- This film about the Boston Marathon bombing is Peter Berg's 2nd biopic in 2016 about recent tragedy....I think the guy may have found his stride as a director. Here's my review of "Patriots Day"!

Damn Jeremy, pumping out sooo many reviews lately.
BMV The Movie Fanatic Here's the task Go in broke, come out with cash
lol You have to give him credit, even with all those dogs barking.
Better than Angryjoe
twistedmetalplayer21 his reasoning for such low quantity is pretty poor too. i feel like he really doesnt do it as much cause I doubt he enjoys it anymore, but its been like that for the last 3 Years so it doesn't really matter.
Except for Moonlight and Manchester by the Sea! I honestly don't understand why he refuses to see them. If it's because they're straight up Dramas, then I may lose a little respect for Jeremy. At least Chris Stuckmann has been reviewing everything.
i need a worst movies of 2016.......cmon man
If Jeremy does the list like he usually does, you'll get the best movies on Boxing Day and the worst one or two days later.
YoungBlaze Of Chitown I think he does it right after Christmas
Big-Bonkin-Head I see what you did there
Not sure what #1 will be because there have been a lot of shitty movies this year. :o
number one will be "Suicide Squad"
"Come on Boston bombers, take an interest in science!"
SwabbleSocks what??? Noooooo..........
Anybody here like hotdogs?
Jonathan Conk I like hotdogs...
I love you
..this is pure brain washing crap lol
'12 years a slave' is one movie that I just couldn't watch again!
The Plastic Paddy you racist?
The Plastic Paddy or are u joking
The Plastic Paddy kidding or ?????
mukhar ghosh I agree, too boring to watch twice.
Yep, that was a hard one to watch. Similar to watching Schindler's List.
Schindler's list such a emotional film I don't think I can watch it again.
Bissy yeah some movies you only need to see once and it will be their for ever
I could probably watch it again, but it won't get any easier.
Bissy Yeah. I watched Patriot's Day and at times it really made me feel the same as when watching Schindler's List for the first time. Just the style of both of them were so amazing and impactful.
I felt the same when I watched Requiem For A Dream the first time. Some movies that's been so well done and sends you through a rollercoaster of emotions it's difficult to face that exact same feeling ever again.
I need a good eyepatch. no any places?
So that means Peter Berg has now had two Awesometacular films in a single year?! damn...
Dormammu Wahlberg and Burg. best duo.
Dormammu Peter WahlBerg
what was the other one
H1K8T95 Deepwater Horizon
Diego Vallejo or just Wahlburg
I was a spectator at the 2013 Boston Marathon, and I walked past the finish line about an hour before the bombs went off. By the time I heard the explosions, I was two blocks away. I just saw this movie yesterday, and the beginning was pretty hard to watch, but in the end, I really loved it. Easily one of my favorite movies of 2016, and a very respectful, moving biopic. Definitely worth checking out once it gets its wide release
My favourite cold open yet.
JIMBOTHY for some reason I remember you for a troll EE years ago lol.
Oh hey JIMBO! I was just checking out some shit and here you areeeee
Jeez Jeremy’s dogs are little but they are LOUD little puppies
If Peter Berg is so good at directing biopics about recent tragedy's, he should do one on the making of Batman v Superman.
XD
James marsden should play Zack Snyder
👏👏
Just Batman v Superman? He should do one for the entire DCEU.
Movies about recent tragedies... starring Mark Wahlberg.
Gypsy & Danger seem to encountered a level 5 Kaiju!
DefinitelyNotaPervert you were expecting a dog, but it was me, dio
😂😂😂 Gypsy and Danger just love to bark don't they.
Do you expect them to recite poems? they're dogs, bruh 😂
Noe Hernandez How the heck do you know the their names lol.
He did a Q&A a while back
that's what dogs do.
Must be an Aussie thing, do Jeremy's bark at the same person repeatedly and give mixed signals to people; "hey pet me while I growl at you at the same time?"
Maybe Peter Berg will make a 9/11 related movie one day.
Paul Greengrass beat him...and it was terrific!
supermariofan03 Surely the 2010 film, Remember Me was the best xD.
God that story is boring though...
Elijah Pw it's the worst
Elijah Pw considering how sensitive americans are about 911, i doubt it.
Hollywood really knows how to capitalize on tragedy.
LordVader1094 its really fucked
Tragedies make effective films, it's that simple
Yeah, fuck the schindlers list and son of saul, all made by capitalist pigs
Unfinished Sentenc these are based on historic events made by people with the intention to educate and move an intellectual audience. I don't get the same feeling from a Peter Berg picture, the director of cinematic atrocities like Battleship
starkingbiker Pretty much every director has their share of bad movies. It doesn't automatically mean they are a bad filmmaker.
Edit: Wait a minute, are you seriously saying that with a Howard the Duck pic?
Hi Jeremy, I was touched and got sentimental watching this movie. I lived there for three years and 2001 Boston Marathon was the first ever marathon race event I watched live, I was there in Copley Square and love every minute of it and it got me to start doing running. Thank you Peter Berg for making this film, it is something we have to remember. Not the hate but the love. Not the horrific explosion but the unity. #bostonstrong
Great movie I can only watch once: Zero Dark Thirty.
Peter Berg becoming one of the best directors at telling heart-wrenching true stories with Lone Survivor, Deepwater Horizon, and Patriots Day.
Let's not forget The Rundown. Kidding.
Absolutely one of the best of the year. I'm a Boston native and it particularly hit home for me, but even based on the filmmaking quality this movie is excellent.
tbh I haven't heard about this movie till now. :/
I need to get out of my rock.
Same for me
u will be under a rock if u watch it and belive it. im serious.
Totally agree, worst movie I've seen in ages
Really that bad? Lol
Excited Cat I mean there's the Resident Evil movies....
Merry Christmas Eve, everybody.
Matthew Cool and to you too
Matthew Cool you too
You too
Same to you!
Matthew Cool it christmas now
next video: jeremy with dog's blood in his hands
0:08 The face that says "dog please shut up"
notification squad where yall at!? get blown up bitches!
Dashie Plushie DACHIE DACHIE
Dashie Plushie fuck off
Dashie Plushie You go Dash...
Here in 2022… almost six years later. Just balled my eyes out watching it. It really hits you and hurts so bad what happened to those people.
Whalberg has definitely earned an Oscar nomination or two this year. He's great. Can't wait to see Patriots Day.
I honestly doubt it.
This film seems a bit...exploitative
tropicAces I felt the same way
tropicAces can't you say that about any historical event films I.e. any war film?
Red you're missing the joke man
Nara Narada explosive?
it is..and its a staged event too..
boston tragedy is a scarring moment
hollywood: we can make profit off this
thats what I thought.
I think the opposite. To me it honors those who died and treats the victims with respect. Think saving private Ryan, or Lone survivor
your a heartless gutless SOB you are so wrong
No. Peter Berg wanted to make an emotional film based off of a tragedy, and I think he succeeded. I loved this movie. It's not Hollywood exploiting a tragedy for cash.
Destino they did at the end even though it’s only 3 ppl it still was cool to see that
Everybody's making jokes about the next disaster biopic. How bout 'Trump: The Movie'?
Dirvinator propaganda is not an argument
Assuming humanity survives his presidency, sure.
how bout justin bieber the movie
Anime Knight being ignorant isn't a virtue
I think We need more lead women in movies. We can't let holly-wood go sexist on us.
There shud be end credits scene with Adam Saleh rooting for the bad guys!
I watch this movie last night on Netflix this is the most realistic American Tragedy movie since United 93. Those kind of movie I would only watch once because it’s so intense. And for the people who actually experience this event of what happened that day I don’t think they could experience this movie because it would take them back to that day. Great movie but it’s hard to get though.
I can't see myself watching 12 Years a Slave again within this decade
Really? Does the phrase "Too soon" mean anything anymore? Can you imagine what that's like for people who went through that shit? "Yeah we're gonna sit down and enjoy this movie about the day your life was ruined." Fuck me.
5carecrow94 Wahlberg tried to pay tribute but the direction was still too much for most of us Americans..
5carecrow94 it was a tribute you moron
i agree. as someone who is from boston, this movie is too soon
Yea I don't have to imagine, because I already know... Nobody was injured, there wasn't even a real bomb, it was a controlled explosion and a hollywood style display! Don't take my word for it, ask the boston globe why they tweeted about a controlled explosion moments before it actually happened!
Idk I felt like it's too soon to make a movie about this subject
DarthAndrew520 i feel like its a dumb thing to call something too soon when they arent making light of the situation, i mean even if it is too soon wouldn't it make it a more impactful movie and more compelling one too?
Dude, it's been three years. Even the last memorial service for Collier was a small affair.
20GRIZZ20 bc the case is still ongoing. Dzhokhar Tsarnaev is still appealing his case and he cud later be proven innocent which wud then destroy the whole narrative of the movie. Or looking at it from the otherside, if the legal system is fair, tsarnaev shud get another trial but since a shitload of idiots wud have already seen the movie it wud just be more engrained within them that tsarnaev was indeed guilty when hes actually not. Im sure if ur case is still ongoing, and ur contesting it, u wudnt want someone to make a movie about u commiting the crime.
Watch the intro of this video with no sound. That's some good actoring.
You don't need to watch these reviews I swear, you just have to look at Jeremy's face in the thumbnail
Lorcan McSharp haha true him and stuckman just look at their faces. i do like to watch for the full criticism though
As a Bostonian....I don't think I want to see this soon yet....
Is Carlos Aredondo depicted in this movie? I love his little accent. You know, he ran along side a guy who had BOTH legs blown off but was sitting upright in a wheelchair even so. And Carlos was squeezing an artery shut on the poor double amputee, I mean victim.
looking for my eyepatch. have you seen it? Contact Robin @ HowISee TheWorld. REWARD $..
Can you please review Westworld?
@Jeremy Jahns : you and Chris were two of the few things that stayed awesome through 2016. Thanks, man.
The Pianist is, in my opinion, one of the absolute best movies ever made, but I've only watched it once, and may never watch it again. The experience I had watching it was so real and emotional that I want it to live as a memory of a passionate retelling of an historical event, not as a movie. Adrian Brody gave the best performance by an actor that I have ever seen and it shook me to my core. That's a movie I only need to watch once.
The only real tragedy was that poor old guy that fell down and scraped his knee....and our 4th Amendment rights. Who wants to see a movie about that?!
Grave of the Fireflies...amazing movie but you can only cry so much
so another solid performance by Whalberg, he is really making his mark on Hollywood😏
It's a trap! You mean he's making his Marky Mark on Hollywood. 😎
its a trap !! 😂
But no one can forget The Happening
Ringbone 1.61 what? no.
I'm kidding
I'm supposed to be playing Game of War but this one player keeps kicking my ass
was it the OverusedJoke27?
Akhtar Zamil Sirajudeen I think thats it. Seriously, it needs to die.
Akhtar Zamil Sirajudeen Actually it was TheLegend27
Orlando nightclub shooting. I predict Peter Berg will direct it and the film will be released in 2018.
It's starting to become really common to have a movie based on real life tragedies and that is kind of weird. What's next? Paris attacks? Brussels attacks? Nice attacks? Maybe, just maybe, only americans are willing to do movies based on american tragedies.
goduxunike It's a difference in mentality really. In Europe it's a taboo subject to capitalize from tragedies even for patriotic reasons. On the other hand, such films really boost the Americans morale, they find them uplifting.
As an American myself I do conquer with this. I too want to get into the movie business and if i do I think I would do something like Peter Berg is doing.
It really does boost American morale. Then there are the liberals and SJWs trying to make us hate our own countries, but yeah.
luckyday465768
So, my guess is that you are not an Oliver Stone fan!
panatha tube
I thought he was done with making movies.
yea Peter Burg should just do biopic movies. Deepwater Horiozn was amazing. and Lone Survivor was great too. can't wait to see Patriots Day. also Wahlberg and Burg are great together
Diego Vallejo I heard a rumour that they are collaborating for a Six Million Dollar Man reboot. I hope that's true.
This movie was shot on location in my hometown, South of Boston. They recreated a Boyleston street set on a former military airfield, it's all just roads and clearing now. I never went there the day they shot but I remember seeing the set for weeks afterward.
2AM for me here,
Jeremy uploads a video, gotta watch it !!
'The Bee Movie' is just one film I couldn't watch again, because it was so sad.
And Shrek 3
***** You don't remember Shrek the Halls? My personal favorite film/spiritual experience of all time.
I can't watch Requiem for a dream again..and it is a great movie.
'Grave of the Fireflies' is one of the most beautifully animated and emotional films I've ever seen, but there's no way in hell I'm going through that again.
Ive been subbed to this channel for like 2.5ish years and just realized how good he is with hand gestures.
For me it's probably the godfather. The film is a masterpiece but since it's so long and has a pretty slow buildup, I can't really see myself watching it again. That film is still fantastic though.
I watch it all the time, it's one of my favorite movies, just fast forward the wedding and you'll be good. But if the movie bothers you for that sole reason, I wouldn't recommend you watching part 2.
I never understood how The Godfather is considered a masterpiece. It drags like hell and that tampon face Don Corleone is so ridiculously overacted that I have to laugh instantly when I see him. Seems to me like a "the emperor's new clothes" kind of deal, where everyone just regurgitates how great it supposedly is without daring to point out the numerous problems the movie has.
Jigsaw407 Same can be said for most of the Star Wars films.
The Godfather is my favorite movie of all time. I've seen it at least five times. The more I watch, the more I marvel at how brilliant it is. It's near perfect in every way.
so glad he uploaded something. I can't sleep and wanted to watch RUclips
Keep up the great work Jeremy I love your videos and hope you have a happy holiday
ty for the video.
13 hours was one of those movies. I am looking forward to this movie.
good to see kevin bacon again.
I dont care about the Ocsars because Jackie Chan and Leo D'Cap already got one.
lol, the dogs!!! Happy Holidays, Jeremy!!! =)
Jeremy, was that Gipsy or Danger in the beginning of the video?? That intro made me lol.
A lot of 3 hour movies for me are movies I can only watch once.
FAKERIOTS DAY ... BOMBS That only ATTACK the trousers
Merry Xmas from Canada! Can't wait until the top 10
I would like to thank you, Jeremy, for these videos. You have been a great reviewer and a great entertainer if you will.
I was in Boston when it happened - I remembered the whole city was on lockdown, and I was starving, and I couldn't get food anywhere because all the stores were closed . . .
Subr Subrr unluggy uce
ker rit
You poor thing.did you survive?
Barely.
Subr Subrr lol
You should cover the Emoji "movie" trailer. It made me consider drinking bleach.
The Mother Fucking Emperor No.
That look you had about your dogs used to be the look I had when my dogs would bark non-stop.
Now one of them passed and lets just say I wish I could hear his bark one more time.
Enjoy their precense. A dogs life isn't forever, but they make your life whole while they are there.
Merry Christmas Jeremy!!
Best fucking intro
50 shades of grey. Too many brains cells died the first time
lol snap.
1:12 And that's why we all love and subscribe to you Jeremy. If we wanted the sterotypical high-brow critisim-analysis of a film, we'd just go to Rotten Tomatoes and pick out any film critic's name at random.
Peter Berg is the biggest current example of a director that really proved everybody wrong, when he started out with Battleship his name was pretty tainted afterwards and a lot of people thought he would just be the next big crappy action director but with these true story dramas it seems like he found his stride and a lot of people seem to respect him now
Mark Wahlberg playing a Boston PD Officer hehe.
So can I expect a review for Kill Bill Vol 1 & 2 in 2017???
Stinkyfish Poop Nope, he doesn't have a reason to review it.
Wait why? Is volume 3 coming out?
What they need to release is Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair. Only had a small theatrical release.
Both of Peter Berg's movies this year are awesometacular
Haven't seen Patriot's Day, but the best movie I'm never gonna see again is Nightcrawler.
Jake Gyllenhaal's performance is so mesmerizing and horrifying at the same time that it is already forever burned into my brain. I don't need to put myself through Nightcrawler again to relive it.
JEREMY WATCH WESTWORLD SEASON 1
patriots day will only get nominated just because of what it was about not if it was a good movie.
***** maybe according to him but other reviews have said this movie was innacurate
KotorFan3231 The Social Network is probably the most inaccurate movie ever but it's still a phenomenal film. Just because a film doesn't follow everything to the last point doesn't make it bad. Every film based on real events will be inaccurate unless its a documentary
Brad Wright no this film is also just bad. This is supposed to be a factual documentary. Social network was a film.based on a true story there is a difference. Those films are not the same. This documentary was innacurate misleading straight up false at some points. Very divisive and overall just terrible.
KotorFan3231 This isn't supposed to be a factual documentary. Its supposed to be a film that respects the events and the people in them. Guaranteed you haven't seen the film
Brad Wright must have pasted another comment I meant for another video here. Sorry I apologize and yes I've seen the film.
Was this 2 uploads in a day? Its a Christmas Miracle
Okay, right off the bat... Hands down greatest video intro on youtube to date!
Why do you need a fkin movie about this...
ViceVersa Youre a dick
Gotta get the future generations to believe it was real!
why alex?
LuckyKid96
A few people here believe their own senses and not what CNN told 'em...
I would have been happy to stand 10 feet away from that "bomb". Pure pyrotechnics, bad acting, fake blood and one guy carrying his own prosthetic leg that was supposedly ripped off of his body in the blasts.
Don't even get me started on the bitch who claimed to be a dancer that lost her legs who was actually former military! What a story! The dumbass public ate it up with a damn spoon...
God you're ignorant
ViceVersa
No they didn't.. That's the point!
The Boston Firecracker
I'm from Boston and live 15-20 mins from Boston and I remember when the bombings happened and how shocked I was to hear abt them
I can't wait until this tragedy is all but forgotten about then turned into romance drama followed by several kid-friendly cartoons.
My bdays Christmas Eve
The actors who played the boston bombers were great....they gave a better performance than anyone else on set
Three reviews from Jeremy in a day.. We are all blessed. 👼
This movie comes out on January 13th not everyone is a RUclips sensation and gets pre showing tickets. I guess us commoners will just have to wait.
What a huge load of phony fake fraudulent entertainment.
How can a bomb be powerful enough to blow someone's legs off, yet does nothing to people standing right next to this person? Hollywood, that's how. In a B Movie with poor special effects this would be considered normal. In real life, this cannot happen.
0 advertising for this in Australia, no idea they were even making this movie.
high on the must see list now.
I'm surprised that the Watertown gunfighting scene isn't too overly dramatized (besides the numerous IEDs) & even more surprising is that the movie shortened the "panic" firing of the boat scene.
Shouldn't Bacon's quote be "This might be a false flag."?
'tinfoil’ is another word you have been trained to use in order to reject those who cast light on the corruption of your government and the media it controls.
Or a word that describes your fashion sense and metal state with use of one word.
You are tossing words out like your grandmother’s fruit cake. Slow down and compose yourself. Big Brother has gotten you so emotionally attached to his narratives. Go take a look at the evidence. This event is so glaringly a false flag, it’s disturbing how people have fallen for it hook, line and sinker. Take a look at the mercenary agents that were on duty that day. That’s a good place to start. It was all a set up.
You have no actual information on this subject so you resort to bar room bravado. I’m not afraid of you here or in person. You are too easy to take off your feet, just with words. If we were back in Germany during WWII I would be one of those who are facing off against the NAZIs and you would be saying the same thing to me then that you are saying here and now. It’s called being a NAZI sympathizer.
First off having a grandmother that survived a camp...fuck you. Secondly you have nothing, the tinfoil theories have been debunked but police, FBI, and eye witness accounts. There were no actors despite what your kind claim. These were real death, real injuries, and real evil at work. The reason I say go and say it (Be sure to film it). Is because decent people won't put up with your crap. They'll become so enraged by your audacity that they'll kick your ass for calling their tragedy fake. Your kind are the ones too easy to knock down. As your only power comes from your "Detective" skills from your computer in your parents basement tinfoil.
A movie based on a government run Psy-Op and designed to validate said Psy-Op.
Thumbs The Fuck Down !
Stop The Psy-Ops
For a second, I thought Jeremy didn't like this film because of the silence he did at the beginning of this review. But then I realized I was hearing a dog barking in the background. Lol
At the beginning I had my sound down really low and I thought he was doing that at the movie
This guy commented on the trailer that the bombing was fake and it was made by the government...MY FRIEND DIED IN IT.
Bullshit.
michael donaghey what, do you not believe me?
That's right.
A movie made off a movie...
grave of the fireflies seen it once and that was when I was 11 or 12 and I am 27 and I dont think I could ever handle watching it again knowing what is gone happen.
Merry christmas Jeremy!
