Ades @DRONES FOR YOU, I would suggest what @Cody Blue suggested me when I was in exactly this phase. 1) Start with Sony 24-105 f/4 lense in the initial stage. Which would be your all purpose starting lense and trust me it would work fine for all the scenarios/occasions. 2) Try to set your hand on it and then see in what you do have actual interest. 3) If too much landscape photography / vlogging is your interest (which is already being covered with 24-105 initially) go for 16-35 f/2.8 (which is actually too much costly if you are not a professional video/photo - grapher. 4) if sports / wildlife is your thing, go for 70-200 f/4 or f/2.8 which is also a costly one again. Again, when you are buying stuff you are to excited to buy everything you can but trust me you dont want to be disappointed with costly lenses / accessories which you wont use even couple of times a year. I have been watching your video for 2 weeks straight now and actually got myself an A73 instead of the originally intended A7r3. Your video shoots are so cinematic! Don't know what happened firstly but the shutter-button didn't have the focus-function anymore when I adjusted the camera according to your settings. I've made a total reset and added the latest firmware, tried it again and now the button works as expected. Phew. Great tutorial anyways. Thanks a lot!

I had exactly the same with my a7c and on 3, i put hd120p, and like you i keep the other settings for all other photography mode. I also created a custom menu to avoid searching the settings in all the pages, i group monitor, peaking, zebra, zoom, AF speeds, memory and recall, iso settings etc.. all the most important. So i know i can find them in the custom menu. In video i set it to picture profile off in all 3 modes, but i created a pp1, for night shot with cine1 color Pro and very custom settings to show deep black and very low color noise and shadow noise. In pp off i use creative style to down detail and contrast and saturation for better film looking.

The colorspace is so much different compared to my Nikon but I’m loving it so far. Being new to the A7iii, I've been trying to find a good way to quickly switch back and forth for slow motion and 4k video. Setting it up this way made it so easy! thanks for the video!
This might be a stupid question but can we not shoot slow motion with 4k? Is that why number 2 is 1080p? Also I noticed that #2 doesnt really film in slow motion like S&Q, so do we have to do it in the post edit? So always shoot in 1 for 4k and just use 2 for slow motion but need to slow it down in premiere during the edit? Thanks!

Nice. I come back to this video when I get prepared for a project to make sure I didn't forget anything when I remake my presets. Short comment. If you use 4k at 30 fps you can slow down by 80% your shots. If not really noticeable, but make a difference to me. Great video Cody.
Just got an a6400 and will be trying out these settings lol. I’m struggling with pictures profiles and color grading the most because I never had to do that on my a6000. But thanks for this video, it helps a lot!
These settings straight out of my a6400 look excellent. I know this is an older video but I'd like to know how you arrived at these settings. I'm sure it was trial and error to some degree but the values are pretty drastic in some cases. It would be great to see a breakdown.

for a new out of box camera default settings are different than your “leave everything…not going to touch” settings. For someone just setting up a camera a longer pause on the screen would be helpful. Also lost when you used shortcut buttons to get to the menus like PP. Other than that this was a great help.

I have seen a lot of video and photography set up. And none of them have said that I NEED TO TURN THAT FUCKING DIAL TO VIDEO. Except for this guy. And for that reason, I SUBSCRIBE, GAVE IT A THUMBS UP AND SHARE.
I would say 98% accurate. Only 2 things seem not good for me as photographer. Profil picture doesn't impact RAW file so no need to turn it off (impact only the thumbnails probably because they are jpeg) and the second thing is back button focus that is a game changer for quicker shoots as you dont't have to wait for refocusing everytime. I would love also that sony able to not lose your settings everytime you turn the weel... when you go to 120 fps and come back to 24fps then you have to re do the iso, wb, aperture... not very convenient. Nice video ! Thank for sharing your settings 😉

Great video! Love it. But I am wondering what is the difference between filming in M mode (I used to to that cause I am capturing both photo and video during my sessions) and filming in 'movie' mode? You just mention 'now things have changed'... What would you recommend for me when capturing both? (I would need the fastest way to switch)

Make sure you plan on color grading. Otherwise turn off the picture profile
Dont need to change aspect ratio to 16:9 as this is for stills only, video is always filmed in 16:9 by default

Why 3:2 instead of 16:9 for photography settings? I been shooting with 16:9 and what would be the difference?

Great video! Love it. But I am wondering what is the difference between filming in M mode (I used to to that cause I am capturing both photo and video during my sessions) and filming in 'movie' mode? You just mention 'now things have changed'... What would you recommend for me when capturing both? (I would need the fastest way to switch)
Do you have a video explaining about ISO?
Always shoot RAW for photography if you can! The changes you can make in post are worlds apart from RAW to Jpeg
