I’m the kid sitting next to the guy frank Mahoney when they show us taking break. This was a really good job, This was probably filmed in 2017. We had a lot of fun on that job.
Simple. Because the video is from the discovery channel networks. They own several different documentary channels. I remember watching it when it was on television. I live in upstate New York. I remember when it was being constructed.
Amazing job to all of you guys!!!! Very difficult and challenging building to be constructed !! It's like dealing with a constant mind bending headache that needs to be continually figured out!! Respect and admiration !!
@@tonyjackson4099 yes, but sometimes it takes egregious and corrupt forms where, for instance, access to key plumbing and electrical and IT arteries is so restricted that it adds hours and many thousands of dollars of extra labor to even the simplest job to change some apartment's shut-off valve. As a result, the maintenance fee on these units, after you buy, can be higher than rents in the area. So think you'd bought property (even if you were so wealthy as to do it with cash, no % to the bank) but you still keep paying maintenance and property tax - so you're just a patsy getting milked.
Ill give u a 👍, but you don't need all that dramatization. Get this corporate type of media reporting out of you, and just let us enjoy this marvel of engineering

I'm just curious what happened to the other two buildings? They sandwiched this building in between two existing buildings, apparently connecting them all together. But those two buildings had windows on that side. Both existing buildings lose their views, and natural light. No more windows.

They probably didn’t use them before the 80s. I’m a journeyman carpenter in the union. We always had to wear our glasses. We got fined if we didn’t and not in a harness headgear gloves, safety first.

All very impressive... BUT, we still can not build a stone pyramid like the ancient times of LONG ago....!! And after these skyscrapers rust, rot and crumble, the pyramids will still remain.....
The building looks nice but, I suspect the rent is only something that a lawyer, doctor, or someone who knows the stock market really well can afford. This building was completed 6 years ago. Why was this video just published now and the interviews make it seem like it's currently being built?
They did the same thing with the falcons Staduim video
Editing. Years and years of editing lol. Or it's stolen and repurposed?
Are you new to RUclips? This was on TV six years ago.

Those nodes are amazing pieces of engineering.... Wow.
Can you tell me more
I have nothing but respect for the ironworkers in NYC, great video
Better late than never. This building is right across my office and I took pictures from empty lot to the finish product😂
Hat off 🎩to these amazing builders talking about the height fear my biggest weakness can't even look down the building 😁
Make sure that you include the word: "unaffordable" in the list of superlatives describing these new structures.😮
"Unaffordable" only applies to us commenting on here. Trust me, this is more than affordable to so many of the few.
Architects always make life hard for engineers.

Beautiful unrestricted view of Central Park until they build an 85 story building in front of it 😳

Moving the concrete during rush hour was pretty stupid !
sick🔥🔥🔥🔥
Is the EOR not on site for the installation of the first node?

yep. that's why the top floors cost way, way more money - it's less likely to happen up there.

likely because there's not one large enough shaft straight through, or it's angled.
Well shoot I guess it’s time to cash in my social security and purchase an apartment there he he
Polycarbonate lenses have saved SO many eyes, I can't imagine no safety glasses :(

All that engineering and so many engineers yet the workers on site still had to cut the Node on the fly with just their street smarts & experiance.
They didn’t cut the node,
Did anyone else notice the lower floor windows will be blocked by the adjacent structures? The buildings look a little bunched up to me.

Why not transport the concrete at 3 am?
For something that was completed in 2019 and it's 2025 now.... Video is too old
Stop complaining and just enjoy the video. Its not that deep bro.
The design logic and construction systems remain the same. You must be a layman in building construction matters to say the video is old.
besides that - it's for free. most of us would like to watch documentaries about nyc's current building sites, but i think this is not gonna happen
But now there's a lot of skyscrapers in China.
so is NYC lol
Engineers design these buildings, NOT BUILD
I'm sick of big clever fake things. I think most people just want real small things back again
