ChilLED Growcraft ULTRA X3 330w PAR Test & Review

  • I have seen the future of horticultural lighting… and it is BRIGHT!
The new ChilLED Growcraft ULTRA X3 330w Prototype 1 is the most efficient grow light. The engineers at ChilLED set out to demonstrate what is possible with efficacy. It led them to create this “concept light” which blows every other fixture away. It will come at a steep price, but it is an exciting sign for the future of horticultural lighting!
In this review, I do an unboxing, show the setup, and run it through four different PAR tests in two different coverage areas. It did better than I thought possible! This is a remarkable fixture!

Grow Light PAR Testing is part of the Coco for Cannabis Grow Light Guide.
I conduct independent and impartial grow light testing and reviews. I present the data that I gather during my tests. The opinions and recommendations that I offer are based on my experience with indoor horticulture and horticultural lighting.
The manufacturer provided me with the light fixture in exchange testing and a review. I always retain the right to give honest reviews about the products that I receive. Par maps are insane for a 330 watt fixture in a 4x4...and 800-900 in the center 4x2 with all that light spilling into the rest of the tent. Wow. I preordered 3 ultra strips(couldn’t help myself )to upgrade my x3, which I love by itself. I’m gonna run these strips in my 4x2 with co2, the light raised all the way to the ceiling the whole grow...

Those leds look like cree leds. The red ones in the middle look like the Xlamp XP-G3 photo red series. The whites ones look the the J series, either the JR5050 family or the JB2835 family. Probably the 2835 because they are about the same size of the G3's. The 5050s are a bit larger. The Cree Horticultural leds, depending on the family of LED are rated at having PPF/W (umol/j) starting at around 2.3 going into the 4's. If those are Cree Leds then people are getting a very good light. Good on Chilled for not cheaping out.
I build my own lights including having my own custom MCPCB boards printed. I only use Cree leds or Osram but mainly Cree.

This isn't meant to be our mainstream product. The Growcraft Ultra line strives to be the most efficient light in the world and cutting-edge tech costs marginally more to develop and produce. The cost to consumers is high because our cost is high!
