I'm glad youtube recommended me this! I actually wanted a more simple-like and straightforward video but felt overwhelmed when actually looking it up.
    Great video

I'm going into the concept art field and would like to second your comment on photoshop. It is not meant for painting, it is not meant for drawing. I only use it when I know the project is going to be huge and require lots of... you know... actual photoshop uses like photobashing. I don't understand why a photo editor has the art industry cornered like this when there are so many better options made for graphic art. Clip studio also offers a one time payment and can do everything photoshop can in terms of drawing.

i'm already a painter but clicked because the thumbnail art was so pretty, and seeing the timelapse at the end, i need to know: what brush did you use for the lineart? my best guess is a modified artemus chalk, but i can't seem to get my texture to look as emphasized as yours does. i absolutely love it!

@@moldwood it's Artemus chalk soft tilt I'm pretty sure! Did not modify it!

@@stinkichigo huh, maybe i just have to change how i'm holding the pen to make the texture be less smooth, i will have to play with it to see. thank you so much!

To add more to what ichigo said about contrast and backgrounds... that specific observation in art is known as aerial or atmospheric perspective :)
