      the carbide insert failed at 6:05, that’s why they’re splintery

    When i worked with cnc lathes i managed to do high speed machining with old SBL 500 lathe :) look the old machine on google youll be surprised

    How you do facing and centring of rod?

      Centering is simple ...gauge with ball point magnetically attached to machines hull (not spindle) then hammering the chucks until theres little as possible oscilation ....facing is simple too ....cut the 1st face then turn around and face the other side

    might tell your operator that when you break a chip threading,thats not supose to be hahahhah manual machinist for 20 years i really hate a lazy nc operator

      Granted that thread looked like shit but... you can break chips while threading. I use special Iscar threading inserts that are designed to do this and they work well.
      Get with the times ya dinosaur. lol.

      It looks like 360 brass, it breaks super easy. Has nothing to do with being lazy, it's just the material. I would be much more concerned with the part push back at 9:57
