    Spot on Toby! I use my 250D on surveillances and the battery goes on forever. It is a super camera when used with the right lens and within it's limitations.

    Great review! - I'm still loving my Canon 250D. One benefit of DSLR I don't believe you mentioned is relative cost. As loads of people are ditching DSLRs (especially compact DSLRs) in favour of full frame or mirrorless cameras, you can pick up some bargain second hand lenses. I got a great deal on a used EFS 55-250mm lens and I'm super happy with it!

    Good video.
    I bought a 250D to use with my T7 and love it. I have an assortment of EF and EF-S lenses that work with both.
    I don't plan on mirrorless because of cost and don't want to have to purchase new lenses or use adapters.
    My go to lenses with both cameras are my 18-135mm and 55-250mm.

    Nice used review of the 250D.
    I just bought a brand new 250D this year. Though it's more of a lateral move coming from a 100D, i wanted it's Dual Pixel AF and Vari-angle screen, which my previous DSLR doesn't have. I also decided to stick with the EF mount, because all of my lenses are EF & EF-S Glass. I mainly do cosplay portraits and don't really need all those raging high fps most Mirrorless have for now.
    Indeed this camera is light, and paired with an EF-S 24mm, you can no longer feel it's weight.. It's one of my fave lenses aside from the nifty fifty STM and Sigma 30mm Art.

    • @ootnaboot2
      @ootnaboot2 Год назад

      How much of a difference do you find it compared to the 100D?
      I have a 100D which I use for Street Photography with the 24mm ef-s or the 50mm. I
      I have a Nikon full frame as my main camera.

    • @moeaerofoilweeb8794
      @moeaerofoilweeb8794 Год назад

      @@ootnaboot2 image quality not really much i guess.. though i'm no-go in pixel peeping or so in cropping.
      It's a bit larger & heavier than the 100D though, the rubberized grip feels kinda cheaper and the body has more plasticky feel overall.
      Dual Pixel AF, Vari-Angle Screen & Wi-Fi are the reasons that pushed me to switch.

      @@MakoyUnggoy it is better, it has eye tracking autofocus which makes a pretty noticeable difference, and it also has xlean hdmi outpur, but still, m50 is not bad,
      I will go for the r50 for sure, it got much higher dynamic range, 4k30 with no crop and full dual pixel AF and also the rf mount which is much more future proof and it has no record limit and also supports 10 bit hdr pq video.

    I just took my 250D w/24mm pancake lense on a holiday to Istanbul, Budapest and Rome. From morning to late evening I'd still have 30-50% battery left. For that reason im glad i picked it over the M50. It's small and tiny, it is almost the same size as the upper end Lumix m43 cameras.

  • @Jakeisinthepool
    @Jakeisinthepool Год назад +2

    I still have my 250d, in terms of photo quality, it has a very good photo quality. Autofocus can do better but its good.. since it uses DPAF 1 and not the 2 version. Still the DPAF1 is much better than other brand camera AF new release cameras. The only thing I regret with sl3 is that its crop sensor, one card slot, no battery grip and its a dslr. I want to use mirrorless and new glasses so bad and that DPAF2 is super sticky. But overall, this are all just "wants" and not "needs" if I ever want to be a pro someday ill go straight to Canon R6 mark ii and skip canon r8 because I need that dual card slot even though they are the same camera.
    Thanks to my sl3, I learned alot about the camera and how to take photos properly. I dont care about how fast a camera can shoot because im not a sport or wildlife photograper, im a portrait photographer. Always buy a new lense and camera if you "need" it and not want
    Because of sl3 I learned that not everything on youtube is real specially famous photographer in youtube teaching things that are simply not true... well maybe it is true in some cases but are not all the time. Knowing how to operate a camera is way better than a beginner who has a very expensive camera but has no idea how to use it.

    I decided to trade in my 250d for the Canon R10 mirrorless. Honestly, I’ll never go back to DSLR again. Much better autofocus system. Burst rate up to 22 frames per second. It’s even a bit lighter than a 250d. The only negative is poor battery life. My Canon R6 has poor battery life. You must carry spare batteries on both.

      share, please, how do you like the canon R10? I'm thinking about buying it, I'm also thinking about canon RF, before that there was a canon 250d

    • @mikeodowd100
      @mikeodowd100 Год назад +2

      @@lialitvinova182 The R10 uses the same Digic 10 processor as the €6500 R3 does. It allows for better low light photography vs the 250d. The 250d only has nine focus points, vs the R10’s 642. Of course you can shoot up to 22 frames per second, vs 5 on the 250d. I really like the electronic viewfinder on the R10. You can shoot silently too! I actually prefer traveling with the R10, as it’s a very light, and it’s a small powerful mirrorless camera. I leave my much more expensive R6 at home. So to summarize my experience, I really enjoy the camera. I’ve used it to shoot sports, and wildlife. I believe you meant you are also looking at the RP. It’s advantage would be that it’s a full frame camera. It will shoot better in low light conditions. And it’s weather sealed. If you plan on shooting wildlife, the RP only shoots 5 frames per second. So it doesn’t excel in wildlife and sports photography. It’s a good landscape photography camera.

      I use Godox AD200 and 685 with it. I did, however, have to upgrade the firmware on the XPro trigger.
      The other trigger, the X2 I also have, didn’t require any firmware updates and you can sandwich that trigger between the body and the flash. Just gets heavier than I like

    Interesting that you touched on the great dslr v mirrorless debate in this one and whilst i accept that mirrorless will inevitably be the way forward, to my mind, the technology is still in it's infancy and anyone buying into it now is going to end up with a vastly overpriced paper weight in about a years time such is the pace of development of mirrorless technology at the minute....thus...i'm going to sit back on the "antiquated" dslr fence, continue to take photos.....and when...and only when, the mirrorless dust has setteled....will i even consider buying what is currently overpriced and overhyped crap! 😎👍
