    I Like the video...but hate the background music. IMO the real music is the sound of chips hitting the GoPro 🎶 LOL!

      There is a hidden rule in youtube. Every video should have unnecessary high volume music!

    I use this high feed cutter too. As long as the workpiece is not alloy steel, it works quite good. In more difficult material, the tool has a tendence to heat up and burn the cutting edge. With a Iscar tool with same cutting datas, the tool and workpiece stay cool(means handwarm). But in case of plunging, the seco tool is superb.
    Thanks for the nice video!

    Все рекламные ролики на куске металла. Вы тонкостенную сделайте, с чистотой и допуском, а это можно и болгаркой ободрать.

    Not a machinist but hobbyist. Ended up on this video after watching CNC fail compilations. Dumb question, what happens if you crash a large end-mill with inserts, does it just break the tips or becomes something more severe like where you need to even fix the spindle itself.

    • @Strokes1983
      @Strokes1983 2 года назад +2

      Depends on the crash. A lot of times you'll get away with the tips and tip screws being bust. But if it's programming and it rapids into the fixture you could get major damage. Doesn't happen as often now with things getting done on simulator prior

      Happend to a workmade of mine on a 5 axis machine. The Spindle need to renewed, also the Tool was destroit and the Table, had massive damage also. Sad Day, it takes more than one week to fix it.

      Yeah, sometimes it just doesn’t sound like much damage.. one shop I worked did hips and knees and shoulders. They roughed out 2 hips from one rectangular piece titanium with a 1-1/4 HSS rougher. One day the guy didn’t change out the end mill at the prescribed time. So, it broke halfway through the next part. It made a huge bang. It damaged the spindle on a 50 taper Mazak

    I always see the rotation of the 5th axis when they're cutting tapered angles.... Wouldn't a 3D pass ball e-mill be faster? That's what I always do...Just curious...

    What is with the obsession to add the most annoying music to otherwise good videos? Just the sounds of the machine and cutters would be fine. At least there is a mute button.

    276m/min on F40M (low-speed PVD grade with thin coating and focus on toughness)? ap=0,5 on XOMX12? It is a joke? High feed 6 in the beginning shows only 50% of its opportunities. Good video, but strange cutting data.

      What’s Speeds and feeds you recommended ?

    • @victorpoptsov8617
      @victorpoptsov8617 3 года назад

      @@189Moncho For High Feed 6 with ME13-T350M inserts on small overhang (1st part) and for such combination ap-ae: fz=1,5 - for start up to 1,8mm/teeth (fz - main optimization parameter) for ae=30%, fz=1,2..1,5 for ae=70% (ae is important for productivity in this case); Vc=200..250m/min (not so important parameter compare to fz in HF milling, it is normal value for T350M - CVD grade with focus on toughness and difficult applications, when machining low-alloyed and low-carbon steel). There is possibility to increase ap up to 1,5..1,6mm (max level =1,8mm for insert) keep in mind rigidity and vibration level; for ap=1,6 possible to start on fz=1,1..1,3 (if ae=30%). 218.19-R230 insert is really brutal, like brick, difficult to breake, possible to work on highest fz. Strong side of video - machining without coolant - rule for milling constructional steels with CVD grades. For F40M - normal value of Vc on such steel - 120..140m/min.
