Hey, Evelyn! Just wanted to comment that the cushions are the PowerDyne Reactor Magic Cushions, not the Universal. I just made this mistake for my Beach Bunnies, so hoping I can help others avoid it. Here's the description from the Reactor, where as the Universal is just the barrel part without the conical part:
The pack includes four high-rebound universal cushions and four high-rebound step top cushions
I just watched a video by moxi and after scrolling through a lot of the roller skating subreddit I thought that you DO want the universal ones, however you also need to purchase a new retainer with it as well which powerdyne also sells. Moxi has a set that comes with the universal cushions and new reactor but it’s sold out, but you can just order the two separately on any other site! However it also seems the reactor ones work without buying a new retainer? im so confused!
glad you talked about how sliders make a difference for beginners. i was able to drop in and stall pretty easily without sliders and then when i put them on my skates it felt like i was starting over because of how slippy it was and my trucks didnt just lock onto the coping. now that i have gained way more core strength and have been practicing on the p-rail, i finally feel like i am making progress.

Another tip for toe guards! I used to make mine with that designed duct tape! You can find it at Walmart. It’s affordable and the possibilities are endless!!

I made the mistake of buying some Chaya Jump skates back in like 2018 and they don’t have a heel either. They’re really comfortable but they’re still almost brand new because I haven’t been able to figure out to balance comfortably on them. Been trying to buy a pair of beach bunnies or panthers for the last few weeks and EVERY online store is sold out. Guess I’ll have to wait til August when they’re all back in stock. 😩
The back of my pink impala skates have been lifting in the back and though its been like that for a little over a month for me, i have been really worried it will effect my skating. Im really relieved to see someone else skate with the back lifting and saying it should be safe! Ive tried to glue it with different kinds of glue but nothing is really working. I was going to buy the beach bunnies but now i might just save my money a little bit longer to buy lollys to avoid lifting. Anyway, I love your set up and your videos! Im really happy to see more youtube videos involving roller skating and i cant wait to see how far your progress goes! 💕
I was gonna get a pair of panthers bc they're on sale for 190 rn. But the beach bunnies are also on sale and they're just 120. Now, the panther is a nicer boot imo. But the beach bunnies come with the toe guard. I would have to buy one if I got the panthers. Plus, they are just beginner skates. I do plan to update to lollys someday. Either way I am getting the watermelon beach bunnies and cant wait! I dont imagine theyll last as long as a panther boot would but ill be updating them before they mess up anyway. I have to say, they are a great deal! I think they may be the best skate for the price on the market right now.
I done the same 😂 I was very tempted by the panthers but the beach bunnies were for me, thinking the same upgrade to lollys down the line, enjoy your beach bunnies 😊
@@orls9068 LOL! That’s great for you! I stand by what I said I think the beach bunnies are the best skate for the price rn! But my grandma who was a former ice skater freaked out when I told her I was ordering a skate with a vegan leather boot and she actually ended up giving me the extra cash to get the panthers so I ordered the panthers and the black suede ProtecToes from moxi for 225$ including tax. It wasn’t as good as a deal as the beach bunnies and I was just blessed I got gifted cash from my grandma to get the suede boot. I think the beach bunnies are adorable tho and if I ever get into jam skating I may get them for that!

I just recently learned how to confidently shoot the duck and could already jump over large street cracks and jump for fun. But I recently ordered smith scabs safety set of the summer for my goal of learning how to confidently park skate and learn more tricks. And i just wanna say that its all about getting out there... cause im that girl who will show up in places with my crazy colored skates, a purple helmet. My skates are pink, one toe stop red and the other blue. So it doesn’t matter what you look like as long ad your confident! :)
This is so true!! I feel like people will limit themselves because of the skates they have and when your a beginner, most skates can get you to at least learn the basic and feel the water before the big investment (:

I been looking for a review that didn't look before actually buying my bunnies lol. And althought this is that it's a setup video, you have cover alot and what to look forward to after a while of using the stocks of the beach bunny. Which I am glad I found. You did so good in getting into detail and now I have more faith in me and my skates 🤣🤣🤣🤣. I haven't skated in over 17 years, so I considered myself a beginner so Its grestbto hear it's best for starters.

I just found your channel, and I love your videos. I got my strawberry lemonade beach bunnies on Monday. Definitely going to get cushions and loosen the trucks. Not sure I can fit an insole in there; my skates are almost too snug.

i dont have a skatepark that has and area with a small half-pipe with coping, so I made a rail at home and have been practicing stalls, i also recently ordered sliders, even though I'm not ready, I just ordered them because they were half off and they will be right there when i am ready, so i saved $50

There’s so many great bearing brands, I can’t imagine which they’d pick. I enjoy how much time I save from having to change my wheels for different surfaces🤗
They’re not that expensive they’re only $150 the owner of Moxi did explain that in a video once
I have those insoles! They do make a big difference. I bought them for my denny skates but it made them tighter to the point of it being more painful than helpful. I use them in my other skates which have more room.

my heel on the beach bunnies are the same exact way. only 3 months in. i was really shocked bc i specifically got the beach bunnies over the impalas for tht exact reason LOL
How aggressive do you skate? Like skate parks, tricks, indoor vs outdoor? Because I plan to use mine mostly outdoor since there are no skate parks here. Also I'm not a beginner so idk if I should even get the beach bunny 😅 wish places were open and had stock so I could try things on! Lol
I was worried at first but I’ve had them for 7 months now, I have a heavy foot when stalling in bowls and they have kept up with me! I do plan on upgrading soon but I’ll keep everyone updated if the heal ever finally detaches!(:
VeganMagick i wouldn’t say i skate aggressively but rather very long distances +keeping up with my partner who has inline/abec 9 bearings so i do push myself tremendously for long hours. i only ever skate outdoors in them. they haven’t torn off but it does seem to be getting worse :/ i was lucky to get mine back in march before everything crazy happened. i will say beach bunnies are very tight on the foot, my feet are wide and flat, took a looong time until they felt comfy to me!!

I'm your exact shoe size and I keep jumping from being confident in my choice of a size 7 for my skates and then scared I ordered too small but you sealed the deal that a Moxi 7 is my size and I have nothing to worry about sizing wise when I get my skates

REALLY GLAD you talked about cushions. I watching dirty deborah harry’s video and she talked about cushions and it got me wondering “are my cushions too hard for me?” (i have the sure grip fames) i would loosen my trucks even more than they were, but i felt super unstable. Buying new cushions right now and hopefully it helps me ! (:

One more comment where did you retain all this knowledge so fast? Any recommendations for resources? And how long should I wait to change the wheels? I’m honestly wanting to lose weight before I start doing anything major.
OH AND for the cushions- you said size medium but the site only says soft medium or firm, I’m guessing you meant medium cushion? Just making sure I get the right ones!
RUclips has been the biggest help! For skate parks, derby warehouse has been very helpful! But to be completely honest, you could probably message any roller skater and they would be happy to help you find on Instagram 💖

Hi there! This is a wonderful video! Moxi beach bunnies were my first skate as well and I still absolutely love them! Learned so much from this video and I have been skating almost a year now. My heel also started to separate or become unglued from the heel after like 30 days of me having mine :( I might try some shoe goo to help remedy this.
So glad to hear your loving your beach bunnies as much as I do:) they are a magical first skate and even though I use my vegan jacks in the park I use them for my trail and beach skating🌈✨

Hi Evelyn! I just got beach bunnies and am taking in all the information that I can. When it comes to cushions, how did you go about choosing the medium? Do you know what the difference is between those and soft cushions for example? Figure I should probably just change out the stock cushions if it'll make the skates more comfortable for me :)
Hi Samantha! I actually bought both soft and medium but thought the soft was a little to bendy for me. I knew the mediums would be okay because they come in the Lolly complete skate and i havent had issues since! :)
I’ll have to see about sliders when my new bunnies come, because the skates I have they couldn’t grab onto the coping. So I assumed that I HAD to have sliders to do slides. So when I get my bunnies I wanna see if I can slide

I didn't pay attention to sizing and bought my size. I am normally a 9-10 so I bought a 10....yeaaaah too big but I spent my last bit of money on them xD they still work and probably fit me better because I have wide feet and I heard they are narrow skates

I have a question about cushions! I also have the beach bunny skates, and I bought the powerdyne magic cushions. However, one of the washers seem to be too small??
Is that normal or was I meant to buy a pack of conical cushions as well?

Love your review! I am not an aggressive skater just like to dance and do simple spins. I want to be able to skate outside and inside which moxi model do you think would be a good fit for my needs?
I think the lolly is the best for your needs! The amount of ankles support allows for flexibly for dance skating. They also come with a nylon plate, making them lighter in weight and easy to carry around when you want to skate the boardwalk/ bike trail! They do come with outdoor wheels but you can always upgrade to fundaes hybrid wheels or buy an additional set for indoor 🤗

Hello friend! Thank you so much for watching!🤗Honestly, I just go with the flow. I watched so many if not all of Indy Jamma Jones’ skating videos! Every day I would try to master that one goal (give myself a couple days or as much time you think you need) and lots of repetition. Look for the easiest things to do, once you got those down, challenge yourself a little more, don’t skip on the baby steps and practice really makes perfect. I hope you have lots of fun once your skates arrive!🤗🌈🌸✨

I wanted to ask you what padded shorts u got or which u recommend especially for hips or tail bone. I can’t believe this fall really scared me! I’m 50 years old now and am determined to skate. Brave Girl hi! I’m a new skater too. Falling is inevitable but what I’ve learned is that you should stay low! Keep that squat until you’re comfortable being more upright. That way, if you fall, you’re closer to the ground. :) There are also really great videos out there that teach you how to fall with minimal injury. Good luck and have fun!! Fear can be a good thing that will lead to amazing growth. ✌🏼💓

Skater Girl Squirrel gave great advice! Always maintain a bend in your knee to make sure you have a chance to go forward opposed to back! I suggest practicing how to stop with your toe stop and maybe practice taking knee in case you start rolling a little too fast where you can't stop yourself. Some falls are scarier than others and sometimes you need to take some time for your body to recover. You got this! It is awesome that you are roller skating again! I cant imagine the joy you felt when you slid those skates on again for the first time! 😍🤗🌈

Have you even been in the moxi van?
The rink by me is opening up again and I was really excited to go back after i purchased these over quarantine. But I recognized that they are a bit gummier wheels then the rental skate wheels. I was reading some reviews and people said they could work for indoor and outdoor. Some people said however that they do not work indoors. Would you think that the wheels could work inside the rink? If not what indoor wheel would you recommend?
A gummier wheel will work indoors but itll be noticeably slower, you might feel like youre skating through molasses. If you dont want to buy another pair of wheels you can still make them work but harder wheels are better

Do we need the Y3 tool to loosen the trucks and wheels? Or would other tools like we have in the garage work on these skates aswell? And will the bunny and the flowers on the gummy wheels really disappear? v.v Nice video ! :D
Livka Wolf ღ the y3 tool is super handy for adjusting toe stops, nuts on wheels, and your trucks if you get a chance, it’s an awesome investment. If you are at home at the moment, you can use an individual drive socket with a 1/2 socket for your nuts and a 9/16 socket for the kingpin nuts (trucks)

What paint did you use to paint yours and make it stay?
I used basic waterbased acrylics from the arts and craft section at walmart. I then sprayed it with modpodge but I feel like it picks up so much dust! Maybe I'll try a clear coat polish for nails and only coat the parts with the acrylic. 🤗🌈✨

what size blocks do you have , cause i have the same skates and wheels but i am a begginner at sliding want to get slide blocks
When you bought your cushions did you get the "hop up kit?" or the "reactor" set? I accidentally bought the universal ones (in medium) and they don't fit. So I put the new barrels in and left the original cones but the trucks still feel wobbly and unstable when I go fast, even though I tightened them all the way. Can't tell if it's because the barrels aren't the right size or I need harder cushions.

I know that it doesnt matter but whats youre preference on putting the toe stop on toe guard thing? Guard then nut or-
I think it does matter! I think i figured out the order to prevent those stoppers from getting loose:
starting from the plate to the tip of the stopper, this is the layer order:
- stop tooth washer with the teeth facing the plate, toe stop bolt, toe guard, then the actual stopper. When screwing in the stopper, set the bolt where you want the length of the stopper to be and (i know this can be tough) but tighten the bolt even if the guard is in the way. I will try and tighen around the guard. I hope this isnt confusing, let me know if I need to re-explain. 🤗
I’ve heard some people say that the wheels on the Moxi BB are actually not super great for outdoors. Did you find this is true?
Honestly I got radar energy wheels pretty much straight off the bat to match the look of my skates so I can’t give you the best opinion but I have heard because they don’t have a hub in the wheel they are squeaky, I hope this helps🤗💖

not the biggest but I have hurt myself a bit because my foot has slid in the boot when trying to do a trick, just make sure you tighten them and have them laced all the way to the top! 🤗💖

For Moxi’s imported models, beach bunnies, jungle, or Panther skate, they suggest going one size down. I would go with a size 6 🤗

Im 11 years old and wear a size 2.5-3 should I get these in a womens in the beach bunny or would they be too big? If i get them I believe i could put insoles to make it fit better if their too big and I would have room to grow in them is this a good choice? *I also have narrow feet so would it be too big i really like them I don’t really like the childrens ones* also I have experience rollerskating indoors.
