Honestly, I want to say retirement has done so well for Eli Manning. I remember him just getting hated on all day every week. Even with 2 rings. Now I feel like everyone loves him. I know for sure I do enjoy him. He has some comedy chops and has good analysis of the game. I think a lot of his haters turned that hate into respect after he retired. Or maybe I'm just speaking for myself 🤣. Love the Manning bros.
Finally he’s getting the respect he deserves I think.
As a Brady fan I fw Eli.
Cuz he's overrated..... Dude won 50% of his games literally even with elite defenses 😂 and he led the league in interceptions how many times 🤔
@@micahjohnson3648 just goes to show that legacy has next to nothing to do with stats when you have RINGS
@@tamamakiiti587 It also helps that Eli like his brothers has a great personality which I think people like more about them is how entertaining they've been post career, that's what most people think of Eli nowadays.
Pat McAfee wanted to ask Eli straight up : “Why the f**k did you refuse to play for the Chargers?”
Then why not ask?
@@viviandarkbloom100 Eli wouldn’t do the interview if asked. Must of agreed prior to not that question
Chargers are similar to the Jets, Jags, Texans etc. A team that never cares about winning a superbowl, just wants to sell tickets/merchandise.
Chargers gonna Charger, nuff said...
He didn't want to live in California.
Chargers trading Eli Manning to the Giants in the 2004 draft was one of the most pivotal and remembered moments of an unexpected blockbuster trade!
Two Superbowl Wins over Tom Brady. Nobody could have ever predicted it. But those are the cold hard facts.
It was fully expected. Mannings made it very clear they weren’t playing for Spanos.
@@aro3275 ya he pulled an Elway.. forced his way out. Told them he wouldn't sign.
@@aro3275I'm from San Diego and I don't blame eli for not wanting to play for Spanos. He's probably one of the worst NFL owners
@@rig2037 if that’s all you pull away from Eli Manning’s career, you’re either stupid, a brady hater, or both. (Most likely both)
Eli is the man, “it would have been easier for ME if they just would have traded before the draft.” Absolute LEHGEND! 😂😂😂
😊I’m 😊kk😊k k😊kk😊k
The Mannings already knew the Chargers were cursed
The fact that Eli came back from 4 down to Birdie the 18th for the win does not surprise me at all. That Boy is clutch.
"The GOAT slayer" lmao
Love seeing Pat interviewing the father of TB12
HAHAHAHAHAHA
I was watching this with my 7y/o son and he asked "why is his desk so messy" 😂
Speaking as a SAN DIEGO Charger fan: The Spanos family are terrible owners and the Manning's knew this. Ever since that draft, the Manning's have been proven correct over and over again. As a kid, I didn't like Eli, just like all of San Diego. But after learning about ownership and looking back over the years, they 100% made the right decision. 🖕 Dean Spanos
The list of reasons is long but short explanation is, Chargers ownership is terrible and the Manning's knew better than let Eli's career waste away here.
San Diego doesn't care about the Chargers anymore. But we have the Padres who have one of the best owners in the game! He cares about the team and the city.
Yall didnt even show up for them over there in SD then cry when they leave for a city yall hate for some reason i seen more fans at a tailgate than in the stadium stands🤣yall have yourselves to blame
Has anyone ever told you you write like a 12 year old? Responding with an irrelevant point dripping with bitterness, and totally lacking punctuation maybe doesn't look as bad ass as you think.
@@isaiahramirez3273 no one's crying. The chargers org disrespected this city every chance they got and pissed off a lot of people who would've been fans over the decades.
@@isaiahramirez3273 I can see how it looks like this from the outside but there is way more to the story. They used to sell out a 70,000 seat stadium even when they were struggling to win. The fans didn't stop showing up for no reason. The team was even battling for a playoff spot during the time that attendance starting decreasing. Dean Spanos wanted to move to LA and didn't care about the city of San Diego anymore. It is similar to the Oakland Athletics are currently going through.
@@isaiahramirez3273why show up and support a team that isn’t negotiating in good faith? Where the people of San Diego supposed to lick the boots of Dean Spanos while he constantly screwed them ?
His dad didn’t want Eli to end up like him, a talented player that gets beat up wasted on a crap franchise.
I mean that still kind of happens but at least he got two rings out of it could have had more.
@@CarnageUndone dude played for the giants one of the top 5 franchises of all time he didn’t get wasted if your gonna get beat up get beat up for a team with talent and the ability to win
Talented player. I guess you could say that for the entire NFL.
Exactly ! He knew that the Giants organization was a huge step above the chargers at that point in time and still to this day .
I believe Ryan Leaf played a role too. How they supported him and handled him during that whole fiasco was a point of interest for Papa Manning.
Eli never sounded so much like Peyton then he did when talking about how he wished the trade happened before he was picked.
Worked out really great for both teams.. both Eli and Philip ended up being phenomenal and both possible HoFers.. so it was a great trade!!
Great for NYG - Phil never finished or slayed Brady
How's a dude with 2 rings 2 SB MVPs against the goats the same as Rivers in your mind?
The type of content I pay my internet bill for
NY Giants legend!
Love the manning bros and gained more respect watching em on Monday nights recently ESPN needs to keep that going
Eli is a funny ass dude.
Thank you for everything eli. Best sports memories of my lifetime. THE GOAT SLAYER. I've never heard that one before!!!
Lifetime Eagles fan here. Eli should absolutely be in Canton. There are a lot of Philly sports people that will knock him and say he doesn't have the credentials...fotgettaboutit. The man has 2 rings, has top 10 passing QB stats, and 210 consecutive starts.
And is a career .500 QB
Lol eagles fan or not, doesn’t mean you know anything. He does not belong in the hall.
@@zacharymarvin4268 Keep telling yourself that. He's going to get in and then you're going to cry about it. It's not like either of us get a say.
@@otacocato he will get in 100% I’m saying he shouldn’t
@@zacharymarvin4268 Glad you agree. You're feelings are irrelevant to reality.
Enjoy Eli and man he took all those sacks late in his career like a champ. Glad he is doing all that he does still.
Eli took brutal hits through out his career. I mean absolutely brutal.
The beating he took in 2011 championship game was legendary and he still came through
@@barbaracarollHis durability was always an underrated part of his play
The GOAT Slayer is gold!
The thumbnail game!!! Yes boys!
Dare I say that Peyton seems to have every attribute you might care to throw in a top sports professional, but Eli got the clutch code which as it turns out is pretty useful.
That tells you all you need to know about this guy.
Eli as always all class
The GOAT Slayer lmaoooooooo
Archie arranged all this pre-draft. There were many comments pre-draft from the Mannings that Eli would not fit in the Chargers system. Thanks.
I think the real reason is because they thought the chargers wouldn’t pay Eli what he wanted
The only reason he didn't fit the Chargers system was because they were in the AFC so they couldn't get a Manning vs Manning Super Bowl.
Well Gil Brandt tells the the story that AJ Smith the Chargers Gm always compared Phillip Rivers to Eli in front of him and it made Archie and Eli uncomfortable
Darren Waller as the best weapon since Plaxico Burress…? OBJ?
Love my QB DIE HARD GIANTS FAN HERE ! He was the QB of my youth !! Miss you man.
Did u love him 2016-2020
People forget the Chargers had thirteen pro bowlers in 2005 I think, they were loaded, and they never won, and that's a testament to the continued mediocrity of the Spanos family, from Alex to Dean, an all round clusterfuck.
Why didn't you ask him about his father saying there is no way on earth Eli was going to play in San Diego as well?
In fact, people were comparing Eli to Elway when he refused to play for the Baltimore Colts way back when he was drafted.
We haven't forgotten.
Giants fans are too busy counting our trophies
You haven't forgotten, but who cares? Eli won 2 super bowls while the Chargers wasted Rivers' careers, and are currently wasting Herbert's
@@Ep1cRainbow Dont get it twisted. I like Eli and personally think he is funnier then Payton on MNF.
But facts are facts about that lead up to the draft and what eventually went down that day.
Me and Eli have the exact same hairline and hair. Problem is that he's got 15+ years on me.
I was young in 2004 when Eli was drafted only being ten years old so I have no memories of what was going on at this time and what the media must’ve been saying when his agent told the Chargers that he wouldn’t play for them and that if they picked him he’d sit out the season rather than playing. I imagine that he probably got a lot of criticism for that at the time but I think his dad stepped in to take the blame for it to try and keep it away from Eli according to comments Eli made in recent years after he retired. The way Eli spoke about it his dad wasn’t the one pushing for him to not go to San Diego and he made that choice but his dad portrayed things as being his fault to try and keep the heat from falling on Eli which is really cool for his dad to do if that’s the case.
But looking back at the events of those times I can’t say I blame him for not wanting to go there. That place was a dumpster fire for young QBs at that point in time and a huge risk for a developing young QB to be. Obviously the glaring example would be what happened with Leaf but that isn’t totally fair because a lot of what happened with Leaf was also caused by he himself but it would still be a big red flag for a guy like Eli. Leaf did a lot towards his downfall there but at the same time he got tosssed to the wolves and the team played hot potato with him which didn’t help his chances. And then they bailed. Then you see them kinda do the same deal with Brees. They bring him in as the starter and he gets a full season where he doesn’t play great but the next season when he’s still struggling they yanked him for Flitie mid season and then tossed him back in. Of course we now know the following season Brees started playing a lot better.
So going there you know you’re basically jumping into a QB controversy from the start. And the fact they’re drafting you already says they aren’t going to commit to you long term to let you develop through your struggles. You’re seeing them do it to guys back to back and have no reason to believe they won’t do the same thing to you. Going to NY he entered a completely different environment where he didn’t get tossed in immediately and when he did get thrown in and had some difficulty had a veteran who pushed the team to leave you in, an extremely selfless move, for your betterment to develop. Eli didn’t really see a solid stat season until the season following that first superbowl win. And based on the time frame of the Chargers he might not have even been starting that season in year 4. They moved off Leaf after 3 seasons and at this time we’re replacing Brees after three seasons. NY was a team that gave Eli time to find a groove that he probably wouldn’t have gotten in SD. So obviously hindsight helps but he really did make a good choice at the time.
Loved the questions about his nephew at Texas and if he has the potential to be the number one overall pick
Lmaoo love the mannings man, some naturally funny dudes
Back then, the draft wasn't at night. If I remember correctly, the draft started at 9am on Saturday.
Most people I know from San Diego call him “Sheli” because he refused to play for the Chargers… Interesting how he forgot that.
As a life long patriots fan I hate him for obvious reasons! 😂 but at the same time I absolutely love him. His sketches on SNL were legendary. He’s so funny and charismatic that it’s hard not to love the guy. He excelled even with the “ shadow “ of his older brother lingering over him. Unfortunately the giants didn’t always provide him with the best team. If they had it wouldn’t surprise me if he had another SB or two. Absolute legend on and off the field and such a joy to watch on the manning cast/ interviews these days!! I hope Arch is able to carry on the manning torch when his time comes!!
Talk about expectations for arch😂
@@mulliano420 could you imagine being him right now? My beloved UT is expecting him to carry us back into relevance/ natty conversation. The NFL is licking their lips waiting for him to announce he’s declaring for the draft. Talk about pressure!!
The trade almost didn't happen. Chargers demanded all the picks AND demanded DE Osi Umenyiora, and Giants GM refused, with SD eventually settling for all the draft picks.
Imagine. If Eli never got traded Brady might have 2 more rings.
Yea good point.. who knows if Eli would’ve been as successful in SD and Philip would’ve been as successful in NY.. and if brady ended up having two more rings his career would’ve been too good. He’s already probably the GOAT of all the GOATS of every sport.. if he had two more rings it would be ridiculous.. like wtf would you call that the goat of goats of goats??
Are you serious ? Eli wasn't the main factor in those Superbowls. The defense was. Eli was never even a top 10 QB in his entire career
@@justinmathewson3692you didn’t watch the games than little bro you have no idea what you’re talking about
Or less. Rivers was a fearless QB. made a lot of good throws and big drives. Rivers D was always flaky and couldn't hold a lead like the Giants D. and Brandon Jacobs being the best power runner in the league was also huge. LT of the Chargers was good like Ekeler but had no grinding game that was needed.
Ty would do a GREAT Eli Impression honestly
Eli looks like Woody from Toy Story 😂 but love the guy
Eli made the right move. Rivers never won a damn thing with the Chargers and it looks like more of the same with Herbert. Its a snake-bitten franchise when it comes to post-season success
Rivers is top 5 in every discernable QB stat, eli isn't lmao
@@iPhearBunnies that’s exactly what he’s saying, regardless of whether or not you think Rivers is better than Eli, you can’t deny that most guys would take Eli’s career with the Giants over Rivers’, and that’s in no small part because of the franchises they played for
@@brianbuckley8350 yeah, no. Eli has a lot of bad history since draft and despite the 2 rings that his team helped him get, his career is sub top 10. That matters make for legacy than a ring gifted to him lmao
@@iPhearBunnies Phillip Rivers, outside of slightly better totals than Eli, did NOT have a better career than Eli lmao. Phil won a little more in the regular season and collected a few more counting stats but Eli's two rings and two super bowl MVPs are much more valuable than the ~6000 yards Phil has over him.
@@kingonipaayt3045 yes he did. Rivers is top 5, eli is not. Rivers was one of the best QBs to read defenses, eli was not. Overall Rivers is better, eli was a shadow of his brother and dad and worse than both.
Odell best season in his career was with the Goat Slayer
Sadly these players dont want to be asked the tough questions. Mannin looked miserable when chargers drafted him taking pictures no smile. Then boom the trade and all of a sudden he was happy big ol smile
Whats with the bud light can on the desk?
Cans been there since last studio I think

If I remember correctly, Eli's camp stated that he wouldn't play for the Chargers and that's why the trade happened.
I remember wondering why he would want to play for the scrutinizing NY media in East Rutherford, NJ over the beach paradise and laid back San Diego market, but 2 rings later and surviving NY he made the right decision. Too bad Philip Rivers put up better numbers for no rings and not even a SB trip while Eli has the greatest SB upset of all time and until Nick Foles had the distinction of the only QB who beat Brady in the SB(and was 2-0 against him).
I would assume the reason the trade took place after Eli was drafted by the Chargers is the Chargers wanted to make sure the Giants got Rivers drafted before the trade could be completed. If someone had drafted Rivers at #2 or #3 than a trade to Giants for Eli wouldn't be possible if the Chargers couldn't also get a QB back in return.
It’s wasn’t draft *Night* it happened during the day lol
That had to be one of the most awkward photos ever taken
It’s crazy how people hate on Eli Manning. One Super Bowl might be a fluke; Eli won 2 and (against Tom Brady) and might’ve won 3 if Odell Beckham didn’t decide to go on a tropical boat trip before going to Green Bay for a playoff game. He also won 2 MVP’s and beat a perfect team; he has to go to Canton.
2 *SB MVPs
Kinda liked he said that the giants was ran good and you know he was throwing shade at the chargers 😊
Lifelong Giants fan and couldn't stand the way he ended up on the team. I get the concerns about San Diego, but refusing to play for them and to pretty much say "I will only play for New York." Just never sat well with me.
Eli lost a lot of respect from the league before he ever set foot in it. There has been players way better than him that have been drafted number one and they were not as entitled.
Love seeing Eli’s personality. He really is hilarious😂
Love It Pat The Pat McAfee Show Bro Big Eli And His Brother Peyton Manning Fan
thank god we got Eli ! I love Phil Rivers, no disrespect, thanks for Eli ! he is under rated, 2 of the best super bowls ever, period.
Love how he skipped the fact that he cried his way out of San Diego lol
My biggest wish for The Manningcast is less guests. Let's just hear 2 superbowl winning QB's dissect the game.
Everybody Sleepin on Bellinger
I do wonder about the reasons for the trade. If anything, I could see Eli not wanting to talk bad about the Chargers or say anything to put them in a bad light.
The audacity to complain about the trade not being "easier" on him when he caused the whole situation in the first place is so hilarious
I heard he didn't want to play in SD.. so, not sure how true it is.
They said Burrow should do the same thing! 😂
Eli Patriot Slayer!!!!!! Long live ELI!!!
I'm glad he's not talking about the birdie golf game that he beat peyton with, not sure how i know about it since he didn't mention it 😂
Damn...Eli looks a lot like that dude Chad Powers.
😭😭😭😭😭"I don't want to play for the Chargers" Eli 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Even as a pats fan, can’t help but love Eli. Hate Steve spagnola though 😂
We need to see if we can trade Daniel Jones for justin herbert
love you Eli but why would the Chargers make it easier for you, when you pulled an Elway on them!? Glad it all worked out and you went to my G-Men!!
Chad Powers could have been a contender.
I cheered as a Giants fan we had alot of bad QBs and i felt we could win a few superbowls with Eli and we did !!! ( i did not draft Eli cause he threw the prettiest ball i drafted Eli cause i felt he was a winner - Ernie Accorsi)
If I remember correctly, Giants got Eli, Chargers got Tomlinson and Drew Brees...who do you think won that?
Chargers already had both of those players prior to the draft. They got Rivers, Merriman and Kaeding with the traded picks
Damn Eli looks like a freshman in high school lol
Az nooooooooo I’m so sadddd
Love Eli
One of those 2 need to be a team owner
Please everybody put your hate aside in 2024 and vote red, our country has suffered enough the last three years.
Love the revisionist history Eli is pulling by ignoring the fact he didn't want to play for the chargers. I'm sure he told Pat that's off limits too.
didnt revise anything lol
Eli one of the most average QBs ever to win 2 superbowls I'm from NYC and a big giants fan but when it came to the playoffs one of the best
Romo > Eli
regular season of course.
The one thing I really did not like about ELI, how his family didn't want to play for the Chargers. Left a really bad taste in my mouth
Would Rivers hace won on NYG? Eli on SD w/MVP Tomlinson, beast oline and Gates? Sheesh. And the Gmen wanted Roethlisberger, they only took Rivers bc they new SD wanted him. What a mess...
Exactly.. And who knows if PIT would have actually taken Rivers if that was the choice they had left 🤷🏻♂️
Say what you will, that's my quarterback! Love Eli
Y’all forgot shocky???
Bruce completely disrespecting OBJ smh
Chargers beat his ass everytime they played him. 0-3 VS The Bolts career.
2 rings, how many did they get?
Eli should have played w Chargers the end
1 ring for each tower.
Peyton's forehead did 911
Wrong. There's 7 World Trade Center towers in New York. You're thinking of Brady
I wanna say thank you Eli, i’m glad we got Rivers instead. Love that man⚡️
San Diego Still hates the Mannings!!!!! but we got LT
Giants fans know there’s only one LT, and he’s in Canton with two Super Bowl wins.
@@uzzieb9984 nah, that's BS.. The Chargers LT is absolutely legit, although he was surely held back in his pursuit of comparable hardware by his franchise...
Either way though, not sure how that is relevant in the context of Eli 🤔
Good to see he still whooping big bro ass go giants
I watched something about that draft and and the Giants really wanted Roethlilsberger if they couldn't get Eli while San Diego preferred Rivers, so they took a huge risk drafting Rivers and hoping a trade happened because if it didn't, they would have missed out on both of their top two choices.
He only got the trade because he's football royalty😂
I want to know why Eli didn’t mention him not wanting to go to San Diego? Made it seem like it was the organizations decision. Yeah his dad didn’t want him going there either but it’s not his choice so I’m reality Eli didn’t want to be a charger and he chose correctly or he wouldn’t have any Super bowl wins lol not even brees nor rivers were able to do it
Chargers fans didn’t even want an autographed jersey from Brees back then and that shit’s going for $500 at the very least now
It’s ok to be a diva if your a Manning , if you do anything that’ll hurt your draft they won’t put it out until you retire if your a Manning
Giant GOAT. Go broncos
Man Giants dodged a major bullet because Rivers could not play in the cold what so ever
Why was he able to do this so easily ?? Without any major pubic bashing
Nepotism possibly
Would have been completely different had he done this when twitter was around. Early 2000s were a different animal.
He had his pubic bashed many times!
maybe because he was a Manning
Same as Elway before him & same as NBA superstars today that force their way off teams. There was a lot of bashing of Eli, even throughout his career, but it happened & it's not like Chargers gave him away for free. They got a haul & a franchise QB out of it too.
