You are a very skilled editor. I would like to see this channel succeed. The issue is that not all of your viewers are advanced/intermediate++ editors. Advanced editors may not need to watch these videos anyway. So if you can create simpler tutorials with clear explanation explaining the 'magic' numbers , this channel can get accepted by its intended viewers....MrAlexTech (His viewer base will be very beginner level editors though) is a great example of how a channel can grow..
I am going to start by saying thanks. 😊 Now, this is a comment that hit the nail on the challenge of creating content. Finding the balance between creating content for growth and doing it to share something that you believe truly educative (that it is or not is another issue 😅). The good news is that we do have that kind of simpler and more focused tutorials also coming but (I had to have a look at MrAlexTech channel), we will always build cool shit. That's our kind of stuff!
I ended up adding a merge node, and taking the first transform into the foreground of that new merge node, adding a background to the background of the new merge and turning alpha all the way down. Then added a rectangle to the merge mask point and inverted the rectangle mask. Viola, had a similar effect. More steps but it works just the same.
If the Matte Control node didn't work, it is very likely (99.99% 😉) that the second Transform was connected to the wrong input, probably the Solid matte instead of the garbage matte one. Now, there is many ways to achieve the same result, just like you did. I can even give you another minimalistic one that you can use in DVR 18. Transform -> Merge foreground and background inputs -> Set the Merge Operator control to Stencil (just like in nuke) and animate/resize with that same merge controls -> Done. Just one node. :D
@@CoreAndBlue awesome! Cool. I was connected to the garbage matte node and the transform was moving, but no masking happening. Could have been a graphical glitch too. Could have been masking but not showing me. I had it do that a few times to me when I was doing the normal method of masking.
Happy May the 4th everyone! We are still working on our custom subtitles so hang tight! 🤟🖤
