13:59, I'm sorry, that's not a 200 dollar commission. I've seen Instagram artists do WAY better commissions for $60. That's not to say Instagram artists are above or below Butch Hartman, but it's funny that a professional artists is pumping out shit a hobbyist could top any day. It's not the price that's an issue, it's the quality you're getting with that price. Yes, he is a busy man and is very experienced and professional, but with that said it shouldn't like an 11 year old's fanart OC drawn on their iPad in Autodesk Sketchbook.

As someone with autism and a pretty heavy case of it, it's very life-impeding. I am regularly confused by people who say it isn't at all "negative", though that is true to a point. However, it's not just "a little" harder or impacting, it's pretty severe, gets in the way of me ever working a full time job, I am easily overwhelmed to tears by loud noises, too much movement, strong smells, etc. I have trouble understanding people, and socializing in-person is hard and awkward even though I really want to socialize.
I find it does a lot more harm than good to my daily life, even though I have changed how I do things to accommodate my autism and how I work. I am literally on medication to help tone down the excessive symptoms like the sensory overload just so I can get through the day and handle my part time job.
It's very hard, and I know others with autism who struggle like me. I understand that you only mean well and kindness with your statement and viewpoint :) but I wanted to give you a perspective from someone who is regularly debilitated by having autism, and just how severely it can affect someone.
But saying it can be cured away by prayer or is worse then death just understand either.
It is a disability, but it's not an illness that needs 'curing' it's a disabilty where people need help to lower the symptoms, therapy to understand how neurotypical life looks like.
It can suck, it can suck alot, but it's still worth living. I think (I personally) that's what she means when she says what she says.

I was diagnosed in early childhood, and needless to say me and my family had obstacles to overcome. I also come from a Christian upbringing (Catholic, to be exact); a major teaching is that "God" creates us exactly the way we are, and we're supposed to have faith in and trust this plan of his. Well, if he did deliberately create me with autism (or at least allowed it), then I want absolutely nothing to do with my so-called Heavenly Father!

Uhh selling fanart is still copyright infringement... It's just that these titan companies can't be bothered to shoot down the thousands of people selling fanart as it doesn't really effect them negatively, though some of them will and have 100% asked artists to stop selling fanart. I even heard that conventions require you to have 50% or more original merchandise because they know that it's illegal to sell fanart.
I saw Ryan Gosling at a grocery store in Los Angeles yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything.
He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?”
I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying.
The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.
When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.

To think there's a cure the autism, you're completely wrong because autism is just a part of what we are and we are living it.
You think it's miserable to have it, but some of us arrive with our disabilities. Some, yes are needed help with daily things like cooking, showering etc. But we're still people no matter what and it's not your place to think you should ""cure"" our disabilities. It's stupid and low to think about it.

Right, I hate how people with disorders and shit (especially autism which... I'll be honest, is really oversimplified to have the entire spectrum bunched together) are treated like subhuman simply because their brains work a different way. Just because someone has trouble with learning, communication, paying attention, mood, whatever the hell kind of symptoms you could find out there, don't try and push this ideal that "oh, they need to be cured". It's kind of sad how a lot of people keep trying to push this narrative.

As an autistic girl, thank you! Autism is how our brain works. It can be hard, but especially hard because of people like Butch who put us down. I’m tired of people like Butch talking about shit they don’t have a clue about. It took a while, but I’ve found acceptance in my autism and I’m so grateful I was diagnosed. I was born autistic, as all autistic people are, but I didn’t know until later in life. Boy, I wish I knew sooner!

Autism is so complex and it has many effects on my life, but it always has. Since I was born. I just didn’t know it until later! That doesn’t Make it bad. I have great observation skills, and an above average memory. I have sensory issues and social issues, which suck. It’s tough having difficulty with emotions but I am still a human being! I’m sick of the stereotypes. People think we aren’t empathetic, but I’ve been told I’m extremely empathetic. The difference is I have to understand the situation. If I don’t understand the social issue, I won’t have anything to empathize with. The worst part is how people see me for it, not my autism itself. I wouldn’t be me without it. I’d be someone else. If you tried to “cure” autism, you’d only be hurting and maybe even killing a person!

I just wanted to say:

I’ve been told my art is so bad and low effort and I ended up charging 2.50$ max...and well now I know that my art probably should be worth more-so thanks
Firstly, gonna say thank you, i use CSP and i didn't know the Duel line brush was a thing and you just saved my life if i can find it xD your art is soooo cute. i love the level of detail you put into the line art.
If i could " pray away " all my issues, i would lmao. having the ASD, ADHD, Dyslexia, OCD, aphantasia combo ( and some physical issues ) is THE worst, it makes literally everything a challenge. and my dyslexia and aphantasia and ADHD are getting worse over the years making art and learning techniques to better my art increasingly difficult and its starting to get frustrating. autism isn't a mental disorder, its having less brain development than the average person, which impacts a lot of things including giving you learning disabilities. i think a lot of people like to be like " autism is just quirky and has no real down side " but that's not really the case, you don't just think different, it impacts your ability to learn and understand/comprehend things, some more than others but that's what autism is. your brain is that of a child for far longer than a normal person, it ages slower than you do. its like putting an elementary school student in high school and expecting them to be able to understand what's being taught. if you have NO learning disabilities whatsoever and have never had real struggles in school from the beginning, you probably just have a mix of other issues like ADD, as a lot of traits/symptoms overlap between the two. heck, having learning disabilities in general doesn't even mean you have autism, it could be a number of other conditions like dyslexia, which is another learning disability that a lot of people don't even know they have. I'm considered " high functioning " in terms of autism and this is my own experience. it IS a spectrum, but i don't think its possible to be like, 1% autistic lol, either you have it or you don't and the severity varies from person to person but there are always going to be a down side to things like learning, even if its not severe, its just a part of what autism is.
don't get me wrong tho, i am happy with WHO i am, i dont mind being " weird " and " quirky " what i do mind is all the disabilities that come with these issues. i'm 30 and have never had a legit 9 to 5 job, and growing up with these issues constantly clashing and having no support system resulted in having pretty bad anxiety and depression which makes those issues worse and harder to handle. i would much rather work hard every day and be able to function properly than to have all this free time and not be able to do f*ck all myself. i don't exactly like being called " lazy " because i can't work a real job lol its almost worse being " high functioning " because people have higher expectations for me because they think i'm " normal " and the symptoms aren't obvious enough for people to give me a free pass for my inabilities.
People like this dude need to keep to themselves. you can't pray away shit, especially not magically make a brain more developed lmao. i do see /why/ people want to " cure " autism, it is a nuisance and i would much rather not have it myself, and i know a lot of other people agree there are negative traits they would rather not have, like struggling to see social ques, and keep friends, and think coherently, but people should also be allowed to be happy being who they are personality wise. autism doesn't make me, ME. i am me regardless. making my brain function better wouldn't change who i was for the worst, especially in my case also having ADHD and dyslexia, i would still be " quirky " lol. but if someone doesn't want to be "cured", then that's their choice and it should be respected.
i'm totally fine with the concept of there being a cure for those who DO want it, but it shouldn't be forced on every single person if they express that they don't. if your child has super obvious autism at a young age, then i think a cure would give them a better life and i feel that would be the right thing to do by the child. but if its mild, and someone like me grows up without it being diagnosed early, they as an adult have a right to keep it if thats what they want, its not like its going to kill them or is contagious lmao, its genetically passed down, but not " contagious. " it does not negatively impact strangers by you simply existing.. 9_9
you can raise a kid to be quirky and have special interests, you can't raise a kid to have a better functioning brain to make life easier for them. if there was a cure, and i knew my mom chose not to give it to me if she knew i had autism as a child, i probably wouldn't forgive her for how hard life has been because of my disabilities. and that's coming from someone considered " high functioning " idk maybe my having ADHD and dyslexia just amplify my symptoms, but if i could get rid of the disabilities, i would in a heartbeat.
Imo, if its not hurting others, respect what people want for themselves and their body/life. its their choice not yours. don't misunderstand your prejudice for compassion just because you think it might be " beneficial" for those people. only they know what is and isn't beneficial for them.

I met a music artist I really loved at a music Festival he performed at (I was 16 at the time) . He was just standing near the stage having drinks with a person I befriended at a Festival aswell, my new found friend waved me over, I said hi to the artist, being a lil shy. And He called me a dumb sl*t and told me to f off. I was crushed. I refuse to Listen to his music since that incident.
After that i met a lot of other artists through ny job and some are genuinely nice ppl from what I can tell. Like macklemore, that guy is super nice. 🤷♀️

Had an art idol i love to the point i ended up stalking without knowing i was glad i realised too late when they blocked me but i wish they could of justtold me to fuck off instead but i suppose they are just too busy to respond but it helped me realise how obessed i can become and how unhealthy it is i kept trying to do art my idol could do but now i can do my own art in my own style and made me realise its my art. And it made me realise the only approval i need is from friends and family

My idol is a person who’s just like a kid in a world filled with people they look up to. They’re relatively new at their craft, and learning things as they go along. They’ve made it really far and that’s why I look up to them. Also they have the absolute best personality.

Yeah, my heart was recently broken after one of my longtime favorite creators was shown to be a very transphobic person. It absolutely crushed me, because even though I am not transgender I fully support the community. I genuinely thought that this creator was a good person... but they don’t quite meet up to who I thought they were.

@Ruby Red, thank you so much. Your outlook is so optimistic, something I am not (quite the pessimist here) and it really made me smile. Sometimes it’s hard for people to change, but maybe there is hope (one day). For now, I just support the creations not the creator.
@Ruby Red While I agree in general with your message, and it's well written and thought out, this isn't true in JK's case at least. People need to choose to change, they don't get a pass becaused they're "products of their time" when they are not living IN that time anymore. She's had many, many years to change. She is directly harming transgender communties and individuals with her rhetoric and is also rejecting any attempt to politely educate or help her to understand. She doesn't want to understand or to be accepting because she's a bigot.
I agree with you that many older/ignorant people who don't quite understand the nuances of LGBTQ+ identities and individuals are not inherently bad people. Those, however, that use their huge platforms to spread dangerous and misleading information, and refuse to change or apologise for said behaviour, are bad people. There is a difference.
