for those who truly want to learn the in depth explanations are most helpful. Keep up the good work!
Thanks so much, David. Same here man, I always learn something new from what other people are doing, it's a great perspective to have. What kind of work do you do?
Looks like you were set to flexible spot. Do you generally use that setting most of the time? I'm struggling with which setting to use most of the time. I like flexible spot the most, but face recognition is really only effective in wide and zone focus. Any thoughts on this?
Hey Robert, I think I mentioned this in another videos comments, but yeah if you want to rely on face recognition wide is probably your safest bet and center or zone if the situation calls for it. I mostly use spot focus if I'm behind the camera and use touch to focus on the lcd panel. If I'm filming a fast moving subject I'll put it in wide just so I'm not having to constantly adjust the focus spot. Hope that helps. Let me know if you have a specific issue and I'll be glad to help.
i did that. its just that viewing through the viewfinder the objects look a magnified or the image seems to be a more punched in compared to what I see on the LCD screen
Very Weird. Sorry I can't be any more help. If there's a camera store near you, maybe stop by and see if anyone can get hands on and see if they can fix it.
really appreciate your feedback. I just feel the image through the evf looks a bit closer or zoomed in. Will hangout in the DPreview forums and check for a response. There is no SONY store near my place.

I wanted to address the Crop factor. Regardless of the settings my camera still crops the lens slightly when in movie mode. Even when under 30p. I shoot really tight shots with a 24-70 currently and this has put me into a position where it just is not wide enough for my application. I keep hearing everyone speak about how if you shoot under 30p it doesn't crop your video but this is not the case. Can anyone offer a little input? I really don't want to have to buy a 16-35 and the A7s I used before upgrading had zero crop factor. Helppp!
letsmakemusic100 thanks for stopping by the channel. For the crop, it shouldn’t be so much that it ruins your shots. Make sure your camera is in full frame mode, not aps-c. That’s the only advice I could give without seeing your settings personally.
Hi Somesh, thanks for stopping by the channel. Make sure you are in movie mode, the icon that looks like a film strip (not the manual “M” mode). Then go into Menu, make sure you are in HD mode, not 4K, and then choose the 120fps option.
Awesome, thanks for the encouragement! What kind of work do you do? Let me know if you have any more questions about the camera or filming in general. Have a great week!
I'm a wedding photographer/videographer. Trying to slide into using Sony A7III. I like it but I've been a Canon shooter for 10+ years so it's going to take a lot of getting used to. I currently use Canon 5D MK IV and 80D's. Here is my latest video. vimeo.com/270813807
Wedding Film Coach I'm an engineer and hobbyist photographer, just got the A7iii,55 1.8 and Tamron 28-75. I normally take landscape shots, but with this camera I've been getting into video and portraits a lot more, your channel is fantastic, watched most of your vids. In fact, maybe a dedicated vid on wedding portraits could be one you do in future? I don't see myself doing wedding photography specifically, but I like learning about it since it requires quick candid photos in only a semi controlled environment, which is great to apply in other situations

Thanks! Yes, I'll be generating some more detailed content over the next few weeks.
Thanks a lot for this walkthrough. Well-explained. 😊🙌
Thanks for this walkthrough, nicely explained. Even though I am an experienced cameraman, it's always good to see how other pros work too.

my image through the EVF looks magnified compared to what I see on the LCD on my A7III. any idea why ?
Interesting, I haven't heard of any issues with the EVF. Double check your settings or restore to default and see if that helps.

Any idea why my sony a7iii doesn't show me 120fps option? Please let me know how to fix it.

Maybe also that you need to check if your camera is set on PAL or NTSC. Pal is 100FPS Max and NTSC 120FPS Max.
@@davyfbkk thanks mate! Yes) i solved it by changing to NTSC.
Your video really helped! Thanks!
