No Cali isn’t the problem, she really wants them to start actually making content, many of the people that are mad about it are only mad and offended because they see themselves or someone they like reflected in her lyrics. It’s kinda like the meme that says “I see myself in this picture and I don’t like it”.

Cali was pretty big before being Cali. She worked her ass off then, she's working her ass off now. While Cali has had fortune, it's not all just the luck of the draw. People attacking her for being part of Hololive now, need to realize that the company may have provided her a wider audience, but that's the main thing. People stayed for her.

indeed getting an audience is the first challenge but the real challenge is KEEPING that audience. you have to show the audience that you are worth their time worth their interest. other wise even if you suddenly gained MILLIONS OF SUBSCRIBERS in one day they will almost all be gone by the next few weeks.
Going into Hololive itself is a feat that you can't ignore. Hololive only took 5 talents, max per gen, only First Gen is actually the odds where there's actually 6 before one of them breaks the contract and got fired.
Imagine there's only 5 spot, and you're competing with hundreds. Might be even in thousands since this is Hololive EN, which a lot of people actually waiting in lines even before Cover Corp made an announcement.

And Hololive wouldn't even hire her if it weren't for her hardwork! She just got what she worked hard for and Hololive just became a platform for a wider audience
im not into vtuber stuff but those lyrics apply to a lot of many things in life in general. They're actually really good and inspiring. If anyone is upset by them, they simply feel attacked and are part of the people who prefer to hate rather than work towards their goals :)

Another thing is that Hololive usually requires a good track record of content creation before hand for their applicants so I don’t see how people think that just magically one day Calli appeared and gained followers because of Hololive. Hololives name doesnt always gurantee big success as theres a few Hololive vtubers that get under 1k viewers in their streams at a time which is pretty small for Hololive.

It's funny to consider that some time after the song came out, HoloLive announced their then-soon-to-open auditions for their EN 2nd Generation, and as soon as that was announced, a good majority of those Twitter pages privated their accounts and tried to fade in the background.
Imagine expecting results for doing nothing.
The people who get offended when You call them out on something like that are just pathetic

As someone who's interested in being a vtuber this song is inspiring. It's not saying give up or you can't make it, its saying put the work in to get to that level. It's a lot of grinding, sacrifice, saving, creating a persona that attracts people, it's a lot!! The crowded stage means find a way to make yourself stand out and grab that spotlight
Me too, I thought the song was uplifting. Which was the original intent of the song in the first place. Calli grew up on a very very rough upbringing, all she ever known was tough love. And you can notice how she interacts with Gura and Ina and Amelia, she dotes on them like an elder sibling. She's happier with them. With the song, she wanted to convey her hardships and bullshittery she had to go through to get to that point. If anything, the song is a diss track to her past.
When you just speak the lyrics, it's pretty very clear she's trying to motivate people. It's not your bubbly cute "You can do it!", it's the real shit. If you want to succeed, it's not going to be some magical joy ride, you have to actually try, and keep trying.
I think people are too competitive honestly. I would be extremely happy to possibly find friends and see new types of artist (those who make V-tuber models or 3D modelers in general) get support.
I want to join this community because I love the thought of seeing a new type of art and it’s cool to see people have their characters brought to life.
I might not stream myself but I’d love to contribute!

I agree people are really stuck on numbers. Honestly I would like to join because I like to think of cute fun characters to play as and I’m insecure to do it without a model. I think the art is so beautiful and the people that are vtubing are really talented.

God I had to disassociate myself with vtubers because of this. It's so ridiculously competitive and negative, and this is as someone who made small assets for vtubers looking on not even as a VTuber. They really need to relax and focus on becoming friendly with their audience and community instead of getting upset over numbers and seeing everyone as competition...ofc I've met plenty of vtubers who are sweethearts and are learning to do better but the worst of them are just so loud, y'know?? It's dissapointing to see how bad one person can get compared to several trying to do good.

That's their problem if they feel attacked. Calli even said in her stream that the song was probably the most uplifting she had written thus far.
Funny thing was, she also mentioned in the celebratory stream that she made the song for herself, somewhat of a self-motivator. Calli never intended to make it as a diss track. Like I said, if these "Vtubers" feel offended, then they are guilty of something and they're just taking it out on Calli to compensate for their wounded ego.
As a vtuber who is about to celebrate there 10 follower celebration, Her song motivates me to work even harder to gain more!

It's funny cause Calli's been on RUclips for at least 3, She's been working on her music since the very first beginning. She realeased at least 3 albums, with less than the quarter of her current viewers in her original account. She learned japanesse and toured all around Japan and USA. She's worked a lot to make her dreams come true and in her originis she even Made songs critiquing people who only complain but do nothing. Ironically that's what they've been doing.
She worked so hard in her previous career that all of her music is written and composed voy her, even the music vídeos are deawn and animated by her. She even has 2 jobs apart Hololive. If someone knows about starting since Zero, is her
Great analysis. This also become relevant again with Neneka's situation. She's basically just using a still image with very basic eye and mouth movement and she's too poor to afford to have a L2D. Yet she's working very hard to make a living out of it because of her situation prior to becoming a vtuber.

She's retiring her Neneka persona because of some disagreement within her circle about the direction she wanted to go. Idk the full details but it's a mutual agreement within the circle that she'll go full indie. She will remain on her old channel so no need to worry about finding her.
It's kind of a long story about her situation prior to her two month break but you can find more info on the virtualyoutubers subreddit.

@@FBR2169 Well, I look at some billionaires who inherited all their money and will do any horrible thing imaginable to get more, and I definitely think they don't deserve it. There are two primary groups of people in the workforce: People who make money by working, like Cali, and people who make money off of other people's work, like a corporate owner hiring a CEO to manage his company and making billions. Those at the top, especially in a competitive marketplace, will do anything to keep those at the bottom on the lowest rung of the ladder. Sometimes, even people's best just isn't enough to overcome systematic issues that are designed to prevent the common man from attaining the same level of success as the born rich.
I respect vtubers that really put in the work, and to see their journey unfold and their channel grow.
And I feel happy to be a little part of it.

something the vtweeters do not seem to understand is
1: just because you start bandwagoning on a new trend and add it in your nickname does not mean you will automatically get followers on a silver plate
2: i do not know for sure if this is mentioned in some type of reddit post,stream or something else but apparently it has been revealed a part of the hiring process is that they must already have some level of success as a streamer and/or content creator so cover/holopro does not just hire someone randomly
3: calli was already succesful as an indie before joining hololive
4: they will get help with marketing and exposure by being part of a company but even if you had the best marketing, if you do not make good content you will not be able to keep the viewers and the subs

This video popped up in my feed the other day, and I have been trying to push myself to become a vtuber, and follow through with my goals. Your take on this is definitely what I think Calli was mostly going for, as you pointed out it's really inspirational and should be taken as a motivation to work hard. Taking offence is honestly just being insecure as the song conveys a message of overcoming and rallying.

Well put! It is a lot of work, especially in a saturated industry. I'm not a vtuber personally but I understand this from a developer pov. I've worked 7 years to get where I am and I'm fresh out of college still grinding so I can go from my current indie spot to a AAA job. It takes work, sacrifice, and unfortunately, health may fall in the mix. Everybody at the top was once at the bottom. They just outperformed the rest to get there and didn't stop improving once they hit the top.
Dude, this is inspiring af! I've been trying hard to grow and some problems in my daily life make the grind a lot more difficult and exhausting than it would already be. I didn't understand the lyrics that much when I first heard the song, but after your explanation of them I feel more empowered to keep going. I thank Calliope for the inspiring lyrics but I also thank you for bringing them to my attention ^w^

This is a meaningful video, I'm a musical artist aspiring to be a soon VTuber, so just having the reminder of there's room for everyone to grind and become great IF they are willing to put the hardwork in is always welcomed to my ears. It is intimidating seeing established VTubers and their numbers, and stressing because I know I won't nearly be close to that starting out. But I have to remind myself that it's because I'll be starting out... It's the same in music! I've been creating music for about 5 years now, doing everything I know and can to continue growing the best I can, and I'm nowhere near the level of an established artist. Does that mean I don't enjoy the work I do? No! Music is my number one passion and I wouldn't trade my journey for anything else in the world, and I hope my journey as a VTuber only elevates the music side of me. I love gaming and anime so this new path just seemed to click, whether or not I see 100, 500, 1,000, 10,000 subscribers... I just want to enjoy playing games and making music and sharing my passions with those who feel the same as me!

I saw her song as encouraging and sound advice for people wanting to actually BE creators, and a dis-track for the fakers who feel entitled to success with no effort.
And from what I got on her appearance on 'trash taste' channel, she moved to Japan (with little language skills or support) to follow her dream. Japan is NOT foreigner-friendly. So, she earned her success after years of grinding on HARD-Mode. I've got nothing but respect for her dedication and talent as an artist.
People who don't admit/see the insane work she put in to get where she is, obviously can't look beyond their own entitlement and self-absorption, and will never understand what it takes. Calli's wisdom is lost on them - they will always be losers.

Did anyone else see that image on screen?
This makes me think of 4 things:
1. 50% or 80% of these "Debut TBA" V-tubers were doing it for clout or just for some attention.
2. The fact that #vtuber trend has been around for like a year because mostly this. ( Correct me if I'm wrong )
3. Twitter doesn't even care of fixing their platform. They don't allow V-tuber's playfully bantering each other but they allow real-life trans-phobia or harassment. ( Twitter is such a cesspool for a long time )
4. They do this because they saw V-tuber's were getting famous or more money.
In order to close this, here's my opinion ( BIG letters incoming ): JUST BECAUSE IT'S A TREND DOESN'T MEAN YOU HAVE TO DO IT. Look yeah V-tuber's were getting famous, but you no need to become a V-tuber to become famous. You can just stream without an anime avatar. ( Just look at any famous RUclipsrs ) But if you don't have the confidence to become a V-tuber or having mental problems, FORGET IT and find something else that suits you, who knows maybe You'll be good at other things than becoming a youtuber to be famous.
Sorry if I sounded harsh a little. I'm not into V-tuber's but I understand it's demographic, although it has it's niches. I also not going to stream on RUclips if I have free time because I need to fix my anger problem that has been lurking inside me for 5 years now, as my mum said " The number one of becoming success is your attitude, the last is money." But who knows: Maybe one day I'll become one someday, but now I must focus of controlling my anger.

Calli is inspiring but it's people pike you that give foundation to that inspiration you are inspiring and I hope others find that strength you have and find their own through it

The coastal areas of the Balochistan Plateau can
be divided into eastern and western parts. The
eastern part comprises the Lasbela Plain which is
marked by gravel and sand dunes. The western
part is known as the Makran Coast where the
Makran Coast Range projects into the sea and
forms a narrow coastal plain. The important riven
are the Hab, Porali, Hingol and Dasht, which filo
into the Arabian Sea.
