    I'm kind of confused, I wanted to see what the images from the pringle lens looked like but not sure what part of the video it was on, just looked like you made it and then it cut to the other one being made?

    Haha Pringles pinhole lens on the camera, interesting! You explained it so well. This is the first time I truly understood how it worked 😂

    Cool video! We just made a similar chip can pinhole lens, didn't realize you'd already done one! Great channel!

    Would coating the inside of the Pringles can with matte black paint (ie Culture Hustle's Black 3.0) improve the image quality, by cutting down on light diffusion off the inside walls?
    Also feel like it wouldn't be too hard to build on yours by making a series of telescoping tubes to truly create a "zoom" pinhole lens instead of a long prime lens.

      Great insights, absolutely you are right! I think that's also partly why the smaller (wide angle) lens gave so much cleaner results. Cheers mate

    Worlds best camera?!? It’s the worlds best sports camera which means most of its goodness is in its focusing capability. Definitely not the worlds best camera for what you are doing. Fun project though.

      You are right. I know, I recorded it in 2018. I'd say at that time it was arguably also the best video powerhouse (with AF).

    A 'zoom' lens is one that changes focal length.

    • @ctoLarssonTECH
      @ctoLarssonTECH  4 года назад +2

      You are right and I know, it was sloppy use. The correct terms would have been long focal length lens.

      @@ctoLarssonTECH I made a pinhole camera which actually has a "zoom" front panel. With that Nikon, you can also attach a macro extension bellows, and/or extension rings for a range of focal lengths. I like your project and had my English students in Norway making pinhole cameras. "English students" ?? Yes. They had to write a complete report on the project, in English.

    Hooked, viewing all your videos now :) Was that a standard lens cap drilled? Will try out your pinhole experiment.

      Thanks a lot, appreciate it Alex. Yes a standard cap, but if you are getting a spare one, make sure to get the *body* cap, not the lens cap.

    2000 euros for the camera. 2 euros for the lens. At least I can start by buying the lens. ;o)

    As cool as the pinhole photos and videos are... I am still reeling from the guy trying to cut a lens cap with a driver bit and then a self-tapping screw. Are actual drill bits so precious that they are not commonly available in parts of the world?

    • @ctoLarssonTECH
      @ctoLarssonTECH  4 года назад +3

      Yes sometimes we go into a mode of "I cannot because..". What I absolutely loved about that sequence was how someone with no means still made it happen. If I go into any shop now that I'm back here in Stockholm Sweden, they will tell me "no we can't do it because" even if they have a shelf full of drill bits. There's a big lesson in that and it makes it one of my all time favorite clips. (Also I think it potentially worked better than a metal drill bit, which has a less pointy end to bite into the right spot, and melting plastic could stick to it.)
