      Single boom mower is used for really rough and uneven field cutting with who knows what lurking under the tall grass. Also good for going in and out along Ditches.

    Hey RHINO, I just want to say I think it was a great idea to support such a fine, upstanding family like Wranglerstar. I'll also say it was smart. I'm a farmer and I grow thousands of acres of grapes. I have a select few pieces of your equipment and they've been great, but now I'm going to take another look at what you have. See, it's working already.

    Cody and his new toys. The wedge style mower is called a brush hog and the winged one is for lawns of few acres. Your digger needs a rack to hold lengths of pipe and spindle of tubing. Your wing blade can push snow to if you need to clear a flat area to put your snow to the left or right side of it. I wonder what he wants for Christmas now.

      Frederick Nolan, Sorry Fred, but they are both Brush Hogs for mowing fields. You can tell by the blade design. a "lawn" mower has fixed blades, brush hogs have them set up to where they can "flail" to better cut through small trees/brush.

    I hope you teach Jack and Mrs. W about the dangers of a PTO. I've saw a guy that knew better get hurt very bad while pushing down on the auger. It almost ripped his arm off, tore muscle, tendons, skin and broke bones. It was a horrendous injury you just couldn't imagine. I say this not to be a "Safety Sally" only because I know they don't have much experience around these implements.

    We buried enough PVC to irrigate 100 acres of citrus grove with an implement just like that and this was existing grove, not bare land before planting. I must admit that the larger (8", 6", 4") distribution lines were put in with a ditchwitch, but everything 2" and below were plowed in, as we called it. It used heavy chain and bullet shaped soil expander pulled behind the plow point that then used a 3/8" bolt to connect the pipe. What a labor saver that was. Of course, Florida being all sand made it a little easier as well.

  • @suburbanhobbyist2752

    A few years back I used that same hole digger to plant over 1000 cherry trees. I couldn't go in and rip the ground like I normally would because of an existing orchard, but at the same time I had hard pan to deal with. I used this digger to go down through the hard pan and then back filled. The trees have flourished there. Over a thousand holes through hard pan just about as bad as concrete and that digger didn't even flinch. Great equipment.

    You can mow scrub with that single deck mower. I use ours at work to keep the alders down around the fence line. the way the blades are hinged prevents them from bringing up and staling the PTO slip clutch.

    PLEASE FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS ON THE PTO EQUIPMENT ON CUTTING THE PTO SHAFTS TO THE CORRECT LENGTH!! If you don't cut the pto shafts the right length for each implement you can do serious damage to tractor and or implement if the shafts are left too long.

    • @wranglerstar
      @wranglerstar  7 лет назад

      No need to cut anymore, these have a sliding yoke,

    • @meadowviewlawncarellc8079
      @meadowviewlawncarellc8079 7 лет назад +3

      +wranglerstar they can bottom out and do serious damage to tractor or implement. And each has to be cut custom for each attachment, sliding yoke r not. My snowblower 3pt is sliding yoke and I had my dealer cut it to length so if anything happened they would be liable. It tells how to measure and cut them in the manuals taped to the shafts.

    The dealership I work for used to deal with Rhino products. We found them to be very rugged implements and well built. However. Things would break from time to time and when we tried to order replacement parts, we were quite often told that the part was out of stock and would not be available for a long time, like, weeks to months. Several commercial users who had Rhino mowers and needed them and had them break, had to sell them in auctions because the parts were not going to be available for a long time, and they bought a different brand of equipment. I was very sad to see Rhino go away from our dealership but very glad that I didn't have to deal with all the back-ordered parts and angry customers anymore. Sorry to rain on your parade but this is all true personal experience from a long time employee of an established equipment dealer.

    Be very careful when using new equipment. I know you have used much bigger machines than this but if you're not familiar with it , it can hurt you. I was mowing hay in Montana , with our new mower. It was a small field of about 10 acre's of alfalfa. I finished and started to put the mower in road travel condition to move to the next field. I went to put the cutter bar up and it smashed my thumb between the cutter bar and the hydraulic attachment. It smashed the tip of my thumb off and pulled by thumb nail out by the roots. Serious pain ensued. So watch that new stuff, please because I was injured because I didn't know the new piece of equipment 's different steps for road travel. I was only 15 years old but still it was what I didn't know that got me.

      Frank Gerlach: This is so true. I have cut and processed firewood for years. But in one moment of inattention, I got a flattened thumb. The odd thing is, the end bone of my thumb broke in two places. I would not have thought that bone was big enough to break in two places. And it still missed the joint. I was really blest! It cost me a nail that grew Bach very thick and sturdy. But no blood and guts. I'm sorry for what you suffered. That was worse!

    I would suggest not ordering/spreading gravel to drive on, rather get crushed rock. It won't move or scoot when you take your vehicles on it.

    • @paulcopeland9035
      @paulcopeland9035 7 лет назад

      Sorry Austin, you are incorrect. As James stated, crushed rock is made up of broken pieces that will compact and make a proper driveway. Gravel is made up of small stones that will spread when under vehicle pressure. Gravel is fine for the bottom of a ditch or a drainage area where it can be contained but terrible as a drive. These are two very different materials.

    • @sgtusmc2111
      @sgtusmc2111 7 лет назад +3

      James Bockenstette DG decomposed Granite would be ideal if it in the budget.

    • @jamesbockenstette4332
      @jamesbockenstette4332 7 лет назад +5

      For purposes of clarification, gravel is stone that has been processed by glaciers. Gravel is smooth and is naturally varied in diameter size. It works well under concrete to allow drainage as it does not pack tight. Walking or driving on gravel is like walking or driving on marbles. It does not stay in place. It moves from the weight of tires and the vehicle. Crushed stone has a different use and is ideal for driveways. When driven on, it will pack and settle into a firm base. It resists moving because it has jagged edges and points.

    • @StephenButlerOne
      @StephenButlerOne 7 лет назад

      Yes some good quality line MOT. It will compact solid. Then maybe a layer of gravel in 12 months. Gravel is good as burglars dint like it. Too noisy.

    Here in the burbs I could work every spring with that rototiller. Lots of kitchen gardeners don't want the land plowed because of the small size of their gardens.
    I bush hogged my Mom's set aside acreage that she had been paying a local guy to do. It saved her $500.00. It took me two weeks to cut 32 acres. Mostly because my 60 year old tractor and bush hog broke 3 times. 😕
    With your rig I'd be busy all year round. 😁

    5:00 So when I was a boy my parents rented and farmed a large chunk of property. We kept several acres of barnyard fenced in for horses and cattle. Our posts were old electrical poles my dad would pick up with a tri axle trailer from Wixom Michigan. We would cut them into 10 foot lengths, dig a 5 foot hole with an augur VERY similar to that one and run 4 strands of high tensil wire placed about a foot apart. The corner posts were 3 feet deeper. Overkill? Maybe! You can put a lot of tension on 12 guage wire. The point to that story is you can find yourself extensions for that auger and dig deeper holes if need be. Just a thought in the event you decide to build a barn. Or a well? LOL Cheers from Michigan.

    Nice! We had a large (er) batwing mower and brush hog mower at the ranch I managed in MT. I found that I liked the Rhino implements much better than any other brands out there. Even our neighboring ranches like them. We used the batwing for controlling large areas of noxious weeds, and the small single mower for mowing the ski trails in the fall, in preparation for the Winter ski season. Hope you have fun with the new toys! Don't forget to take a break every now and then to eat and sleep.

    That's some awesome equipment. Need to have a nice storage place for is all. Nothing like seeing thousands of dollars of stuff left to the elements...always sad. Sun and rain/ice will age it quickly...rust, checked hyd. lines, etc.
    I can see an awesome machine shed in the future. Line up the equipment and have it setup so the equipment is at the right height to hookup when you need it. No fiddling around. Keep it lean.
    What a blessing to have that equipment. It's like going to a dealer! Good luck!

    Glad to see you got an auger. It can be used to plant your trees. Do they have a pneumatic or hydraulic hammer/driver for setting posts. You probably have seen large models driving piles for high rises or piers. That method doesn't disturb the sub soil like the auger does and no back fill necessary. they probably have a plethora of tools and you'er not a greedy man. Congratulations on the new tools

    Just a tip for your pallet forks, in our bobcat we torched a hole for a hitch ball to move trailers. Wen you take the ball out you can also use it to move farm implements suck as the brush hog

    Nice, Cody. I believe that the smaller, (non folding), mower is a Bush Hog. It is used for cutting heavy brush. I know it will come in handy. Philia

    I am green with envy, sorry! A Large deck rotary mower (thought it was a flail mower )is so useful. Brush, high grass and small trees are all on the diet.
    The box blade makes it so easy to do road maintenance. That tiller means some acreage tillage. The post hole digger can get you in trouble. 811!
    Maybe a hay operation?

    Just a tip from a farmer. Remember to turn on the pto very slowly when you use such heavy equipment or you will break the safety bolt on the pto shaft, wich is very annoying to change.
    Best wishes from a danish fan.

    The cutter with the fold down wings (TS12) is a brush cutter, you can tell by the blades and the oval/bowtie center piece, the blades are thick and heavy and are pinned to the oval/bowtie and free to spin or stop as needed, the bowtie/oval piece that the cutters are pinned to is called a stump jumper it's supposed to ride up on the stump and pull the blades up so they don't get damaged. This unit is not a grass cutter although when new it will cut or fold over tall grass it works best cutting brush likely 2" diameter and less, until you are used to how it works keep it up off the ground the more friction(brush, sod, moss) it has to cut the more horsepower it takes and if you are up and down thick and thin the tractor will bog and you will not cut so well, those chains that are dangling on the open sides are to stop or slow down projectiles, do not operate this cutter with heart racer near the chain sides or new a vehicle you care for or anything else you don't want a dent in, that unit will throw rocks and wood chunks at least 50 feet at high seed if it gets by the dangling chains. That brush cutter is an awesome tool and may be a bit big for a 60 hp tractor but it will run it, if you hit too clumps of maples at one time it will stall the tractor, the brush cutter will be one of the best tools on the homestead if you have any amount of forest property that tool can cut brush, if you can drive over it, the cutter will cut it, you may have to go over the bent beanpoles a few times but the tool can do the work of many men better, you will enjoy that tool. And one last thing if your tractor is not hydrostatic the momentum built up in turning all of those cutters and gear will drive your tractor that is if you don't double clutch and have it revved up when you push the clutch the tractor will drive ahead if the cutter is spinning and it don't matter what's in front of you the tractor is going ahead and the brakes won't stop it, you will learn to control it, go slow and plan your path ahead, all the time! The tiller is a good tool as well but it sorta goes against the back to eden method or the layered lasagna method of gardening but it will fluff up your garden beds like nothing else, let the tailgate loose on the back as you till it will kick up the rocks to the top and the tailgate will leave a mark in the fluff where the rock bumped up and hit it so you can go back and remove the rocks. The tiller doesn't do sod well it will take a few passes over original sod to chew it up and it is still not going to be as good as no sod soil, if you want to do a new garden spot you should plough the field and roll the sod over in the fall so the sod will rot over fall/winter then the tiller will fluff it up easier. Something else you may want to be aware of that tiller will fluff up soil and leave it soil smooth with the tailgate dragging behind but down below those tiller tynes are packing the soil hard so down about the 1/2 the depth of your tiller diameter the ground will pack hard, that is why a lot of farmers went back to disc tilling. Make sure the drive end has required gear oil there is likely a top fill plug and an oil level drain screw don't overfill the gear box with oil, the oil heats up and will pressurize the gear box, there is likely a vent hole in the fill cap but if you put too much oil it will pressurize and you will see where it comes out. the tiller likely also ahs grease fittings inside on each end, make sure it stays greased, grease is cheap those bearing are not.The straight blade is a good tool as well the key to having a good road is a dry road, the only way to keep a road dry is slope it, 0.5% ( one half of one percent slope) water will run drain your water to the ditch side, it will take time (many passes) to get your roads sloped but its worth it, my roads are as wide as to widths of my straight blade and peaked in the center. If you are grading and cutting a dirt road don't be going as fast as you plow snow, if you catch a rock in the road it will swing you in that direction promptly or break something, so everything needs a bit of slack or you are going to be doing welding or replacing linkages. All attachments need slack don't snug them up too tight. Have fun!

    Can't wait to watch a video on how to "PROPERLY" sharpen the blades on the Rhino mower. Need a timber frame shed now to store all the attachments. I guess your tractor usage just went up. You will have to fix the fuel storage tank now as well. Lot to do on the homestead

      I just take the blades off of my mowers and use my bench grinder to put an edge on them. Do a chisel grind on the top side of the blade with a small bevel on the bottom side.

    • @420Homestead

      Yep you are right. Light quick passes and dunking it in water between passes on the grinder is the way to do it.
