Vincent Cuttolo not really. Rivers was a better choice since the Oline was so bad and defense just didn't work to the point Brees couldn't do what he does. Thats why he had the injury the team didn't match him. As a chargers fan, he deserved to go to NO. But Rivers does deserve a ring
Man too many people getting the story wrong. Brees hurt his shoulder in 2005. From 01 to 03, Brees was HORRIBLE like so close to being cut horrible. Rivers held out in 04 offseason which allowed Brees to start the season and the light finally came on and he was wonderful, leading them to the playoffs, pro bowl berth and comeback player of the year honours. He started in 05 and had another great season, but in a non-meaningful season finale game against the dirty broncos, he hurt his shoulder by future GM of the niners john Lynch(very dirty hit, search it on youtube) with his shoulder not being 100% healthy, they offered him a contract that wasn’t too high and up to Brees standards so he left and the rest is history. Saints fans are thankful, and two franchises got hall of fame qb’s.
I'm happy for all 3 QB's and believe they all should be in the HOF. I've enjoyed all the matchups over the years between the giants and chargers, steelers and giants, and then steelers and chargers to watch the 3 of them. My favorite team thankfully got one of them even though if they did wait one more season, they could have gotten Rodgers instead
If Rivers went to the Giants or Steelers, he would have a couple rings by now and would be considered a Top 5 QB of all time. The San Diego Chargers are a toxic organization that prevents players from reaching their full potential. (I'm a Chargers fan btw)
Could Rivers best Brady? Especially with the Randy Moss team? I don't think anyone outside of Eli could have done that and I don't even know how he did it.
@@dmeads5663 Which position is more important? Look how many QB's the Browns have drafted or tried out as their future QB since Ben was drafted. It's like how the steelers paid for not drafting Marino when they had the chance

Same with Aaron Rodgers replacing Brett Favre. It's insane to think that Rivers and Rodgers could've had way higher career touchdowns/passing yards if they didn't sit for 2 years behind Brees and Farve, respectively.
@@civichoo6017 Higher touchdown totals, but it might’ve taken them longer to reach their respective peaks, if either even reached them at all. Sitting behind Favre for so long helped Rodgers look remarkably polished from day one as the starter.
chewyismycopilot you had to bring up a sore subject for me. The Buffalo Bills screwed up a great opportunity here. As Big Ben was falling through the draft, the Bills could have made a trade to leap frog past the Steelers and gotten him instead. Nope. They stayed put and got Lee Evans, a decent deep threat, but not an all-time great. And then, they did the stupidest thing possible and traded their 2nd and I believe 3rd round pick, PLUS their 1st round pick the following year for J.P freakin' Losman. Add an e between the s and m in his last name, and that's what Buffalo got, instead of holding onto their picks, get some possible key contributions to a winning team and, oh, by the way, be in prime position to get Aaron Rodgers in 2005.

Saints fans are thankful, and two franchises got hall of fame qb’s.
as a Pittsburgh fan im completely okay with how this draft turned out
I'm happy for all 3 QB's and believe they all should be in the HOF. I've enjoyed all the matchups over the years between the giants and chargers, steelers and giants, and then steelers and chargers to watch the 3 of them. My favorite team thankfully got one of them even though if they did wait one more season, they could have gotten Rodgers instead
Big Ben's agent looks kinda like Adam west lol.
Finally someone said it.
Eli 'Daddys Boy' Manning LOL
jnyfumare ikr
better to be a daddy's boy who has 2 rings, Then a ring-less animal abuser .
Eli bites anyway. So funny he looses his iron man status fittingly to Rivers
Eli is such a prissy.
Chargers fans, Eli has more value then your entire franchise. That is all.
2004 class was one of the best draft class ever
If Rivers went to the Giants or Steelers, he would have a couple rings by now and would be considered a Top 5 QB of all time. The San Diego Chargers are a toxic organization that prevents players from reaching their full potential.
(I'm a Chargers fan btw)
STEELERS. NOT GIANTS. RIVERS WOULD HAVE BUSTED IN NYC. GOOING TO A PLACE THAT DID NOT WANT YOU? LOL
Vincent Cuttolo Yes! He is the antithesis to Russell Wilson!
Giants only took Rivers to deal him, so if the trade never occurred, the Steelers would've grabbed him, and actually Cowher would've preferred Rivers.
Could Rivers best Brady? Especially with the Randy Moss team? I don't think anyone outside of Eli could have done that and I don't even know how he did it.
Humble TreeStump He didnt though. The legendary Giants defenses did. It was a low score Super Bowl
Big Ben is funny asf
The Browns picked kellen Winslow 😂
Lejon Brames both UM first round ended tragically..
Lejon Brames lol bro they really picked him even if he retired
He wasn’t bad but yea they could’ve had Roethlisberger
They have paid for passing on Ben but I'm happy that they did
@@dmeads5663 Which position is more important? Look how many QB's the Browns have drafted or tried out as their future QB since Ben was drafted. It's like how the steelers paid for not drafting Marino when they had the chance
Damn the 2004 draft had some STUDS Big Ben, Rivers, Manning, Sean Taylor, Kellen Winslow, D. Hall. Sheesh
Winslow? yeah that name doesnt belong.
he was good for awhile.
@@Skazellino he had the ability to be better than his dad and blew it
Larry Fitzgerald??
It's kinda sad to see how terrified Eli was to stand up to his daddy and make his own decisions
Why wouldn't he take his dad's advice? Do you know who he is?
Anybody watching this in 2019 and still saying AWKWAARRRDDDDD.
Just did...lol
Just imagine how different the nfl would look like for the next 15 years if Eli decided to play for San Diego, Eli Manning to the chargers, Big Ben to the giants and Phillip rivers to the Steelers
My daddy makes all my business decisions for me too.
0:50 Eli Sucks Eli Sucks. Then u see Eli with that goofy grin. Lmao
RoguePepper 9606 as a player he does suck lol
So glad this happened. Proudly called Rivers OUR QB
I'm glad we ended up with rivers
These quarterbacks were great . So crazy.
Big Ben and Phillip rivers are great. Eli Manning is barely average.
Chargers hustled the Giants (better QB, a 1st, 3rd, and 5th) but still never won a super bowl
Meanwhile the Giants got two, so who really got hustled?
Philip has better career stats than Eli and I believe is the better QB. Regardless, the NY Giants are historically the better coached and certainly the better managed organization. Eli and Archie were right! The Spanos Family are terrible owners.
He doesn’t have better stats in either passing yards or passing tds. Don’t remember which one tho
jasona9 Rivers was the better player but Eli had the better career. Regardless, I believe both of them will be in the Hall
@@somerandomguy5156 well its eli hustled Philip
Look at how young Big Ben was in this video
BOO THE PATRIOTS THEY R CHEATERS
back when he was thin. I never paid attention to when he actually put on all that weight
As soon as I heard that "Redskins Choose Sean Taylor" I knew this was one of the best Draft Classes. (RIP SEAN)
Like I said he's half the player troy polamalu was
@@marvinbush9768 Taylor would've been better if his career wasn't cut short
Ben Roethlisberger
Philip Rivers
Eli Manning
Larry Fitzgerald
Sean Taylor
Wes Weller
Jared Allen
Matt Schaub
Vince Wilfork
Jonathan Vilma
14 years later and the Chargers are still looking for a ring
Yeah, but that is not on Philip Rivers. The Chargers are historically a poorly coached and managed organization.
jasona9 i hate the owners
whats crazy is they had a chance at both mannings ben and brees and their 7 combined rings since 2006 and they got stuck with rivers and leaf and no rings lol and now moved to la..so theres that ...@@jasona9
It's good to know....
*14 YEARS LATER !*
Such a wild deal. Eli and Phil both get drafted and replace 2 HOFs in Brees/Warner just to become HOF themselves.
Goodbye Eli. The official Patriot slayer has left the league and it'll be nice to see him in Canton soon.
Eli Manning is best thing ever happen to my NY Giants,2 SB championships later we have no regrets
Against an undefeated bill belichick too. Respect
All 3 players have had great careers
Don’t forget that other 2004 stud 1st rd qb, jp losman!
chewyismycopilot you had to bring up a sore subject for me.
I like how the rest of the guys were rattling Eli 😂😂🤣
i’m so glad we got big ben. i’m so so glad. thank you 7!
Ben’s still the best.
