    Hi Captain, Doing some catch up watching of your vids! I'm down for a few weeks due to shoulder being replaced. Watching all your vids I've missed out on, is just what the Dr ordered!! Sure enjoy watching y'all rip some lips! The Bear footage was amazing, little bit of a pucker factor going on too!

I'm sorry to hear about your shoulder troubles - I hope the procedure went well and that you are back on the road to recovery soon. I imagine it must be tough given how many things in a day involve moving your arm/shoulder. Hopefully these fishing videos provide a brief distraction from the medical stuff!     Sure looks like the halibut population is in good shape. Do you think the chickens are more tender and better eating than the 70 pounders?

      Hi Brian thanks for watching and I'm glad you enjoyed this halibut action! Yes indeed - at this spot the halibut were quite plentiful! Chickens are definitely very tasty but obviously have less yield than a 50-70 pound fish. The 50-70 pounders still taste wonderful but also have fillets with nice thickness. It is hard to beat a "nice chicken" in the 30-50lb range in terms of table fare! Happy New Year and tight lines in 2024 my friend! Captain Zac

      Hi Bradley Happy New Year and thanks for stopping by! I'll mention this to CAPT Mary haha. Yes - I actually grew up in PA so I return every year for whitetail hunting there. I got a nice 7pt with a rifle this year but have also taken countless archery whitetails over the years. I had some close calls with Sitka Blacktails and Black Bears this season near Juneau but no harvests. I'd love to get into moose hunting but that is proving hard to break into. How about you? Any hunting on your end? Tight lines in 2024 my friend! Captain Zac

      @@bradleyeis7319 Ah too bad to hear about the limited hunting opportunity locally. Wyoming would be way more favorable for hunting! Alaska does have great hunting - it just takes years to learn the ropes and I've spent WAY more cycles fishing in Alaska than hunting here. I'm sure I'll learn more and more each year!

      @@bradleyeis7319We've been here about 10 years (initially partial year and now we live here) however I've been fishing up here every year for a few decades. The world class fishing and amazing wildlife was definitely the draw to move up here. A week or two each summer just wasn't enough! Perhaps you could consider moving to Alaska one of these days?

      Hey @robbiekingston9055 that's not a stupid question. I either cut it up and keep it for crab bait or I deposit it back into the ocean (right off the cleaning table at the dock) for the crabs and fish to eat. Either way, it doesn't go to waste! I'll often keep rockfish and cod rib cages and bellies for halibut bait. Tight lines my friend! Captain Zac
