We had 1cm of snow a few weeks ago in England. I shat bricks.
we survived the blizzard of 2017
i'm in the east midlands, we just got wind and rain. even then, the entire city ground to a halt.
What is that strange unit you are using after the number "1" ?
The people who should care about our streets do too :) Greetings from Czech republic.
I'm in Texas, it 86 yesterday and not a cloud in the sky. I'd welcome some snow... just a little
I have no use at all for a tractor like that, but I want one anyways.
I thought the same thing, lol.
JD Worx I'm hoping my SO doesn't see this or he'll want one.lol
I'm thinking a book called "reasons to want things you don't need" will be a bestseller
hahahaha @Julia Bradley quick delete your browser history.
HAHAHA me to. Tractors are so cool.
What a treasure you are! Many would have just stayed home, collapsed, after a full day of plowing their own...you went the extra mile and also helped a neighbor, which is still an undertaking!
I have to say i have a great deal of respect for you for helping your fellow man it warms my heart to see there are still great people out there.
I love to see you looking after Russell and your other neighbours, I sit and listen to the news some days in despair and wonder what this world is coming to! Then I watch a video like this and realise not all the world is consumed by commercialism and greed, thank you for being an inspiration to us all Cody.
I remember doing a lot of plowing for me and the neighbors one year. It's always a pain remembering where your stuff is much less guessing where the neighbors have stand pipes, decorations or landscaping.
Been there, done that !
EOSJOE s ha! Just last night I had a neighbor plow the end of my driveway, didn't ask if anything was in the area .,just came over and plowed through my stone retaining wall.. By accident.. Didn't say anything because I appreciate the fact he was helping out...
Hey Cody,I'd offer a bit of advice but it looks like the snow blower will cure all your ails. Well maybe someone else watching your channel can use this advice. Get yourself a rocket stove and run some copper pipe through it to heat up the pipe. Then you get yourself a garden hose maybe 50 to 100 feet and get that connected to the copper pipe. Check for leaks. When it's good to go fill the hose with a glycol mix (eco friendly of course). Lay out the garden hose in the snow and fire up your rocket stove and watch that snow melt. Once you get down to bare ground just push more snow on the hose with the tractor. Cheers, Bill
William Walter You sir are a genius, don't need it right now but a handy tool in the box. Thanks for sharing.
William Walter Wouldn't it take forever to melt that much snow? Wouldn't the frozen river be more of a pain than the snow?
I know that when I retire I'm getting hydronically heated driveway and sidewalks. Be it powered with evacuated tubes or a rocket stove. You bring up a good point Jttv.
William Walter I gotta a buddy in SE Idaho that does this for a business. He uses some kind of piping and puts it in the ground under the driveways and it keeps that driveway clear and dry year round. That's saying something for a place that sees below zero weather for the majority of the winter months. Works great! As a side note, it runs off the city electric hot water tank in the home it's hooked up to. The rocket stove idea is an awesome one! 👍
What's a rocket stove?
A man that helps his neighbors and considers their problems is a man indeed. Thanks for posting your videos...our world needs more people like you. Blessings of love and respect from the snowy foothills of Mt. Rainier.....Bob
I have family that lives near the same area as you do. What they did years ago was built a pole building near the highway, (about 2 miles from the house) and in the winter they park the trucks and cars in it and then just snowmobile from it to the house so that they don't need to do nearly as much plowing.
Mrs. W wont be starting seeds for some time now! Unless she starts them indoors. :)
Vancouver BC, a suburb named Surrey is where I live. We're getting our 3rd or 4th dump of snow right now. Scheduled to turn to rain, then supposedly heavy rain tomorrow. My snow removal unit.... our 40 year old metal craftsman snow shovel my old man bought in the 70's
Wow! Definitely a winter for the record books. As a trucker, I drive back and forth through the Cascade mountains, this winter has put a serious damper on our day to day operation.
Thank you for helping your neighbors.
Thanks for being a good neighbor and taking care of them.
I know they appreciate it and will return the gesture.
Just think how bad it would be if we didn't have global warming going on! SARCASM!!! There I fixed it. BTW We have never gotten out of the last ice age.
There has been almost no winter in Virginia. Just a few cold days. Just because it snows somewhere doesn't mean there's no global warming. Take a look at trends rather than weather. *Weather is different than climate.* Do some basic research about glaciers, see how they have shrunk over the past decades. Climate change is real. Who/What is responsible for that climate change? I'm not sure, I'm not a scientist. Can we (mankind) do something about it? I am very skeptical something can be done. But it IS REAL.
roberson644 chill out, it was a joke. To make the statement that someone doesn't understand the theory based on a word comment is pretty disrespectful. I would hope we could have more civility on this channel.
+roberson644 Clearly someone accepted the Chicken Little tales told by Malthusian cranks. The planet goes between ice ages and warming periods because of the sun's activity, cosmic rays, volcanic activity, & orbital eccentricities.
It was reported today a whisleblower says the Temp books were cooked just before Obama went to the UN climate thing a few yrs ago
Lance Surgeon This is the reason they changed their talking point to "climate change" that way: it's cold=it's our fault...it's hot=it's our fault!
I was born and raised in Michigan and in 1965 when I was 5 my dad bought a 1941, Fergeson-Ford 9N tractor. Starting at that age we plowed gardens, leveled yards, did landscaping and anything we could to make a little side money and yes I plowed a LOT of snow in my life! My absolute favorite time of my life was with working with my dad with that old tractor. I lost my dad when I was 23 and I miss him as much as when it happened but I have my memories. :). I hope that your son and you make the same memories and that you have a really longed lived life together.
That aint nuttin. Check out Tug Hill NY. 300 - 400 inches per year. Sometimes 10 feet in a week.
muskybubba That's nothing, check out the north pole.
I am 4 1/2 hours SW of there just inside the Pa border, used to take the sleds up there all the time. Great riding except for the Canucks.
You are right! Tug Hill got ten feet of snow just last week. And I've seen the Donner Pass in California with a thirty foot snow base. Snow resting right on the roofs of the two story million dollar chalets.
He lives in Washington. we have the world record of snowfall.
As a transplanted Northerner now living fulltime in Florida, God Bless You and the family for putting up with that. Ahhh, to be young! :-) Cheers.
Soooo much snow! I'm glad I moved to the south where it melts by noon.
I love your neighbor generosity. I did the same for my neighbor and now my son does it for him for me. This keeps me watching.
Welcome to the grand solar minimum
Estrogen Acres o
Nice of you to help your neighbors! We are in Western WA. Lots of rain over the next couple of days. So, I can see on the local weather reports how you will be snowed in! Be safe.
I'm so glad I live in a place where the foot of snow that we just got is a very rare occurrence.
My JD 3010 has a rear mounted snow blower and bucket on the front. It's good to take out the big snowdrifts and has more power than is needed. I love that tractor.
Wranglerstar, did you just pull a Good Samaritan move?! Thumbs up, nicely done.
Count your blessings! I moved to Colorado for the majestic beauty of the land and the laid back living style...instead, I'm stuck in Pueblo...with desert conditions, very little change in scenary, few trees, and a very low water table...hardly anything grows here, it's quite depressing! I'm a Wisconsinite, raised in the Kettle Moraine...I would trade you ANY DAY!
Who else saw Ginger?!?!
Wesley Aring I saw her
Yup,me too.
yup. Danced the cursor over the heartracer looking for a link, but no.
My guess is he was hiding the license plate on the truck with Heartracer's picture
Think he was blocking the license plate.
I am glad to see wonderful people who are willing to volunteer. my 9 yr old is now volunteering at the Tomah Wi. VA
you inspire me to help out others!
I have one neighbor I cleared the driveway and city sidewalk she said she was going to make me a nice big cup of hot chocolate NEVER got it boy I was really looking forward to that.Oh well I guess some people just dont appreciate good old hospitality.
You deserve even more credit than people give you, giving up your own day to take care of your neighbors and letting them park in your driveway. I am so glad that there are people like you that are willing to do such a thing. All the power to you Cody.
Man I wish we could have some of that snow here in England :(
we just got over 18" on our ranch a few days ago. just recently got power back. We've been hand pumping water like settlers for 3 head of horses and a goat herd.
u are a GREAT GUY TAKING Care of ur neighbors
Ah! Starting at 8:26 you discuss the problem of snowbanks and the snowthrower solution. That's great! I'm happy for you to get a snowthrower, will be watching for it!
They would love to have that snow in the Northeast . Thanks for the videos. Enjoying!
Maybe Cody could sell them some snow on his Amazon store :-p
lol
Myrtha Gunter we don't need anymore here we are ready for spring lol
Brian Philbrook , I am looking at seed catalogs myself, I also watch a meteorologist from up your way , Joe Cioffi, on RUclips. Most of the comments are about wanting more snow. Looks like you may get more snow tomorrow, and we might get a touch of it to in the Southeast.
Hell yeah dude you're such a nice individual for helping out the peope who were here before us and I know I'll be glad someone was there to help my old pops when I wasent capable of helping him out! much respect for you sir.
Thank God for that tractor.
Cody, from all of us that have older parents that live far away from us, I thank you with all my hart for being that one AWESOME NEIGHBOR ! GOB BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY CODY!
Dang!! Russel seems like a pretty cool dude!! How about a video on him.
Michael Chavez Russel is the older gentleman wearing the riding slicker...Jeff is the real Martian.
Hi Cody, I've been in snowed-in Canada Bristish Columbia for the past week +, and am just now home, and catching up on my favorite RUclipss.... There was already 4-5' + of snow there, and we got 30 inches while we were there.; I saw how snow can create "issues".
You are the most honerable and special neighbor a person could have. There will certainly be a special place in Heaven for you.
I bet you are devastated to have run over the heart racer at 1:20. . .
Saw the forecast for the Northwest, snow and more snow. Thanks for helping Russel and Jeff out. Can see how that tractor has been a Godsend. Looking forward to that snowblower.
Oh boy never seen so much, but living in Tennessee, we are getting thunderstorms at the moment
Dylan Hardin It hasn't snowed this year. But I wish it woul cause I put snow tires on my car.. in Milwaukee.
well at least we know there is one smart cheese head living in that state can't say much about the rest tho.
We're in TN too and are so disappointed in the lack of snow this year. I made a video of our "Blizzard"
Dylan Hardin where I live it's raining w/ thunderstorms in Cali- high country.
shoving loose snow here and there your running out of space. Put the bucket on your tractor go over to a pile and using the bucket press down to make it hard packed snow then ram into it this will give you a hard block. Then continue doing this and pile your blocks in one area creating a wall of hard packed snow. You'd be surprised how much you can squash the snow down giving you space works in Scotland.
The snow is incredible. What did they do BT (before tractors)? I guess people prepared to live snowed in for the winter.
mentalfloss.com/article/32006/scenes-history-snow-removal
thank you. I do not live in a snow area so I am fascinated by it.
If you drive a lot trust me you will not be fascinated anymore.
Sleighs! They didn't try to shovel the snow. They went over it.
oh yes we did shovel, I have thrown snow as high as I could in my early 20's in 71 in leavenworth wa. I couldn't throw it any higher, above the car port roof.
really appreciated the help Cody! That snow storm was intense...so much so quickly...hard to stay on top of it all.
It is warm here in SC! ;-)
SkinnyMedic yep it was 70 degrees where I am today hahah
enjoy cause you fools can't handle anything below 50 degree not to mention if your state gets a 1/4 in of snow it shuts down like its the end of the world
Tt Ss We can handle anything we need to
I have friends up there they come to chicago all the time and whens its 30 here we are wearing shorts they are bundled up so i disagree
When I passed the bank on the way home from work (around 1:30 AM in Northern Kentucky) it said 31 degrees. I stopped and got gas and felt like I was freezing.
I saw this situation shaping up (and called it) a few months ago. The plow is the wrong tool for your long lane -- you need a snowthrower! You've got those high banks now, and nowhere to push the new snowfalls. The tractor's bucket might work to gouge the banks away, but it will be a lot of work.
I was thinking the bucket would serve to remove the banks. But that's a lot of time and energy...
8:16 What is that radio program? Describing how the USA would invade Russia.....?
+David audio book
My guess is a book on CD about WW2 Eastern Front....Army Group North were Germans
Oh? does it describe how John McCain and the CIA funded the ultra right and fascist parties in Ukraine, to overthrow the old president of Ukraine. You know, another US backed coup. And that is why Putin annexed Crimea, as a defensive measure?
which audio book? i would sure like to get it.
Wranglerstar Ha, hadn't thought of that :) I really need to get into those..
That is a lot of snow. You are a good man for sharing your tractor with those who don't have one. I remember before you had your own tractor, one of your neighbours lent you theirs. That is what makes for great community, neighbours helping neighbours.
Your demo with this yanmar tractor has actually made me consider yanmar as a viable option for my next compact tractor purchase. I have used most of the other options, but being able to watch you put it through it's paces has been a true help in my decision making process. Thank You
Love the evergreens covered in snow. Love your taking care of your neighbors. If you get too much snow, as you know, put the bucket back on and just make piles... I don't have a plow on my Kubota, but making piles is easy with the bucket. I can even move them if I need more room!
I love watching this. Gives me faith in humanity. Also it's fun to see what weather is headed my way. Just north of Yellowstone in Montana and I can always count on your videos to show how bad a storm might be. Good on you Cody, need more people out there that go out of their way for each other.
How nice to be able to share such a good tool with your friends and neighbors!!
I’m a Florida boy so all of this is completely foreign to anything I’ve experienced. It amazes me to see you dealing with this snow.
With that much snow you might want to build, during the summer, an icehouse for off-grid cooling. An inner wall, 2 or 3 feet of space filled with sawdust or something like that, and an outer shell. Pack snow around the inside of inner wall and store items inside to keep the cool during the summer.
When I lived in a different neighbourhood in my own house, l bought a chinese motorisized rotating brush, about 7 feet wide and 3 feet in diameter, made for brooming sidewalks. It was a great tool, strong enough for getting the snow off the driveways and sidewalks we usually have in our aerea in South Germany. Two feet of snow that may fall over night have been no problem for the brush. It threw the snow more than 10 feet.
I cleaned literally all the sidewalks and garage driveways, often every few hours when it was snowing a lot.
I gave the motorbrush to a protestant church I where I allways went to for worship Jesus and the Lord, as I moved to another part of the city as a present. The janitor of the church was really happy with it.
As a town foreman I use an old Case 1175 Tractor with an 8 ft. double auger blower. Only problem was the rear 3 point hitch (driving in reverse) but it worked great. Chute would clog up once in a while in the wet stuff, and of course the odd shear pin breaking. Happy Blowing. Hope you get your blower before the spring :)
I love that you helped out Russel and Jeff. My dad used to do that with his tractor, he's not with us anymore.
That was a beautiful thing you did helping your neighbor out GOD BLESS YOU
Cody you are kindness personified. This video is a great teaching tool.
Mr. Wranglerstar, I just wanted to give you a HUGE thank you. As someone in their late 20s, I have experienced just about everything that the last nearly three decades have had to offer up and I have seen the changes that have left us distant and isolated as a society. Outside of myself, it is getting harder and harder to find examples of kindness that extended much further than a person's own immediate surroundings. I couldn't tell you the last time I saw someone carrying an elderly woman's groceries, or any examples of heartfelt chivalry. Watching your videos is one of the brightest parts of my day and I share them often in the hopes that maybe someone I know will see a real example of the character of a real man. I am far from a manly man. I've never held and ax in my life, and I seldom ever get my hands dirty. I will probably never dig a pond or build a workshop. However, your videos give me hope. Hope that there is REAL goodness and godliness left in this world. Hope that common sense is a more powerful tool than any textbook or politician. I think JRR Tolkien said it best when he wrote "Some believe it is only great power that can hold evil in check, but that is not what I have found. It is the small everyday deeds of ordinary folk that keep the darkness at bay. Small acts of kindness and love"
My sincerest thanks,
Nick
The definition of a gentleman. Is it too much to ask what state you're in? Absolutely gorgeous landscape.
Your neighbours are lucky to have such a gracious man as you to help them out. "Each of us should please our neighbours for their good, to build them up."
Love watching snowplow videos while sitting in my office with the windows open and fans going. 79* today.
What a beautiful soul you are Cody! Good for you helping everyone out :))
Growing up the neighbors on either side of me were in their 70's when I was a teenager and my dad and I would always plow their driveways for them and it might seem selfless, but the gratitude that they gave me was more than enough payment.
You've got a humble and gracious heart. I'm a glad supporter of the channel.
That is the real American hospitality I grew up with. Its amazing the differences in living in the country vs the city. Good job Cody.
I can honestly say I absolutely love waching your videos!....I suffer terrible from anxiety a struggle to sleep at night and I allways wach a few of your videos before going to bed I find them so therapeutic it's stuff like this particular video could wach for ages. your living the life I dream of (wich is something that isn't achievable in the uk) even struggles such as this in your video just seem so enviable!
+Joe shmoe (clankerbuster) thank you Joe
Wranglerstar you are the man!!!!! So much respect for you always. God Bless from the Midwest
Hey, Cody. hard to say for sure, but it looks to me like the angle of your blade could be better. I'm pretty sure if you lower the loader and curl up a bit, the snow will actually roll along the blade toward the trailing side. it's a bit tricky, but when you get it right, it's a beautiful thing.
I agree, a good tractor is an independence tool. don't know how I got by so many years without one.
Cody, I'm near Buffalo, NY and I've got grass in my front yard. It was 50 degrees here yesterday. We've usually got feet of snow on the ground this time of year. It's 17 degrees today, but it's supposed to be in the 40's again in a couple of days. Looks like another year of drought in the north east is coming. Great video as always, looking forward to the footage of the snowblower in action. Cheers.
My wonderful neighbor also does this for us and other neighbors with his tractor, thank you and him
Watching this video makes me so homesick! I miss the mtn so much. Thanks for posting wranglerstar, takes me back.
You're a good man, for helping your neighbors. God Bless you & yours.
I'm glad it finally stopped snowing here at my house . I live at about 5000 feet in elevation on the east side of the Sierras and it is still snowing at the higher elevations. I think this is the same storm you have been dealing with.
Over in the Hells Canyon area It's been snowing for over 24 hours and we had a 5 hour power outage last night. Stoked up the wood stove and turned on the LED Laterns and played a board game with the wife and kids. It's just now beginning to switch to rain.
It takes a village, thank you for sharing the kindness.
It's such a blessing that you were able to get that tractor this year. God sure is watching out for the Wranglerstar family and neighbors.
Gawd I would give my eye teeth for that tractor....I also helped my elderly neighbors with snow removal for over 20 yes but two years ago my old tractor died and I am now disabled and can't work so I can't buy a new one... now it gets done when it it done....sometimes days.... you deserve it simply helping your neighbors means a ton to them....
Wranglerstar is THE true american hero. I dont watch him much anymore but when I do I love every minute.
what you need is a bucket for that tractor. i get the appeal of a plow but every time i'm plowing snow a bucket comes in more handy than a plow for the deep stuff. i run a plow truck in the winter for the company i work for and ran a bobcat for anything more than 4 inches. a bucket comes in handy because when you run out of places to put the snow you can always pile more on top, push it back or move it out of your way to make room for new snow.
ps. the blower attachments for a tractor in my experience have been trouble more than helpful they break more because they get clogged up with ice and it either breaks the drive shaft or shears the bolts off. just something that should have been taken into consideration.
Lifelong subscriber here, wow, thank you, way to go and way to be. God Bless you and yours
Not that I had any doubt, but you Cody are a great neighbour.
Kudos to Yanmar in lending your that tractor, it sure looks like the tool for the job, their generosity has helped out many families in your area, well done Yamar!
Funny, I have often heard people say things like "With all that land why in the world would that farmer build his house so close to the main road?" or other such comments about being so close to the main road. Well often the old farm house was there before the main road was put in, but I also remember my grandfather commenting on the fact that is it is a LOT easier to dig yourself out to that close main road than from the back side of your property!
Enjoyed the ride along Cody, do take care out there.
Cheers!
Mr W, you are an awesome neighbor! God Bless you and your family!
Wow you know I live in Philadelphia Pennsylvania and when I found your channel I loved it but you definitely take it to the next level by helping your neighbor's, I've tried to teach my kids the same you are one special individual and I say that without the knowledge of your financial position as far as equipment as that would not matter as you do it from the heart, god bless and keep up the good work!
Chris from Philly
We get snow like this in Northern Indiana, but only once in a great while. We're supposed to get some snow today but the forecast calls for temps in the 50s this weekend.
Country people are the best.
It is really nice of you to help your neighbors.
Glad to hear Yanmar will have a snowblower attachment, because you could certainly test the hell out of it this winter! Helping the older neighbors is a great thing we all need to do, it is respectful and pays in making us better neighbors!
Be safe. Peace and Blessing. we will be praying for you
Hi Cody I hope you, the family and neighbours are all ok that is a hell of a lot of snow. Stay safe and keep warm.
What a blessing you are to your neighbors! Blessings
Whew - we dodged that SNOW Bullet! Raining here North of Portland but we are at less than 1000 feet. Glad to see snow disapperaring here and was amazed to see you hammered as well as Starr and others in Idaho.
Back in Minnesota in the 1950s we used a large snow bucket on the manure loader and that worked good for picking up snow and dumping it in piles out of the way.
I have to agree with the snow blower for the front. I have a John Deere about the same size and I prefer the blower. You can put the snow where you want and it compacts it also. My piles are so much smaller with the blower than the plow, plus you can get right up to the wood piles and the barns. Well worth the investment. Gotta love sitting in the cab with the heater on playing in the snow. I really don't mind snow blowing. We have 12 inches coming tomorrow up here in NH tomorrow so I will be out after its done.
Thanks Cody, for sending the snow our way over here in Kalispell Montana. We needed more. :)
Nice helping your neighbors out Cody, I remember those winter days with fighting the snow..
That tractor is a blessing and at the right time.
Living in the Phoenix area, I sometimes miss the snow. Thanks for fixing that. I'm all set down here.
