Agreed. When I watch a video like this, or even more-so when I watch those "top 10 game" videos.... I WANT to hear the backstory. I'm watching videos about older games and consoles, because I WANT to hear the personal reasons behind why you like said console or games. I watch a top 10 video, I want someone's personal top 10 with personal reasons as to why they're top 10. I want those obscure games that this one person has massive nostalgia for. Not some copy and pasted generalized "most popular 10" list. I watch a video about a console someone likes, I want that back story, and that personal attachment. Not just some number by number copy and pasted list of "Why this thing is good".
PS Vita is such an overlooked system, wish I never sold mine! Great content Jeremy, your voice sounds great!

Hey bro if u like jrps I would suggest try the trails series, they were released in Japan but the homebrew community has English patch, also u should try another game called Catherine full body which was also released in Japan but like I said the homebrew community has English patch

Found a nice 1000 homebrewed for $160, it's my first Vita and I'm so hyped for it to be my PS1/PSP machine too.

I have a Vita and a bunch of handhelds (steam deck, 3DS, miyoo mini). It's honestly my least used one. It's really held back by it's library I think. Which is Sony's fault for abandoning it. It's hardware is still pretty good. They should've treated it like a handheld and not a competitor with the main brand.
The Vita had so much potential and was pretty much abandoned 2 years after release, it would be interesting to see what games would have come out if Sony had tried to support the system longer. How do you like the steam deck?

It's really unfortunate that PS Vita didn't have 5 GHz Wi-Fi channel or I would use it for game streaming everyday.
Now my phone can do everything Vita can, and do it better. (I already played all the great Vita exclusive so it not really needed anymore tbh)

Yeah luckily this came with a 32gb card but I’ll pickup a micro sd reader soon. I definitely will need more storage soon

I think the Vita would have succeeded without any touch gimmicks and also they should have added R2/L2. No touch screens/pads could make it a little cheaper and having all the same buttons as a DualShock could make it a little more easier to port over some games.
I completely agree, especially with the back touch pad, pricey memory cards, and lack of R2/L2. Thanks for watching!
There's a reason both Sony and Nintendo ended their "traditional" handheld approach. Sony gave it up altogether, and Nintendo unified their home and portable business. Sales of the Vita and 3DS were roughly half that of their predecessors - at best. The era of the pure handheld was at a low point. Of course, all things eventually circle around, and now handhelds are all the rage. Switch, Steam Deck, all those emulation devices....

Honestly, I think a massive reason for the Vita's death, was simply the crappy marketing. Hell, most people I talk to didn't even realize the PS Vita was a new console. I didn't even know that until a few years ago. Myself, and most of those people, just assumed the PS Vita was just another version of the PSP, like the GO was. The marketing behind the Vita did absolutely fuck all to actually tell people WHAT the Vita was. I mean, even just naming it the PSP 2 would have probably done a better job, at least "PSP 2" sounds like the second PSP, and not just another alternative design, and would fit in with the Playstation > Playstation 2 naming conventions.
And then add in the pricey mandatory memory cards, causing the people that DID know what the Vita was, to hesitate.
AND THEN add in the gimmicky touch screen, touch pad, and gyroscope controls. In the end it didn't turn out bad, but at the time I could definitely imagine people looking at it and laughing. Either thinking it makes the PSP look more childish when the whole kinda draw for kids was that the PSP was the more "grown up" handheld out of it and the DS. Or people just thought it was dumb all together.
@@dunnono00just because they didn't sell doesn't mean they gave up on them or are just gonna abandon them, I think you're neglecting to mention how recent the 3ds is compared to the switch.

Yeah multiplayer is decent and still has a populated player base, but you’re right cod mobile is probably a better option at this point lol. What’s the arcade game?

I haven’t heard of anybody getting banned, but it’s always a good idea to “spoof” your firmware version just to be safe. Good luck!

I absolutely love my Vita, and I would be SO down to buy a new Sony handheld. A proper one, not this remote play nonsense they're releasing. If they came out with a proper standalone handheld like the PSP and Vita, I'd so grab it. Especially if it's backwards compatible with PS1/PSP/Vita games. Because then I could literally just replace my Vita with the new one, and have everything in one device.
I would make my own list of "what's on my Vita?", but I'm too lazy, there's way too much stuff on my Vita. I have an SD2Vita in it with a 512gb card in it. I have 87 Vita games, 161 PSP games, 43 PS1 games, and 12 Homebrew Ports. Plus a bunch of apps and plugins.
The vita is such an amazing handheld, I really wish Sony would make a proper handheld like you said. With the recent popularity of handhelds again I could see a new Sony handheld doing well if they did a couple of things right that they got wrong with Vita

@@FranchisePlayyer Yeah, I don't like having to swap games around to make room for more games, so most of my stuff has more storage than I really NEED, but I like having that extra space so I never have to worry about running low. I still have around 73gb on my sd card. My 2ds has a 256 in it, my Xbox has a 4tb hdd specifically for emulation, my two emulation handhelds have plenty of room. Even my two flash carts have a bigger sd card than they really need.

I completely plan on hacking atleast one of my vitas. The only question is if I'll use my main account or make a throwaway just in case no matter how slim the chances of a ban are down the line if sony decides to crack down on it.
I’m sure there is a small chance of getting banned but I’ve never heard of it happening to anybody. If you want to play it safe might be worth making a backup account
@@FranchisePlayyer Yeah it definitely seems like Sony is fine with it for now but has the data to act on it if they wanted. Who knows if they'll change their mind down the line though but I agree the chances seem pretty unlikely.
