You must have some very good inserts. I would not have expected DCMT inserts to withstand the beating you're giving them with those interrupted cuts.

I don't like dcmt inserst for interpreted cuts. But no because of breakage. Surface finish seems to be always ... Record like?

This is definitely ASMR for machinists! I took 3 years of machine shop in high school, and it's pretty amazing what you can create with a good Cincinnati end mill and a decent lathe! Some very cool projects here. New subscriber.😉👍👍

Many years ago I built such live spindle tooling for my 10 inch lathe. I used a windshield wiper motor for same. These motors are incredibly robust and very powerful when run at 30VDC!

I noticed several things. Some real cool ideas. Either the tail stock needs the windage adjusted, the Chuck's bent, or something is wrong. Center drill speed was way too slow, you determine the speed by the smaller diameter. The arbor was wobbly. Need to finr tune your feed speed and climb cutting choices.

Questions: How much material does the roller ball tool compress the material compared to a final cut?
Where did you buy the little grinding motor and accessories for it?
Most importantly, THANK YOU for sharing with all of us.

I enjoyed the video, but would be concerned about the longevity of an open frame permanent magnet motor being used where metal chips are flying. Seems like chips would tend to collect on the outer surface of the motor case, and sooner or later one will get in through a cooling slot and damage either the commutator or an armature winding.

Mr Craft!

Why did u not show the 2nd tool in action? Isn't the bearing supposed to allow the ball roll in the direction of the turning workpiece? it looks like u had it perpendicular and rather allowed the ball to turn along with the z axis(is it z on a lathe?).

I'm not sure what the point is in publishing a video about something you don't seem to understand!
I am searching for info on the new hand launch assist. I assume the Gs setting applies to the motor, in that you open the throttle but the engine will not start until it has sensed 1.5G or whatever has been selected, when it will open to the selected throttle setting.
It is very frustrating that Spektrum have produced this update but with no instructions.

This is a lesson in how to not make a good video.......
    1. Do not give the viewer a clue as to what you are making, just show 20 minutes of things going around, metal being cut, unknown parts being set together, etc. No one will have ever seen this before! 2. Do not explain anything. Voice is BAD and must be avoided. Ditto for captions and subtitles. 3. Add music to make up for the lack of information, preferably annoying music.
