I built my own lathe with a drill press, angle grinder, a portable band saw, and countless of hours to make them fit. It isn’t a lathe by professional standards but it does what a lathe should be. That lathe is a tool you can’t buy in a store. Any tools can be bought except your own design😂
Many years ago I built such live spindle tooling for my 10 inch lathe. I used a windshield wiper motor for same. These motors are incredibly robust and very powerful when run at 30VDC!
This is definitely ASMR for machinists! I took 3 years of machine shop in high school, and it's pretty amazing what you can create with a good Cincinnati end mill and a decent lathe! Some very cool projects here. New subscriber.😉👍👍
I can't believe that I've just wasted ten minutes of my life, watching Mr Craft making a ball turning attatchment. I thought it was going to be something spectacular, and it just ended up being a rehash of an idea that is so old it's got hair growing on it. Craft , or Daft ???
I noticed several things. Some real cool ideas. Either the tail stock needs the windage adjusted, the Chuck's bent, or something is wrong. Center drill speed was way too slow, you determine the speed by the smaller diameter. The arbor was wobbly. Need to finr tune your feed speed and climb cutting choices.
Love the videos my man, please, with love brother, be careful with loose clothes around machines. A sweat shirt tie can wrap around very quickly and it would not be good 🙏🏻
WOW, I just had the best Sunday morning RUclips experience. Great ideas and tools, well made and good video editing. Questions: How much material does the roller ball tool compress the material compared to a final cut? Where did you buy the little grinding motor and accessories for it? Most importantly, THANK YOU for sharing with all of us.
hi! Please don't get me wrong, really good job, well done! But you can definitely buy rolling tools! =) Maybe not in the hardware store next door but in shops for tools and accessories for machine tools. keep it up Greetings from Germany
Honestly you kinda miss the mark, anything you can make with a mill and a lathe can be bought, the more niche the higher the price. The point behind having the equipment is to make things, this video happens to be on making tools to allow a wider range of things to be able to be made. Ain't no mystery about it.
a year back then a would say its awesome !! but now I converted my lathe and mill to cnc... and I would say awesome if I figured out how to make program for my stuff )) So now im using my machine half cnc half manual )) and i like it ) To bad have not much free time.
Very nice! Thank you. These are on my list to build also. Yeah, I know I could buy them. But for me, the fun is in making the tools. If I can make a tool that I can use to make another tool, then use that tool to make another tool? Oh, I am in hog heaven. It satisfies a deep desire in my mind. I see where quite a few would rather buy their tools and then use them to build a part. I enjoy that also, but buidling the tool just jumpstarts my fun motor.
Excelentes projetos! Mr Craft!
I loved the projects and the simple way you went about making them and yes I would like to build at least one of them. Are the plans available for sale or download? Thanks.
I enjoyed the video, but would be concerned about the longevity of an open frame permanent magnet motor being used where metal chips are flying. Seems like chips would tend to collect on the outer surface of the motor case, and sooner or later one will get in through a cooling slot and damage either the commutator or an armature winding.
@@傅宇 Again I am asking for the details ... How much power? What software? How much money? Is it really the same exact unit as shown in this video? Where is your video?
@@傅宇 I have received no email, I have received no details.... Would you try again or just answer here in the video details or this comment area please. Thanks.

Roller burnishing was very common at one time, they are also used for sizing, particularly in bores where they can be used to get 5 micron tolerance and a great surface finish. Mini toolpost grinder was interesting, what size was the motor?
I have had an epiphany! I should have become a machinist.... half a century ago!
Beautiful work... thanks for sharing!

Very nice. Good design. A nit: dovetail for the slide probably would have been more rigid.
Завораживающее видео. Прекрасная работа и привосходный результат. Браво!
Loved the burnishing tool.
Hacía tiempo que no veía algo tan ingenioso y constructivo. Gracias. Hoy tienes un nuevo suscriptor.
I agree and have also subsribed. Thank you, Mikhail. Greetings from Ohio, USA.
Вы изобретательны и аккуратны! Приятно смотреть!😊
You must have some very good inserts. I would not have expected DCMT inserts to withstand the beating you're giving them with those interrupted cuts.
I don't like dcmt inserst for interpreted cuts. But no because of breakage. Surface finish seems to be always ... Record like?
Awesome… Good storytelling, love the different camera angles, the image processing... everything is perfect! Hope to see more and more.

Mikhael, use some soft shims to hold your part in the chuck. It won't get damaged by doing so. Best! Job

What steel did you use for making the various parts?
Rusty.

Nice cut the the chase video. Good ideas.
Your fly cutter is tail dragging. Off a few microns from vertical somewhere. Or not rigid for some reason.
Nice if you have the equipment to make the tool.
Good aidi
DAMMMMM !!! 😀👍💥
Un trabajo destacable
About how much does the burnishing tool decrease the outside diameter of a part? Say 1” from machine finished to nice and smooth.
