what you doing here on this car reminds me so much of my late uncle who was in VWs.... so we would have more then one mk2 jetta's on the back yard and we would mess around with the donor jetta's and get better parts for the one he's working on. it was great having him around as a kid and would show us stuff we ddn't know about cars and that made him the coolest uncle man,,he passed on the love to me and my broes. that jetta looks so good.
Amazing how a little bit of love n care can bring back to a better place a $300 car tat was supposed to go to scrap metal !! Thank you for all new things I learn every time you post videos on this mk2....
I know building vw's in to show stopping cars is where it's at, but there is something so special about a low buck clean daily, especially when you are on a sunset drive. Being in fla is the icing on the cake. Ima hold ya to not complaining about how hot it gets this summer. Lol.

Thanks for the tip to keep the auto starters going, gotta try that on my buddys mk2. Btw i am pretty sure you can use the spline adapter off of a mk3 on an old mk2
I’ve never tried it but that’s what I was told so hopefully it works! And I’ll have to check my other spline I didn’t know it had an adapter on it I thought it was all just one piece
That ND clay dirt is really messing up a lot of parts on the car, like the rear door lock. MK2 is looking real good, for now. There is always something special about a jalopy, god knows I had my share. Great job, thanks RickGTI….. 🌴 ps y’all might consider calling her Dakota, just sayin ! 😂

I was thinking, if you had access to a weld, you could rig up a portable English wheel and smooth out the dents on the fender.
Take the spline adapter off the parts column you can pull it off with a bearing splitter it slides on like the mk3

Hi the big spine comes off the later column and fits over the small spine on the early column hope that helps loving the videos 👍👍👍

yep it is the same part number as mk3 191 419 514

I done told this mans multiple times i can get parts for his VW’s since our yards typically have mk1, mk2, & mk3’s but he’s all Hollywood now 🥱

I will do a trans flush and add new fluid but it worked fine on the last car so for right now it’s okay
