As I lay on my busted back after slaving away for over 30 years to provide and chase a better life, this song hits home.
That is also the best life you can live. You didn't slave away. You were a functioning member of society. We live in the best time of all of human history bar a LARGE margin. We can still make improvements and we will; however, we have to stop thinking of only the negative, and embrace both the positives and negatives of our current world.

I was a hospice nurse for many years. Took care of every patient like they were my own family. Many nights, I would cry myself to sleep because each one of them took a little piece of me with them. I'm grateful for the life experiences I had with each patient. But now retired. I see the toll it took on my body and heart. Because of my faith in God, i knew I was where I needed to be.

I've learned in my retirement, that it's OK to do nothing all-day, It's OK to take that nap in the middle of the day because your body, mind, and soul need it. I had to double check your name after reading that. Those words could've literally come from my mom, a hospice nurse for 35 years or so. I saw first hand what they do, and also saw the difference they make, as evidenced by the flowers and cards of appreciation often on our kitchen table, sent from the families. The only disagreement I have with you is those patients didn't each take a piece of you. They each ADDED a piece! Thank you for a life of service. I know hospice nurses get paid far less than they could in other areas of nursing.

I work on a ranch with my grandpa full time, welding shop every other weekend and a diesel repair shop on the days I'm not welding or working for my grandpa. I've chosen to work as much as I can to avoid falling into the new world. This song SCREAMS how my grandpa has been seeing the world collapse. Really hits home with me. I'm 61 years old, and I've been around long enough to witness what the evolution of time has done to this country. My other five brothers and I grew up on a farm in Texas, hauling hay and pulpwood to help our father make ends meet. We worked the farm and the land, hunted our own meat, grew our own vegetables, etc. A simple life, if you will. It's not so simple anymore. I've really enjoyed your music, Dax. My mother made, education at home, for me and my sister. We didnt NEED nothin, and we go visit all my familly every year hollidays, has a holliday trip, for 1 month.
