I've always found it strange they have a Safety Car but it never gets used in the same way they do for car racing, to control the pack during an incident.

When a rider crashes, most of the time the only work done is to carry the crashed bike. A few people can do this. In car racing, if a car get wrecked, they need a crane to carry the wrecked car, which requires more time, thus a safety car is needed for additional safety.

I got a ticket to be inside the circuit at a WSBK event… and there’s a whole mix of stuff that you don’t see on camera. And I got to see the safety car mess up (before the tv broadcast) and run wide through the gravel on the corner I was on. It was pretty hilarious actually.
