    Something I noticed in the first bit of the video that I think Casey does really well is that when he says something and the driver doesn't seem to understand, instead of just repeating the same thing but louder, he tries rephrasing using different words. I've always found this to be very helpful (both as someone who was speaking English to folks who didn't speak much English themselves, and as someone traveling in places where I didn't speak much of the local language but understood some of the words) since it makes it more likely that one of the words used will be in the vocabulary of the person listening.

    • @Qwkynuf
      @Qwkynuf 9 месяцев назад +5

      This is also great advice when dealing with people who are hearing impaired. Often, changing the word choice, or even changing the word order, will "click" something in my brain and let me understand what is being said.

If you want to use it offline, you have to had previously downloaded said language into your phone. Not knowing what language you would come across that would be a ton of data you would have to download to your phone. If this is something you would want to have for the offchance of needing it, then it might be better to purchase the one magic prepper was talking about. Its amazing how many so called semi drivers there are out there that have NO knowledge of how the truck operates,or how to even back one up. Case in point ,my son works at an aluminium factory and he told me a story about a driver pulling in to pick up a large heavy load of products and to have him back the rig up to the loading dock as he's never backed a semi up before !! WTF ???

    I retired from a railroad that operated in a steel mill. We had a low bridge that had signs and alarms if the tractor trailers were too tall. The drivers who were too tall and hit the bridge, didn’t know how tall their rig was, let alone speak English. The bridge was raised right before I left.

    Thank you for the video! I'm an old guy and still benefit from some of the things you do as far as customer relations. You let him keep going into his truck where he would fiddle around for a minute, then leave. You never gave him orders but just opened the door after he closed it and double checked the steering wheel tie-down. 🙂

      I had one one time that pulled into the guard shack at a Walmart DC and went to pull away and couldn’t build air so the trans wouldn’t shift brakes wouldn’t release truck was dead in the water… The company/Driver had bypassed the air dryers for some reason I ended up draining 10 gallons plus of water out of his air tanks and it drove away..

    The fact of having video or photos when you do a job is the best way to avoid "misunderstandings" with the client and although there are people who are offended, I think it should be the most normal thing in the world, whether you are the client, as if you are the one providing the service.

    I'm a maintenance manager at a 80 unit apartment complex and had a delivery driver come speeding thru my complex. I YELLED slow the f%#k down he (the driver happen to be black) proceeded to tell me I was yelling at him because he was black I told him how on hell was I able to see that you were black with the sun on your windshield and I was on a second floor landing. We went back and forth in which he claimed to call the bbb and I said "do you have the number or should I give it to you" he sped off down the main street.

    Truck drivers used to be the best drivers on the road. Based on what I've seen out there in the past 20 or more years I've wondered if drivers who are not qualified or even properly licensed are pushing 10s of tons of machinery down the road at 10+ mph over the posted limits.

      Its an automated manual transmission or as most would refer to, an "automatic transmission" so there would be no missing of shifts unless the transmission itself had an electrical or mechanical failure.

    Nice deer bumper. This bumper will protect the truck from 1 deer. Moose bumper will protect the truck from 50 deer and will put good amount of weight on the front of your truck to keep it down especially on the ice. Highly recommend to install one. It will turn heads in your neck of the woods :)

    Happy Thanksgiving, I could not imagine someone who drives for a living and not know a thing about how their truck operates and how to fix small issues. IMO it was a good call to go back in his truck to make sure he didn't sabotage anything, weather by accident or otherwise. Personally I don't think this was the actual driver of that truck. One reason was he was wearing sandals & two, he didn't know much about this truck. Maybe they just enlisted you to help steal this truck.

  • @richardthomas1743
    @richardthomas1743 9 месяцев назад +19

    Hey Casey , to be honest I was thinking that when you got there that the truck was going to be one of them with a toilet hole cut through the rear sleeper compartment and that the under side of the truck was going to be covered in human excrement!🤮 When I saw the driver I was even more scared for you!! 😮. It was a relief when I saw that was not the case. On a call like that one it was good that your dad was there. The payment went through and you got the job done so all is good! 👍

    Hi Mr. LaDelle!
    I’m a 18 year old kid from Utah I just wanted to say that I love watching your videos on RUclips. I’m really curious about the on the spot chain system that you have on your trucks I was wondering if there was a way that you could possibly do a video on that? That would go into more depth about them. Thank you so much for creating such great quality videos you do an amazing job on them.
