This is such a great sign! After so many years of fewer salmons and so many tries at restauration, we are getting there. I know, I have read the reports from the old days about "so much salmon that you could walk over a river". We are not there yet - but we ARE on the way! Makes me happy to see!

@@richcoutu801 Fingers crossed we see better runs than the past couple years on the Fraser. It was nice to see that there was some restoration done last year on the Adams River to improve water flow in some channels to help improve spawning habitat. Hopefully you can get your drone out there again in 2022!

@@nmah19 Yes! Absolutely so happy to hear they did some clearing and improvements for the salmon and I will have to ask for permission from the Park Rangers to do this again, I do have a licence from Transport Canada, so I don't think there should be any issues :)

@@richcoutu801 The large Adams river run occurs every four years. God willing you will see another one this year. The next three years will be disappointing, and if the cycle continues 2026 should be just like this. Salmon runs are somewhat cyclical (Except Pinks which are a strict two year cycle) and unfortunately the runs that come between this one have been absolutely decimated. Historically every year should have looked like this.

The Adams river is closed for all salmon fishing including catch and release. I fish too, but you need to understand catch and release has a mortality to it. Between 15-35% depending on how well you handle fish. This run is the last of its kind in the world. We shouldn't mess with it at all.
