I think the fact that the Mixon caps out at 450F, but the Yoder goes to 600F+ and can do direct flame searing pretty much ends the comparison right there. Yoder offers unparalleled versatility.
The Yoder Smokers pellet line certainly does which makes it a premium option and a leader in the category. While that point you bring up might be a dealbreaker for some, it’s not the end all for everyone as not all people value certain features or plan to use certain features. Appreciate the input, always glad to hear what comparison points people value as important.

@@justgrillin I agree the ability to seat up to 600 degrees isn’t a deal breaker for me.
Awesome comparison video! 👍
I have a Yoder and love it. The Myron
.. never heard of it.
MAK Two Star General. Besides, low and slow smoking, the Two Star has a grill mode on the controller and with the flame zone plate uncovered, you get high enough temperatures to sear steaks.
Those are a USA made product which is something we love. Aside from that, we wouldn’t put them in the same conversation as the two units in this video based on distinguishable features of the units.
Nice video. How about a review of the Pitts and Spits
Thank you. We're not a retailer for Pitts & Spitts so no access to do so. It's an American made product as are the two grills in this video. Always happy to see that in grill companies. Based on our research, we are confident the two grill lines in this video offer unique best in class features above most others when looking at the features as a whole.
My Yoder does great, never heard of those grill.
Glad to hear. Yoder's are great pellet smokers and do a great job all-around. The Myron's are relatively newer so just comparing options that come in around the same price point is all. The purpose isn't to say one is best. That's always eye of the beholder. Just touching on common questions to show where each grill shines if deciding between the two.

You can have all the cooking space you want, if your food doesnt cook at proper temp your just wasting time. I love my yoder for this, just cooked a brisket in very low temps. I had no issues. I also grill on it at 500 degrees no problem.
The temperature range on the Yoder pellet grills is a nice feature and certainly great to have. They’re moving to including the two-piece heat diffuser standard inside the grill when purchasing the grill helping showcase the direct flame cooking feature even more for those just getting their Yoder.
How much do the grills cost?
2Kfor the Yoder 640 without the competition cart.
I checked out the Myron Mixon website and reviews.. they need to listen to there customer feedback, and focus on better quality. I have seen and had smoked meat from the Yoder, it is a far higher quality product.
Both companies put out great products. No brand is immune to bad reviews on their products.
Both pellet smokers put out great results. There’s great features on both and some key differences which we point out in this video.
We’re glad to hear you’ve had a good experience with Yoder as you should. They certainly do make a great product anyone would be proud to own.
Getting a reqtec, but I want a Yoder.
same
Don’t feel bad. Got rid of my Yoder and bought a Rectec. Couldn’t be happier
My friends Yoder goes to 700+ degrees. Hands down winner. The Mixon looks like a Yugo.
I didn't see anything about Yoder's 2 piece diffuser and the capability it has to sear over open flame using the GrillGrate. Also. Why is it that every single smoker that has a pellet dump, dumps pellets like an old man pee's. They spray all over the place! drives me nuts.. lol
Video was shot before the two-piece diffuser came stock with Yoder. Didn't bring it up because the comparison was on the grills as is without add-on accessories. Not sure on the pellet changeout slots.

Glorified Smokin Brothers
Yoder all the way!!!
I'll make it easy for you the Yoder is better 7 days a week and twice on Sunday it's the Cadillac of grills with Toyota reliability I've had my Yoder for five years and has never even had a hiccup
I have heard issues with rust?
Smokin Brothers builds them now
Yeah. Gotta look at the publish date. This video is a bit older and outdated.

@@justgrillin we just sold our Smokin Brothers and bought our Yoder with comp cart
@@timandrews4722 nice. Enjoy it. You’ll definitely enjoy the app experience versus what you had before.

Lot
Lonestar grillz
Comments with that brand pop up periodically. I’ve never seen one of those in person but I’ve read up on them. What is it that you like about that versus these? I never ask but am curious. I haven’t read anything feature wise that really blows me away beyond the two models in this video.
- Sam
@@justgrillin honestly I just ordered it so I will let u know how I like it or not when I get it lol. But yea all three are great cooker’s so I hear. I have a Lang stick burner right now 👍🏼
@@drock9575 okay. Thank you.
It seems they share more features in common with Yoder than the Myron. I look for major differences so that's why I'm asking. Always curious what consumers are thinking and matters most to them.
- Sam
I’ll take Kansas any day over Connecticut . But at least USA..
Yoder biggest selling point, is the competition cart. Granted the Yoder looks great on the comp part. Way better options elsewhere..
There’s a lot more to like about Yoder’s such as the controller, craftsmanship and reliability. The competition carts are very nice, even if you’re just using it to move the unit around the patio.
@@justgrillin between the two you compared I agree. At this price point (or close to it) there are better options.
@@chrislrocks such as?
@@shamrock7599 Pitts and Spitts, MAK
Got rid of my Yoder and bought a Rectec. Best decision ever. So much easier to use and clean. Also doesn’t rust. Wheels fell off of the Yoder after 2 years.
Yoder all day long, sorry Myron
Mixon is a jack hole. I wouldn’t buy anything with his name on it.
