- It took me 6 years of trawling to collect all these tips. Please do with them what you will. Another disclaimer that these are all based off my own process and art journey, some may be relevant and some might not be! I hope you all get value out of this quick watch regardless.
Thanks to Clip Studio Paint for sponsoring this video!

the white washed marina jumpscare oh my god😭😭
I already knew all of these but this video is very nice to watch
Fr, I'm intermediate and an art student, but this is a good reminder ^^
i’ve been trying to improve my digital art for awhile now so this video came at the right time!! plus its so cool to see my name at the end😌!
A small personal add-on to tip 2- try using gaussian blur on your sketch or use an airbrush pen when drawing it. That way the lines are less clear and less intimidating to translate into proper line work since you don't have to commit so strictly to what your sketch is
EEK these are all so good!! I think my favorite tip to give out is to use a vector layer when doing line art as when you resize it it doesn't lose its quality! ^_^
3:23 NOT THE WHITE WASHED MARINA
a jumpscare, i was devasted when i got mine lmfao💀
No melanin in sight ☠️☠️
A TRAGEDY
Another good tip is to change the size of your line art, by having all the outside lines thicker and inside lines thinner adds some more flow to the art :3
OOOO the lighting part was actually really helpful
I learned some new stuff! THANK YOU ZEPY!!!
i knew everything here but i will NEVER skip out on a zepy upload...
wish youd mention some keybinds tho :-) !
the "C" key is your keybind for the transparent brush color
Space + Ctrl while dragging to zoom in and out
Space + Shift while dragging to rotate the canvas
Ctrl + Alt while dragging to change your brush size
i use CSP as well so these might not translate to other programs tho ive seen at least the first two work for some like firealpaca if my memory is serving me correctly
ok love you byebye :3
Zepy, I just wanted to say a few things !!
Thank you so much for just creating! I have been watching/subbed to you for around when you had 20k or so subscribers. Your art is so pretty and your tips have helped me so much and I have always loved how you read out your streams when they happen!
personally for borders i like to use layer property > effect > border effect
bc its easier to adjust the border thickness & you can even draw on a layer with the effect turned on and the border will surround what you're drawing automatically
7:30 clip studio also has a built-in border layer effect, which imo usually turns out a lot cleaner than doing it yourself :p i usually put the effect on a flat layer below my colors
where is the built in border layer effect 😭😭
@@HeartsNini it's in layer properties! it's above layers in the default layout and the button is a circle
if you're on a tablet it's only in studio mode, not simple mode
The animal crossing sound effect made my brain wiggle thank uou
AGRHHHH TYSMMM I NEED THIS AND IM NOT EVEN JUST STARTING
This video is amazing, I love how you edited it! I loved the little skit with the pen pressure in particular, pen pressure needs to be talked about more often in general

[ unrelated ] Will you ever have proper made captions on your videos? /genq
I love ur videos but i have issues with my hearing and the automated captions aren’t always reliable
I'll absolutely look into that! I'm on a mini health hiatus at the moment but when I am back its on the to-do!
@@zepn1 thank you!! Also I hope you’re doing well on your hiatus :]
how do i use the app? I have it free bc i refuse to pay money. But the layout is so scary theres sm stuff,l
Good work precious zepn1
these are such lifesavers :sob:, but does anyone know how to do a line pressure like effect without a stylus? (aka finger only)
In CSP at least (not sure for other programs) you can set brush size/opacity to be affected by pen speed instead! This could be an alternative :)
I know you changed ur thumbnail🤭
