I've done raids: one ghost calling out "Guardian down!" and the absolute _hail_ of suppressive fire (which, as pointed out, includes bolts of solar fusion, black holes, and entire Titan Strikers) that would result to cover them to get back up would be rather unpleasant to go against. Guardians are canonically psychos, clowning on their enemies without fear... right up until they get serious and that never happens faster than the realization they could lose one of their precious number.

    On the points of the imperium in the Destiny Universe, some things to consider;
    - While the Fallen's tech is obviously offensively inferior to that of the imperium for the most part, one area they excel at is hacking into other sorts of technology. Skolas' House of Wolves breached the Vault of glass and was able to take control over their time travel technology, and in more recent times Mithraxx has twice been able to allow our guardian player character to breach the Vex Network, once during the Season of the Splicer and another time during Lightfall's Season of Defiance. Given the state of technology in Warhammer, and how they've also come close to taking control over parts of Rasputin and did take control over the SIVA nanites in Rise of Iron, you can make a solid case that they'd be able to take control over Warhammer's more mechanical weapons like titans and ships if they were to put their minds to it.
They wouldn't be easily crushed because of their splicers, at the very least, even if a captain will never compare to an Space Marine despite their ability teleport and the like.
    - The Hive should just absolutely destroy the imperium, to be honest. While a Space Marine's sword may sever the hardest diamonds, a Hive Knight's blade cuts reality itself and the blades of Ascendant Hive rewrite the world around them.
They weaponize and hollow out entire moons as bases and Starships, and already have to the Earth's. Their kind grows stronger with every ounce of suffering and pain they inflict, and every life they take. The Guard and Astartes throwing numbers at the Hive will only empower them further and further. And while victories against the forces of lesser Hive certainly could be managed, I won't argue something dumb like your average Hive Knight soloing everything... the Ascendant Hive are just far too far beyond anything the imperium can face.
Oryx's fleet alone has destroyed entire galaxy-spanning civilizations, and he singlehandedly would be unstoppable with his powers of Darkness and his knowledge of how to take enemy combatants. He is described as being a is a syllogism to triumph, to killing and death. His ship, which is his throne, alone resists understanding with what is described as "spite." He is described as bringing about the end of a civilization in but ten paces. Before he had even become Oryx, the worm gods describe this to him: "You are no longer bound by causal closure. Your will defeats law. Kill a hundred of your children with a long blade, Auryx, and observe the change in the blade. Observe how the universe shrinks from you in terror." "Your existence begins to define itself."
Xivu Arath embodies war itself and grows stronger with every conflict, were the WH40K forces to obliterate a planet or even a moon to exterminate all the Hive there, Xivu would do what was threatened in Season of the Seraph and open a portal like she did above the Cabal's homeworld with all that slaughter -- allowing for her own armies to descend in full force, and herself, overwhelming anything that could be mounted.
Savathun's Lucent Hive are another matter altogether, as they have the same powers as the Guardians and benefit from the Sword Logic in the same way, while having the obscene military power of a Hive Swarm. They too fight wars on a galactic scale, remember. Not just that, but Savathun managed to subvert the power of Rhulk and seal him away -- A Disciple of the Witness who was going "upend" her entire throne world -- a space so large it contains its own star at the very least. She may well do the very same thing to the Emperor, or just kidnap him/other essential figures like she did the Traveller at the end of the Witch Queen campaign.
It's a serious mismatch. A united, or a single Hive force would actually stand a chance at winning the grand game that is Warhammer, so against a smaller force limited to one solar system? There's no chance of defeat there in the grand scheme of things.
Even discarding the immortality intrinsic to all Ascendant Hive, even a much younger Oryx learned to evade death when an entire planet is destroyed just to kill him, and overcame what was an entire galaxy throwing every weapon of mass destruction they could muster at him singlehandedly with his ability to take and the power that came with his ascension to the role of Taken King.
His Dreadnaught is invincible because it is his inverted throne world, and its superweapon that can obliterate an entire fleet of ships is described like this in Tyrannocide V:
"In one way, she is vaporized with her Ketch, the bonds between the very particles of her body questioned by the harrowing logic of Oryx's weapon and found inessential. The mechanism of devastation is spontaneous fission. The author of the devastation is laughing in joy.
In another way, a more true and symbolic way, she is impaled on Oryx's blade. She has thrown all her might at him, and he has answered. He has snuffed her fledgling divinity and her meager claim to royalty, he has exposed Mara to the raw and caustic hostility of his High War. She has been defeated by the sword logic."
There's also weapons like the Deathsong that can kill all living things on a planetary scale, and is said to be "a generally effective paracausal death impulse." Toland speaks of it as follows: "But what if what if what if, shhh listen, what if death were reified, described in its totality, made autonomous and universal, separate from any context or condition? What if She could invoke the ending of anything?" And the Daughters of Oryx are described as being able to kill Axioms themselves, to unravel and re-weave reality as they see fit.
    - While the Cabal may not seem very impressive at first glance, it is important to note that they have been able to create technology able to suppress both the Light and Darkness with enough time -- meaning they could likely devise similar tech when exposed to the Psychic powers of those who use the Warp. That aside, they do are superb at the war of attrition that the conflict would turn into. Not only have they been able to wage war with the Hive for years on end, but they were also able to do so against the Vex as well. They literally clone new troops, allowing for them to replenish their battle lines absurdly quickly. Not just that, but every piece of Cabal Tech is linked into a battle-network described in the Grimoire card that allows for them to respond to any threat on the battlefield with absurd efficiency, and have loyalty to match the Imperium in a lot of cases. They do also have tanks so large that they dwarf entire mountains, so on the front of heavy vehicles it shouldn't be a total stomp.
What's far more important though, if we're taking the cabal at their absolute peak, would be Psion Flayers. They've enough intelligence to intrude on Rasputin's systems (Who is considered so complex that the the Vex cannot easily compute him with the Vex in question being able to perfectly simulate hundreds of copies of scientists they've never even seen), but more importantly have their own psychic powers. They can move entire moons at a time, and actually have one of Mars' moons positioned in such a way that it could be crashed into the planet should they ever lose ground there. They even have had at times machines able to predict the future, and once commandeered time travel technology from Osiris and nearly rewrote the destiny universe as we know it.
I wouldn't make the case that they'd shatter the imperium or anything, but they'd definitely put up a massive fight on the planets they intrude on. There's also the note of the Shadow Legion, who have access to pyramid tech and... uh, yeah. Pyramid tech is obscene. Like, deleting projectiles that come near vessels from existence by holding them in stasis in a pocket reality the moment they come close obscene to achieve invincibility, alongside having much more reliable FTL technology as well.
    - Just one small note on the Scorn, they'd never be able to be fully wiped out as Fikrul is just immortal end of sentence and has been killed hundreds of times, Ahamkara wish magic is obscene. They do also have a great connection to the Darkness and any forces could probably do a number on whatever imperium forces encounter them, but as with the guardians their lower numbers should mean that they can be warded off at least, even if never fully put down.
    - The Witness just... wins. Like, it just, won't be stopped. If we gave it the goal of "exterminate humanity" here, it just, would do it. It instakills guardians, couldn't even be harmed by a gigantic beam of light from the traveller that had enough power to outright revive a disciple, and commands an entire fleet of invincible pyramid ships able to warp gravity on a planetary scale and can itself take entire planets out of this reality.

I feel like you underestimated the Necrons.
They have the most advanced technology in the galaxy. It is true they are no longer unified, but the most time they can work together. Currently in the lore there is a Necron civil war with dozens of dynasties on both sides. But if there was a greater threat, they would unite.
They nearly defeated the Aeldary at their peak, (who you praised a lot even with their fallen empire) when they had the Krorks (super orks) and the Old ones, their creators.
Necron chronomancers can see the future more accurately than than anyone, maybe other than Tzeench or Kairos. Orikan, a master chronomancer had forsaw the fall of the Aeldary and the Horus Heresy in great detail, but they were too insignificant to him to do anything about them. He can also travel in time.
You didn't mentioned the C'tan, who are also real gods with universe bending powers, and they are part of reality. If they are destroyed, than a part of reality is destroyed. And also your Guardians would be able to destroy one, they would be cursed, like what happened to the Maynarakh dynasty, when they destroyed the Flayer. Most of them became flayed ones.
Tesseract labyrinths are pocket dimensions, and if something is trapped in them, they can't get out, because time doesn't pass for them.
You were not correct about their individuality. Only the rulers have their free will. All their soldiers work like a hive mind, and can coordinate together, for more efficiency.
And at the end I wanted to mention the Celestial Orrery. A holographic map of the entyre galaxy, where if someone would tap on a star or planet, it would be destroyed. The Necrons don't really use it for that, but if the survival of their race depends on it, they would use it to stop your Guardians.
Please keep in mind, that I'm not very familiar with the Destiny universe, but I know a LOT about 40k, and just mentioned some facts that you maybe didn't know. I'm very deap in this universe, and in my opinion the Necrons are the most powerfull race in the galaxy.
I think they could defet your Guardians.
Your rule was, that the Guardians against one 40k facrion at a time. If they can fight against only one faction at once, than I think it would be fair if the Necrons were united. You sayed ther greatest weakness was their lack of unity, and it's true, but they can work together with other facrions too. Against an enemy this OP, there would be no slintering and no holding back their reality destroying super weapons.

Guardians are absolute psychopaths due to the fact that it is harder to put them down for good than even a Chaos Prince. They see death as a minor inconvenience and get even more pissed than the Tyranid Hivemind when one of their own actually suffers final death and are willing to do absolutely batshit insane things to seek simple revenge. Necrons treat their gods like pokemon, while Guardians treat gods in general like annoyances that need to be snuffed out and then turned into a shiny new gun.
Guardians are just unironically more op than the entire 40K setting, and as a huge fan of both I find it absolutely hilarious. Example: Guardians only needed one ship with one Guardian to infiltrate Oryx's flagship and set up transmat points for the calvary to then come in and start fucking shit up; which looks like something similar is happening with The Final Shape. They kicked open the door to a literal gods house and shouted "HEY, SHITASS! If the Destiny world was in Warhammer, there is honestly a distinct possibility that the Traveler would become a Chaos God of Possibility. That main conflict between the Light and Dark in Destiny can be chalked down to a game of chance. The Darkness wants to keep things simple, an easy pattern to go into perpetuity. The Light, however, wants life to be more than an algorithm, something that can evolve and create new patterns.

I think the video is mostly accurate, and while the Cabal, Fallen, Scorn and Vex are all correctly represented, I think it's quite clear there's a lack of information about the Hive and Guardians themselves.
First off, the Hive aren't a real problem for the Warhammer universe, Oryx is. He's quite literally powerful enough to single handedly take care of the entirety of the Tyranids by himself. Everything he wants he takes, and that which he cannot take, he will cut from existence. His sword is so sharp it can split atoms in two perfect halves with no effort. For each enemy he kills, a unit is added to his army. Moreover, anything that comes near him becomes taken, he doesn't even have to kill it.
There's nothing that could stop Oryx in the entire verse except for the Chaos Gods and some of the primarchs, and even then, I think only the Chaos Gods would be able to actually beat him.
Now, our friends the Guardians. New Lights would instantly die upon stepping foot in the Warhammer verse, but here's the funny thing: comparing a New Light to your average guardian is akin to comparing a coughing baby to a hydrogen bomb, and comparing a skilled guardian to an "Apex" guardian like Ikora, Shaxx or Shin Malphur, is similar to (again) comparing a coughing baby to a supernova.
Let's take Lord Shaxx as a benchmark here. Without actually using the light, meaning coating himself in elemental energy (void, solar, arc, etc) he can literally level a mountain with a single punch. I highly doubt most beings in the Warhammer verse would be able to take such a hit and not end up instantly vaporized. To make things worse, imagine that same sort of punch, but add the mass of a small black hole to it (highest level Void armor infusion) and the speed of lightning (Arc flow). Doesn't sound like a good time honestly.
Besides the physical prowess of guardians alone, which is enough to end most fights instantly, they can also:
Become as hot as the sun itself, weave reality around themselves to become nigh intangible, coat themselves in armor dense enough to be compared to a black hole, move at speeds rivaling lightning and turning everything that even comes near into a chunk of matter so absolutely devoid of any entropy, that it loses all of its energy and becomes stationary down to its atoms, affecting even the flow of time. Also worth mentioning, a guardian can instantly regenerate themselves back to perfect health with Solar energy, and recover all of their power with a single kill via Void's Devour (they can also do it without killing by siphoning life out of living creatures, but let's leave it at energy-per-kill)
All of those things are stuff that all of the slightly-above-average guardians can do, though not at the same time, and not all of the elements. Guardians are usually skilled in 2-3 elements, but highly skilled guardians can do all 5, and our friend Shaxx is way above a highly skilled guardian.
With all of this being said, I think it's safe to say that Lord Shaxx would be having a blast in the Warhammer universe, being able to pretty much solo most of the stuff you throw at him.
Now let's picture a fireteam composed by Shaxx, Ikora, Saint-14, The Drifter, Lord Saladin and us, the Young Wolf. This would be enough to pretty much erase the 40k verse out of existence (given enough time).
And to finish this long comment off, I'll just say that prime Osiris would most likely dogwalk that fireteam by himself in a 1v6. Osiris is quite literally the definition of overpowered, homie had to be nerfed for the sake of lore. He's been known to use multiple supers of different elements at once, back to back, without breaking a sweat. There's also other monsters close to him (namely Shin Malphur) but they operate independently.

Even in our universe there is nothing short of the Witness itself that could rival the heavy hitters of the vanguard. Let’s take Oryx himself. Unstoppable for a millennia of combat, literally the most powerful being in the known universe, and could solo entire civilizations. Got deleted from every plane of existence by 6 guardians. Or one, if you count the Taken King Storyline. Guardians are so insanely overpowered, and you can see that just by looking at normal ones. If the best of the best started to actually try, ie ikora, Shaxx, Salad man, that writer Gambit guy we don’t talk about, and the player, there’s nothing that could stop them. Even if you cut off the light from them, it’d just be like a darkness restricted zone. Yeah, you can kill the guardian, but he still had all his powers and his ghost can just disappear into another dimension, sit back, recharge, then manifest here for a microsecond and resurrect the guardian.

I would also imagine that (Pre-Season of the Witch) Xivu Arath would also be a BIG problem for Warhammer universe. She had been shown to be able to grow her power and exert her influence VERY quickly mid-battle, and her preferred strategy for winning her was was nefarious: She would send some advance forces to prepare their rituals to, when local levels of violence hit a critical threshold, _Evert her throne world in it’s entirety onto the victim solar system, with Trillions and Trillions of Hive pouring forward from all corners, wrathborn and taken being converted from the native’s billions as the battle rages, and fleets of war moons as far as the eye can see in the sky._ That would be the equivalent Khorne personally manifesting himself and his Brass Citadel, nigh-infinite legions of daemons and worshipers within it included, upon any particularly war-torn system in Warhammer (which is to say almost half of them at minimum at any given time).
And Khorne vs Xivu? THAT fight would sooner see reality break apart before either of them do, as they would likely feed off of each other in an eternal feedback loop of mutual empowerment.

Each of the three hive sisters are probably capable of cracking planets, are immortal (and have already lived for billions of years), and become stronger the more they fight, and in the case of Oryx, he can Take, essentially flipping the numbers game on its head, and Savathun is an utterly insane tactical genius and also has the light on top of all of that. When it comes to chaos and it’s gods, it isn’t just powers that bind them, but also emotions. Khorne is rage and honour, Nurgle is contentment and the cycle of death and rebirth, Tzeentch is change and hope, while Slaanesh isn’t just excess in negative emotions but also in positive.
If I am honest, the guardians could win given enough time, as a common theory is that how the gods are perceived and which of their power is more prevalent effects their form itself. Because the warhammer universe is constantly in bloody war, Khorne represents that, but should the galaxy be changed by the guardians, it could possibly make Khorne more docile, focused more on his honour through combat and less about blood for the blood god.
The guardians beat chaos not by killing its gods, but by forcing them to adapt to the new galaxy and focusing in on their more positive aspects in order to survive.

For the Eldar, I think you’re right in terms of battle prowess and magic (Sorry warlocks, you’re good, but not “been alive and learning since the universe was young” good), but…
Combine all those three together and we get a faction that the Guardians has canonically already defeated.
The Ahamkara. Wish dragons, beings that alter reality on a whim to the point that killing them doesn’t really change much for the Ahamkara who just carries on living in their own bones! Basically, you’re fighting a species with the magical potential of the Old Ones, they can do whatever they want and are only really bound by their own social hierarchy and faux-pa. And the Guardians killed each and every one of them down to the last (known) Ahamkara.
Another faction I think we were underselling a little is the Hive:
    The Sword Logic.
Or rather, how the entirety of Hive society is themed around the fact that the harder you try to kill them, the stronger they get. The problem with the Hive is not just how their gods are immortal and in perpetuity through Hive Magic, it is the very fact that by the Imperium’s warlike tendencies they’d essentially charge someone like Xivu Arath (the Hive god of War) into chaos-god levels of overdrive. You cannot kill her with war, for by fighting her you’d only make her stronger. Hell, the act of KILLING her as a means of hatred, conquest or in the name of Victory would arguably just let her come back even stronger. She’s like Khorne, if Khorne actively walked around and cleft planets in half on a whim.
And if you try to use subterfuge you’d come up against the Witch Queen, who isn’t just a Hive god in the traditional sense and a god of trickery (sorry but bye-bye imperial spy network and assassination bureau), she is also capable of wielding the Lightc and is thus paracausal and can field Guardians of her own as of the Witch Queen expansion.
Honestly, I’ve not even mentioned things like War Moons (making exterminatus not overkill, but a necessity) or the Worm Gods yet.

Simply to “sharpen their swords” in Hive terms and to “Stomp out dem weak gits” in Ork terms.
But then once the Orks hits Krork-level of PROPER KRUMPIN’ I’d argue the Hive would start losing, because whilst the Hive is a strong force, the Krorks would be like “Want to fight an entire species of of Krota’s”?
And that’s not accounting for Xivu Arath probably going non-stop into a wrestling ring with Gork and Mork WWE style.

The darkness has taken guardians before, heck, it's even happening to zavala in the final shape trailer meaning that there's nothing to suggest that chaos can't corrupt them. Having said that, if ever the necrons were to be defeated or formed a truce with the guardians, they could easily form mega-anti warp devices, place them all over the universe (not in the heart of chaos as that could probably destroy it which would NOT be good) and BOOM. Short answer? Yes.
Space Marines are great, but a SINGLE Gaurdian is all it takes to whittle away at any force, no matter the size. A Gaurdian is a paradigm unto themself. They ARE the warp, in essence.
Ghosts are also incredibly durable. If you can get past the shell, they're still nearly indestructible. WITH any given shell, you're not breaking it without paracasual powers. Even the orbital bombardment only worked because the ghost was caused off guard.
As for paracausality, it has another facet.
Paracausal beings are more REAL than the universe around them. Any warp powers used on them might just fizzle out before hitting them. Psykers might be able to do some suppressive effects, but only physically.

    • @Boopity7739

    • @yfrit_gg
      @yfrit_gg Месяц назад

As fun as it would be what you said about the ghosts isn't true. Ghosts have been killed by regular Fallen during the dark ages, and continue to be vulnerable to more than enemy paracausal powers. You even see it with Sagira when she takes a stray shot from a Goblin in COO and gets taken out of commission from it. It's not untrue that ghosts are usually quite hard to kill (particularly if the ghost is paying attention), but you do not need paracausal powers to do it. There's a reason that the Coyotes like Micah-10 exist. Stray, lone ghosts are vulnerable, and while those with a guardian are considerably less vulnerable that doesn't make them unkillable.
EDIT: Important addition, according to Bungie's head writer several years ago ghosts *can* be killed by regular force, but only if they are in a darkness zone, e.g. an area where the amount of light they channel is weak. If they are in areas that have a strong, powerful connection to the light (like the Tower) they cannot be killed or even harmed without paracausal power, so it really depends on whether or not the battlefield would have enough light to channel.
It's worth noting this piece of lore only seems to be shoddily supported (as in it rarely if ever gets referenced and several major canon events kind of call it into question, like Twilight Gap), but I thought it worth a mention anyway since it does provide a very straightforward possible perspective on the matter.

Said this in the last video, but the idea of guardians being created from any of the races in Warhammer is unfortunately impossible. Contrary to what some people think, ghosts can’t resurrect anybody they want; guardians can only be risen from those civilizations that were visited by the traveler, hence why the hive were able to become guardians. Even then, the ghost can’t just revive any member of that race, the person has to have a strong connection to the light within them already. Any attempt to forcefully make a ghost revive someone, or reverse engineer them, wouldn’t work either, as the traveler was shown self-destructing a ghost when Rhulk tried to force it into giving him the light.

  • @Mrseancevans

The quote that rang the most true to me was that Guardians are essentially daemons of The Light. They operate basically the same as daemons: they don’t really exist anymore and can’t be killed permanently except by extreme and rare means, can vary wildly in power, aren’t really bound by the physical laws of causality, and serve as the semi-independent extensions of a much larger eldritch being that’s more akin to a universal idea made manifest. Basically, The Traveller would be a fifth chaos god that doesn’t cause nearly as much damage to humanity as the others… but the Imperium would treat them like just another chaos faction. Heck, most of the arguments you made about how The Vanguard could, with enough concentrated effort into a crusade, slowly grind the Xenia factions to atoms one by one, could also be said of any major chaos faction if they were able to spend enough time away from the great game to do so. Also, just like a Chaos faction, the biggest threats are other chaos factions. Honestly, I think a “Traveller becomes a fifth Chaos God” thought experiment AU is pretty fun. The Imperium would hate them, but the humans who get to live free from the Imperium, protected by “Daemons of The Light,” would likely have the best quality of life out of any human in the galaxy.

  • @SymbioteMullet
    @SymbioteMullet 3 месяца назад +17

I must massively disagree with chaos not being able to corrupt guardians.
Vex have corrupted guardians (Kabr the Legionless, Vault of glass)
The Darkness did it a whole bunch (Shayura, the Dark Future lorebook, and the first half of the Beyond Light story as examples for starters)
The Hive have been ripping the light out of guardians for years (Savathûn's song), and they still used their darkness powers when they got the Light (see Lucent hive Wizards).
Chaos could _definitely_ turn guardians. All 5 of the gods could. Khorne could easily turn titans into berzerkers, (see also the plot of Season of the Seraph where the guardians had to take out their own orbital weapons array to defeat Xivu Arath, the hive god of war... who was then only half dealt with three seasons later. Nurgle would laugh at how many times he can rot guardians to death, Slaanesh - well, you covered that. And Tzeench would just change their ways.
And knowing guardians, loads of them would _willingly_ throw in with Malal, not that they exist.
Also, the Aeldari _could_ perma kill guardians more easily than most of the others, since they are the only faction (i think) with ready access to Distort weapons, which irretrievably throw their targets into the warp. Who knew that Wraithguard could be such a threat to Lightbearers?
The Imperium do have things like Vortex grenades that open temporary rifts into the Warp, but they are much rarer than most eldar d-weapons.

My understanding for guardian power in destiny is that outside of named characters in the story, the player base is meant to represent the canonical guardians in both count and power. If 20% of players have completed raids, 20% of the canonical guardians are capable of taking on the god-like threats present in those raids. In game supers have an 8 minute cooldown, but by taking full advantage of game mechanics some players can get that under one minute, that percentage representing the number of guardians able to use supers that quickly. Based on this your average guardian can be expected to take on strike level threats in a fireteam of three, while the top end can take on serious threats by themselves.

  • @Seven-Lights
    @Seven-Lights 3 месяца назад +11

A few things I thought of before starting the video so some of this might be mentioned.
    1. An obvious point is both Guardians (seemingly) indefinite lifespan allowing for a long life of learning and training if necessary, no need for food or water as far as I’m aware and their ability to revive in non darkness zones, which should be a non factor in Warhammer, as there is no darkness paracausal power in that universe
    2. Despite in game the maximum players you can bring to what could be perceived as lore wise, a high level of power scaling, which would be in a raid. In a realistic scenario there is no limit to how many could join forces, so you would have hundreds of thousands to a million immortal, greedy, brain rotted, trigger happy psychopaths who have a kill count ranging from thousands all the way up to several millions in only a span of a few years. Not saying they would win, but they can’t be ignored.
    3. In a situation where Guardians are limited by gameplay balance, they have the potential to be drastically stronger. In lore, there are main guardians that are absurdly powerful and can rapidly use different elements, etc. Many have theorised that there is a logical difference between in lore guardians and playable guardians. Many famous guardians like Ikora and Zavala do not use all elements, some believe they don’t have the ability to. Zavala is known to use Ward of Dawn and Striker, whilst Ikora use Nova Bomb and Chaos reach. I believe the only mention of a Guardian using all elements is of Osiris, when he used all elements in a fight against the vex. Anyway my point is that they all seemingly have a large amount of ability output, being able to use more abilities in a short period of time, but having longer downtimes. In comparison playable Guardians have lower output (unless you run Sunbracers), but get abilities much faster and can master every element, which lore wise is very rare.
Additionally and most importantly, the underlying nature of the powers Guardians use is critical. Light based powers all centred around manipulating the physical world and the laws of physics and in some cases, breaking said laws. Darkness is, if I’m not mistaken, forcing change upon reality what you create through your mind and soul. I find darkness elements particularly worrisome, because Stasis is essentially about entropy and imposing that entropy into the physical world, meanwhile strand is about creating, manipulating and destroying a web of life/souls. I’m not smart enough to go into deep discussion on strand nor the light elements because there are so many different ways you can look at what the hell ‘Void’ is.
Anyway, Guardians are strong and way more persistent than they should be. Do I think they would be unbeatable, no. Do I think they stand a better chance than in the normal Destiny universe, yes due to the absence of Darkness paracausality stopping revives. Do I think they’d be an army of cockroaches that refuse to die? Yes. Yes I do.

Btw, this is a weapon that was not destroyed by the Silent King when he destroyed the Necon's most dangerous weapons because it wasn't dangerous enough. The Silent King literally has a C'tan powering his chair, a being that eats stars. The Chaos gods would make the Witness look like a child. The Guardians also don't have FTL travel while literally everyone in Warhammer 40k does. Humanity has a population in the quadrillions with weapons on nearly every battleship thay can destroy a planet if the Imperium chooses to do so. There would never be a Space Marine vs Guardian because the Guardians would just get wiped out in space. The Orcs and Tyranids would also be a massive issue as they rarely run out of soldiers. When those two fought each other their forces only gained in strength due to teh attrition warfare. The only times they've run out of men was really when their fleets were destroyed.
The Guardians would be seen as less of a problem than the Tau. The last city has almost been destroyed by the Fallen before. How the fuck are they going to beat the damn Necrons?
