Hello everybunny! Decided to try a double dose of videos this week, with one going out early and hopefully one going out this weekend as well. This is a personal story that happened a few years ago.

My uncle did unspeakably horrible things to many women over the course of his life starting as young as 13 years old. He now has stage 4 cancer and can't get chemo. My family is relieved, and for you to feel the same is absolutely valid.

In general; i think its fair to be relieved after the experience he put you through - While it is upsetting he passed, It’s not your job to be sad for the person that stalked and harassed ya for so long .-.))

What a sad story. He did some horrible things but I don't think he should have died. He should have taken your advice and went to therapy. From you told in the story it was very obvious that that kid was very lonely. It's sad that he was lonely when he was alive and still lonely when he committed suicide.

@Sa3dee Ape man Dude, you're literally dancing on someone's grave based off "what-if" scenarios. I'm not going to start a flame war here nor will I reply after this. That guy didn't deserve to die. There are much worse people in this world. If you're willing to wish death onto him does that mean you will wish death onto people who've committed literal crimes? You're way of thinking is a real slippery slope. It takes a long time for people to change and it was clear that that guy was alone with barely anyone to put him in the right direction. You obviously dont know how much being alone can fuck someone up. I honestly can't believe that anyone would wish death onto another because they're a stalker. I would only wish death onto legitimate psychopaths that have murdered several people. Not the "what-if" school shooter you've made up in your fantasy.

I'm sure it's normal for people to feel relieved if their stalker isn't around anymore. I have never had a stalker and I hope I never will. It's really heartbreaking to hear these kinds of stalker stories. I'm glad you were able to get rid of him. Also I love your art. It gives me so much inspiration for new drawings

You are completely valid for feeling relieved that your stalker is gone. You have the right to feel happy and secure irl and online, sadly things like stalking do happen. Especially in the era of the internet with information being only a click away. ʕ´• ᴥ•`ʔ

My mom always tells me "if you ever feel threatened, or unsafe, be a bitch." Her words helped me a lot. I try being nice and respectful, but every time I felt unsafe, or dealt with my childhood friend (who turned into a stalker and made me fearful for 5 years), dealt with a friend who emotionally abused me. I did what I was told, put my foot down, put them in their place and never accepted their bullshit.

while it is sad how he passed, i promise you have EVERY RIGHT to feel relieved that someone who put you through that kind of hell for so long won't be putting you through that anymore. if my stalker died i can imagine i'd feel the same way. obviously it's important to give his loved ones time and space to grieve - like you said, they've done nothing wrong and most likely didn't know - but it isn't your job to mourn someone who stalked and harassed you for years, and it absolutely wasn't your job to put up with his behaviour even if it would've saved him from dying that way, because your feelings are as important as his is and that's just not a fair thing to ask of someone.

It's a really bizarre relief when someone who tormented you died. I had a similar situation happen to me too. A kid who had _severely_ bullied me in middle school got shot and died within a couple years of graduating high school. I remember feeling furious that my classmates were pretending like he was some amazing person who had done no wrong. No, in reality was that he was a complete asshole, a narcissist, and a bully. I don't know why he got shot, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was cuz he did something stupid. I struggled with the fact that even though he was a dick, he didn't deserve to die especially in that violent of a way but at the same time I didn't feel bad that he was gone.

Having had two stalkers myself, I fully understand that you felt revealed when he passed away. Having one who stalks your every move is scary, you did everything in your power to try and stop this, but universe did it sadly for you.

Hi Yuki! You're really brave for telling this story. I can't imagine how scary it was having to deal with the stalker. What happened is absolutely NOT your fault. You did the best thing with setting your boundaries and blocking him when he crossed the line. You deserve to feel safe and happy. I'm wishing you all the best, luv!

I'd like to share an unusual perspective: I almost became a stalker once. And it mostly was due to lucky circumstance that I could work my problems before I did anything I would regret.
Stalking is caused (maybe not always) by an obsessive love disorder(OLD). Actually most of toxic behaviours associated with love, like jealousy are caused by it.
OLD can be broken down in two aspects. One is getting lovestruck. The thing is you can't really control it and once that reactions in your brain have activated, its very hard to get rid of. But it is by itself is manageable.
The second part is obsession. That's where it's getting hard. You get intrusive thoughts about person of your interest and you can't get rid of them. No matter what you do, not matter how you try distract yourself, that person's image pierces your mind like a needle. It genuinely feels like a terrible toothache inside your mind. But even that, by itself, would be very manageable.
The worst thing is that this obsession is directly fuelled by low self-esteem. And the moment you realise that these thoughts and actions are terrible your self-esteem plummets down and it becomes a living hell. I couldn't function and literally was trying to climb on walls. And the only thing that seemingly can take that edge off at least for a little is interacting with the person of obsession, somehow, anyhow. And then you get even more ashamed of those compulsions and symptoms get even worse. It is a terrible vicious cycle.
I got over it through a heavy sleepless night of self-reflection and contemplation, but if you notice these symptoms, really consider going to therapy and taking medication (yeah, anti-love drugs actually exist).
If someone close to you shows these symptoms remember that self-esteem is the core of the problem, do not pity them, try to socialize them and make them feel better, but blatant condescension can make things worse. But there is a risk that you'll become the object of obsession, so thread carefully.
Yuki did everything right. You can advise them to get professional help in a serious, non-aggressive and non-condescending tone if you feel very generous, and then cut all ties, every interaction will make things worse for both of you at best and they could be legitimately dangerous at worst. It really isn't your problem to deal with.
Thank you for sharing this. It's shone a little bit more light onto the stalker and how they feel and how hard it is to deal with those feelings and/or actions. With some of the replies saying how the stalker deserved to die, it's nice to see someone showing part of the other side of the story.

Nah, you did the right thing, you did what most people wouldn't have and told them straight up. I had a similar experience and it left scarred to the point where I'm super weary of any new person I meet online for fear that it's that one guy. People in general, BE CAREFUL WHO YOU GIVE YOUR INFO TO!! If you met them on social media, keep them on social media!!!!

this story made me cry man. Ive had a similar experience, with an ex friend being manipulative and using possible suicide as a way to make me talk to him and make him feel better. I haven't talked to him in years, but even know he didn't make me feel good and pressured me into things. If he did end up passing away, how would I feel? I would feel so guilty, like what If I stayed, what if I didn't block him.
Then he would have made your life a misery.
i had an eerily similar situation with an ex friend. this was almost 6 years ago now but he still lives really local to me. i jump out of my skin every time i see him.
You deserve to feel relieved from his passing. While it’s sad that he died and definitely not a good thing, you were stalked, he scared you and made you feel unsafe and that’s unacceptable, regardless of his own mental health. It’s perfectly fine and I’d say normal to feel better knowing he can’t find you again. You doing your best to keep his identity secret and not let his family/friends know how he acted is already more than most handle. You’ve shown a lot of grace in how you handled the death of someone who was actively harassing you and you should be proud of it.

As someone who's also been stalked online(though thankfully not to your extent), feeling relief is completely understandable. He treated you horrendously, stepping over various boundaries. You've been respectful to those mourning, and that is all you need do. The fact that you worry about him going after you, even after his death, is a testiment to how much this affected you.
You don’t have to feel bad for him. It’s not your job to, you’re not responsible for anything to do with him. I think you did a pretty good job with telling him straight up that you didn’t like what he was doing and that you set your boundaries.
It is however, an upsetting situation and I do not wish something like that to happen to anyone, even people who have done bad things to me. But I think it’s okay for you to feel relieved that someone who gave you a hard time won’t be doing that anymore.
All in all, you’re very brave for sharing your story.
Someone that harassed me and groomed me (I was 13-15 he was 17+ at the time) passed a while ago. I had him blocked on EVERYTHING. And I found out because someone I didn’t realize was a mutual friend posted about it, how it was so sad, the world lost a great person, etc. and it made me feel so gross. So uncomfortable. That’s the legacy he left. A “great person.” I can’t tell anyone about it now. I have to suffer with this for the rest of my life. It’s the worst feeling. The relief is coupled with the grimy heavy weight of all the things they’ve done.

As someone who's been harassed a few times during my life and tried countless times to try to find different ways to deal with situations no matter how bad it could have been, I wouldn't feel any sympathy for Jamie. It does still suck he died young but harassing someone's life out of enjoyment is uncouth for me.
Had an ex friend who turned into a stalker after I cut him off for being creepy and boundary invading. I understand all that paranoia. Honestly your relief is justified- it wasn’t your job to help this guy in the first place.

This hits hard. My story is completely different from yours - he wasn't a stalker, but he made my life in high school terrible for the whole time we shared the same space. All the years spent in high school, I was scared of him jumping out of nowhere, hitting me, saying terrible things with no care in front o everyone. One day, years after we both graduated, I found out he died in a car accident and the mixed feelings I got that day are something I really wish I won't feel ever again. To an extent, I feel sorry for him, but gaining back your freedom counterbalance the feeling greatly. Keep doing great Bunns ;-;

i have a story similar, but not nearly as horrible. i had a friend who asked me out practically every day, spammed me, and would not leave me alone. it made me resent him. when i moved out of town i ignored all of his texts. a couple years ago his mom called me, told me he died in a hit and run. i still have his last 'hey' in my phone.

i went through the nearly the exact same situation only a few months ago, i can really sympathize with you on this one. You feel almost guilty for not responding, but the things they’re doing don’t feel right and they make you uncomfortable. It’s such a hard situation to deal with and i’m glad you were able to get through it!

Compile and document all evidence, do not engage with him as much as possible, and if you feel your life or well being is in danger, go to police immediately

Yukibunns yeah that’s what I’m doing, I keep blocking them and I change my information all the time and they still find me
DO NOT answer them in any way possible. If you do, you're enabling them to continue doing what they're doing. Answering them shows to them that you're interested and they will keep on messaging you. Ignore that person and make sure to warn your friends in case that the stalker tries to get your info from your friends.
I don't know if this will help but I would recommend telling some family amd friends about this. I hope things get better for you.
I also had a stalker (on goddamn Miiverse of all things???) and let me say: The relief of not having to deal with those kinds of people is beyond words. I'm glad you're okay and hopefully nothing like that happens again.

Mental health for men should be taken more seriously. I personally feel like he felt like he couldn't go to therapy because of how society expects men to suck up their problems and deal with it, or it had been so deeply ingrained in him that he couldn't go to therapy.
From personal experiences, stalkers like that are usually extremely mentally ill and need help, but its so hard to get help nowadays (even without the mental health stigma against men) and usually if they don't get therapy, them (not necessarily men but people in general like this) wind up killing other people, hurting other people beyond repair or kill themselves.
In a way this is kind ironic because women can open up more but will be more neglected medically and more often attempt suicide and have sever mental illnesses. While men do have a hard time opening up, they are less likely to attempt and less likely to develop severe mental illnesses. And especially, we shouldn't always forgive mental ill creeps. Like in this story, the guy was depression, but he still harassed a girl, and it's unfair that he could be defended. As someone with extreme bpd and depression and used to have serious dependency issues, harassing someone is inexcusable.

"I asked my sister who was friends with his brother" casual side note, absolutely do not keep mutual friends between a stalker, people unwittingly leak information or don't take it seriously if they're still in their life. Obviously its harder for a sibling to choose their friend over their sibling but yeah.
Tbh I think he committed unalive because he got ousted down the road, with these guys often the case is "they aren't creepy because they're alone, they're alone *because* they're a creep". Guy got off on being able to hurt people and get away with it due to anonymity, his girlfriend being shy/insecure doesn't feel like an accident, I think she was getting it worse behind closed doors. Abusive people can be shy/insecure, doesn't make him harmless.
but yeah its a quiet relief when a stalker goes out tbh, there's not enough legal ramifications to make them meaningfully stop

It's honestly scary because each instance could be fairly innocent, but when you stack each moment, layer upon layer, it clearly becomes manipulative.
From my work experience, I can say he was unwell. It's unfortunate how things went down and that his family did not see(?) or address his issues. Changing his pic to a childhood photo? recalling times when he didn't feel alone or confused? Possibly. Either way, all this actions was his and his alone.
The relief you're feeling is really all the tension you've built up over the years. Tension that you didn't deserve. It may be awhile but I hope you'll be free from some of those anxieties.

You're allowed to feel weird about the passing of someone who threatened you for so long. You're allowed to be relieved. That kind of delusion isn't something you could have helped.

i had an experience over the summer that was similar- although it never got this far. he made me uncomfortable and kept asking if he could kiss me or cuddle- and i’m not very comfortable with that. he knows where i live and idk. he said things about how i’m not like other girls. i blocked him on everything- which i feel bad about, but also... idk
Rather than feeding his fantasy just show him that you are the wrong choice.

I just wanna say, that I was watching this while drawing an OC of mine named Jamie. After hearing the name you gave the stalker. I was kinda shocked at how it was a weird coincidence er stuff like that. Like- how I- 😅
I had a stalker, and I understand the relif when it's over, luckily mine didn't die, but it's fine to feel relived that yours did. I would have felt the same if she had, to be honest.
Yeah, what everyone can get out of this story is that if anyone starts to give this weird and obsessive interactions with you, don't reply and just block the person. Don't be passive about cutting the person off, be direct and honest about how this makes you feel and that you don't want to stay in contact. Also if they continue then take legal action instead of waiting to it escalate to a dangerous point.
And like this case, the most you can do for the person is suggest going to therapy and leave them to take care of themselves. You aren't obliged or responsible to strangers physical or mental health.

I understand why you'd be relieved. I've had someone who convinced me I was being stalked (I wasn't) and that I was going to get kidnapped (I wasn't). After I broke ties with her when I found out she was lying, I was relieved to find out that she switched schools and has little to no friends. I was thinking that karma finally came. I understand where you're coming from.
This is a horrible experience, but I think you did the right thing by blocking him everywhere. The truth is, that our first and foremost priority in such cases should be making sure that we and our loved ones are safe. It was the right call imo. Relief is also an understandable feeling, after all there was no way of knowing if this would escalate further eventually and life has shown enough examples of it happening already. It's scary and can get very dangerous. His passing is unfortunate, but it is not your (or other possible victims') responsibility.

It is sad that he passed away in such a way. HOWEVER, you have the right to feel relieved. His passing does not invalidate the fear he caused you or the harassment you experienced. I’m pretty late to the video but I remember that guy in the twitch chats, he always weirded me out and my brother described a guy at his school exactly like him, I’m glad he isn’t bothering you anymore but it’s very sad that his family has to deal with his death, if only he could get the help that he needed.
Just know that his spirit could come back and haunt you, but I'm glad you're safe and okay ! You could also do something about it and it would work if he did come back and haunt you { speaking as a witch who has peak interest in spirits :3 }
you are completely in the right to feel that way. What he did to you was wrong, creepy, scary and unhinged, you should not feel bad being relieved that a person who tried to hurt you and other people cannot do that anymore. This person cannot hurt you or anyone else anymore and it’s ok to be relieved or even happy that you and others are safe from them. You were very respectful of the family’s grief and are allowed to feel safer in a world without him. I hope you are feeling safer and better now, thank you for sharing your story ❤.

i mean, there is a reason to be happy about it. This person was probably a predator, preying on innocent women for his own pleasure. In my book, these shouldn’t step a foot on this world.

You never know how it feels until it happens to you. You’ve always heard stories of getting stalked or hit on but you never know how scary it is until you’re in that situation. I’ll give some tips that might help you if you’re in that situation.
1) if you go to a party that ends late at night make sure you are not alone. Stay with the friend until you can get picked up.
2) if you feel like you’re being stalked, pull out your phone and call someone you know will answer. Don’t say you’re being stalked, cause that might end badly and you don’t actually know if they are stalking you.
3) if you’re being chased, don’t go to your house. Go somewhere public. If you go to your house, they’ll know where you live, and might hurt you.
4) don’t ever get into someone’s car unless you know that it’s safe. Not all cute guys are harmless.
5) if you have an Apple iPhone, you can press the off button several times, which will allow you to get to an emergency number or the police.
6) don’t run in heels. If they are chasing you, take off your heels and throw them at their face. You stop them for a little while and be able to run without tripping. Plus, if they grab the shoes, their finger prints will be on it, so the police will have a better way of finding the person.

She was mutuals with my friends (who didn't know I was being stalked) and I felt SUCH relief. I wasn't even a little sorry she was gone. (She didn't pass from su*cide, not that it makes much difference)
I was only sorry my friends lost someone they cared about. I think it's possible to grieve for others even under your relief o3o

It's ok to be relieved at his passing. At the end of the day there's nothing you could have done for him. His damage was his and he legit did wrong to you and you bear no guilt in his death. I'd advise seeing a therapist to help process your feelings on the subject so you can move on and not have him living in your head rent free still. Be well
Being stalked is one of the most mentally taxing things you can ever go through, speaking from experience. Its not wrong to feel mercy on a person's death or harm-- even someone whos hurt you as such like that. However, its also not wrong to feel liberated from their grasp aswell. Regret still lingers in the back of my mind that I didn't help them enough from hurting themself (despite the fact they tried to keep me captive as theirs for years via threats). You are not alone and will never be alone in this. Please take care of yourself in turn.
Stalkers suck. Sad he didn't get therapy or help. But he's no longer going to bother anyone else. It's sad. His parents are complete failures and are probably going "OHHH we should have paid attention to him instead of having the internet be his babysitter"
God.....It's the worst thing ever to be remembered in a bad light after you're gone.... try to always be nice to others and do good deeds cuz you never know when your time's up. I'll still ask God for forgiveness upon him regardless. but I hope you're okay, however, it is ok to feel relieved and safe after knowing he's gone cuz he has done an unacceptable thing and he should've gone to therapy indeed.

As a person who has been stalked its definitely not a fun experience but always remember that things will get better and document everything that happens and any social media that they have.
Also its sad they have actually passed away, hopefully before the passing they actually learned the error of their ways.

I know it may seem terrible to seem relieved someone you personally know is dead. But in your case, it is completely valid to think this. I am vet sorry this happened and can not imagine what you would be feeling.
The things people will do when they're attracted to you scares me sometimes. I had this one kid come into my work once who I recognized from school (I'd seen him staring at me a couple times and knew he'd gotten in trouble before) and had a short, awkward conversation with him. Four days later he messaged me on my instagram, which i didnt give to him, and didn't have my face, name or any personal info besides my pronouns and a nickname that i didnt publically go by. I still dont know how he found it but after about a week he tried to convince me to date him even after i told him I'd just broken up with my girlfriend (i identified as a lesbian at the time which makes this so much worse) i stopped responding to him and he went quiet but about a week ago he randomly tried to message me again. It's been a solid year since we stopped talking and i left him on read lmao.
that's really sad
it was probably really stressful
