Just remember Loctite is your friend also good gas and good oil I recommend 93 octane yamalube 1st gallon through the car mixed at 28:1 after that I mix at 32: one that equals out to 4 ounces per gallon also make sure to check your throttle and brakes make sure when you hit the brakes it is not causing the throttle to go negative or positive and make sure you are getting full travel on the throttle this will prevent a runaway and also a bad running issue good luck I think you’ll love it
Nice truck! I just got a 5B the other day. It came with the GT-3B as well. It's a nice radio, but I wish it had subtrim. I pretty much had to max out my steering trim even after setting it as best as I could mechanically to get the servo arm set 90°.
Check your steering rods they may be way out of adjustment you could try zeroing your trim back out and adjusting your steering rods to get the proper wheel alignment then go back at it
@@LargeeeScaleLife I did that. Unfortunately, the servo splines won't allow me to center the arm. I'm going to replace the stock servo arm with an aluminum arm.
Em Eetch congratulations they are awesome have fun running it just make sure you’re tuned up good and a half sides not running to lean and these little motors will last a really long time I’ve been running good to stroke oil in line and I’ve only had one plug go bad and that’s because I ran it out of gas
One good hit on that front end and you are done. Aluminum arms are not the way to go on rigs. Every rig I get with them I take them off and run either stock or RPM parts. Before people start hating on me, I see that this Baja has aluminum arms from the factory. So I hope someone out there comes up with better arms that aren't so prone to bending or breaking. Nice rig and I wonder if a 70CC twin would fit in there. The kill switch is an awesome idea, but will it still work if you lose power in the receiver?

Baja Max. Sweet truck! Man I been eyballing it since release. May just get one once back in stock. Thanks for the walk through man. You got a new sub!!
Steel City RC definitely love mine but I will tell you one thing Loctite is your friend there were so many screws that try to back out on me on this definitely take all of the hub carriers and everything at the wheels that is metal to metal apart and apply Loctite The rest of the rig is really solid the only thing I really had to do with it was to adjust the steering arms to set the toe in correctly Mann was towed out pretty severely but pretty easy to get that back in line and set the steering up
Steel City RC seem to be pretty tough they are holding up pretty good so far I did happen to have one of the bolts that hold the upper ball wind in the upper a arm come out and caused me to snap one of the ball ends but they sent me a new one that’s one of the pieces I forgot to lock tight. The only other problem I had was a broken dog bone on the rear axle but I think that was just a bad part from the factory and they replaced it quickly. It runs really good I probably wouldn’t bash this or jump it too hard as it does have pretty long arms. I’m going to take it a little easy on mine at least until a good amount of replacement parts are in the warehouse if you were going to get one to beat the hell out of that would probably look at the terminator Baja it is basically the same truck just without the extended arms or look at their 45 mL short course truck
@@LargeeeScaleLife good info. I like the look of the max though. The idea of 2wd that big and can wheelie. LOL sold!! Probably just use it for fun in fields etc. No heavy bashing
Steel City RC then you would love this thing it has a good amount of power I cost a little bit of power on mine because I put one of their duel silenced exhaust pipes on it that has dual mufflers on it just to make it quiet it sounds really good but it did cost me a little bit of power but I don’t piss my neighbors off. I have a really large grass Area I run mine in and it is really fun the wide a arms make it so you can let off the gas grab some brake turn get back on it and almost drift this thing around where the other Baja trucks would roll over this thing just slides drifts and goes
Remove the diff and get the thick ass grease out, replace it with the oil you prefer . The crap in there sucks. Theres a video on RUclips to install a bearing in the wheel for the radio. Have fun getting the kill switch in the small box . I used a killer bee with beeper and light.
Foundry RC Just get some Loctite to go with it there is so much metal on this truck you pretty much have to disassemble it and re-lock tight everything but other than that it’s a blast it could stand a little better pipe but it’s not terrible without spending hundreds of dollars I don’t think you’ll find a nicer one
things a monster man :), i was thinking of getting this but im going to go for their 45cc baja buggy cause i dont think this one will fit in the backseat of my 07 stang convertible lol
That’s a good looking rig to I’ll also have their Baja terminator which is the knot wad version of this truck with a 36 mL motor for the money that thing is an absolute beast
I almost bought one... no way it will fit in the backseat of my 2009 SC430 lol... it would have to go into the trunk. These Max trucks are going to 1100 plus on ebay, but the ability to make an offer is showing. I was going to get the buggy or Terminator truck, and buy the kit with the super long control arms, shocks and everything else needed its a little over 300 and then the symmetrical steering kit needs to be purchased to make it work, and the very large tires the Max comes with will be needed as well. While this update works on the Bajas, the chassis is more narrow than the truck, so the truck may be a better starting point for the conversion and it can be done in steps if you dont want to drop 1100 on one. I have heard mixed things about the 45cc engine, and that 36cc double ring is more durable even though it robs power from the engine due to the double piston ring setup. Rovan also has a 70cc kit or something like that for $500 or so, its pretty ballsy since they are putting out 8+ hp or so while stock, , and with a little work it could likely put out a lot more. These larger engines are also used on engine installation kits for mountain bikes and can carry a 200lb person to 35-40mph, so it should be able to make this Rovan or KM cars move very well. Daves discount motors, and OBR has some smaller 36 and 42cc engines that are zenoah based I heard, and they put out easily 7-10hp. There are supercharger along with reed conversion, and cold air filter scoop for the engine as well. I am not sure how the supercharger would work on this since its 2 stroke, but its likely to add power still but more of a novelty, especially if you run the 2 or 3 speed transmission, and decide to go all out with a nitrous setup lol. The OBR Twin engine is like 2k if you can even get a hold of it.. There are other engines from Alex engines I believe based out of Italy, and they are also supposed to be very good engines. This time I went with a 1/8 Ofna/Hobao Hyper7 RTR buggy older modem, and getting the 2 speed kit with a modified LRP .32 engine - stock they put out almost 4.5hp, but modified its a huge difference and likely 5+ hp. I am going to get the powertrain exactly how I like it, and then customize it and turn it into a truggy using the needed newest spec Hobao SST truggy parts for it to be completely custom and up to date with the other current cars they sell. Apparently a 2 speed trans is rare in a truggy, but I am not racing in competition, and mainly bashing around and want something with a good powerful take off, and the second gear for the high top end. Apparently they sell different smaller spur gears and clutch bell with more teeth I can modify the 2 speed with. With the modified LRP, I am expecting it likely to hit 60mph or more, since a stock LRP .32 engine in a Losi 8ight truggy was hitting just over 50mph with no gearing modifications, and the video is on youtube. Next time Ill be going for the 1/5 terminator truck, or possibly go all out and get the Max later this year, if I can manage to get back into another gainful job, although thats not looking very likely unfortunately and will likely be like this until 2023, assuming things dont completely crash this time around. Its inevitable, and we are getting closer and closer to the shit really hitting the fan hard!

Quick question Still kicking Around which one to buy Got a preference Two-wheel? Or four-wheel? Which one is better Cost maintenance Breakdowns Replacement parts cost Pros and cons if you have time it will be appreciated
Well four-wheel is always going to be more parts and more breakage points but you were always going to get better traction and better handling. Me personally I kind a like the 2 Wheel Dr. I guess I’m old-school like that these Baja trucks have always been a 2 Wheel Dr. in the traditional sense so I guess I’ve just always like the 2 Wheel Dr.
Hey bro I'm new to your channel and I found alot of good info from you on the baja max 5t I'm planning on getting one soon as they are back in stock I'm currently on rovan waiting list and if there's anything else you can share as far as installing the fail safe and any wrench work etc I would be very appreciative thanks bro keep the videos coming
amir newson installing a kill switch on these is not terribly hard I have one on my standard Baja I have yet to install one on the max. The only thing I will tell you on these trucks is basically disassemble it and Loctite everything purple Loctite is great for this or even blue. Make sure you have a good quality oil I run my mixture at 32 to 1 after breaking that is 4 ounces of oil per gallon of gas also make sure you check your throttle and brake linkage assembly there are some good videos on RUclips about how to do this my first Baja the first time I fired it up it almost took off on me because the throttle ended up sticking. The O’Neill Brothers racing channel has some great videos on this is how I learned to do mine. Also definitely take some time in your transmitter and sit your end points and everything correctly it will definitely help you’re turning ability I had to set the end points on my throttle and my break I think I ended up with 76% throttle and 62% break but your mileage may vary. If you need anything or have any questions just let me know
Great video I just brought my first 1/5 scale Baja now I really want this one it crazy to think the wheels are twice the width new subscriber from Australia and any thoughts on the Rovan 1/5 on road vehicle
Large Scale Life I like dealing with Petrol rc cars don’t really know much about the electronics side off things thanks for the reply can’t wait to see if you get an on road car
Yes there’s some videos out there with people that are taking these and putting the TMR engines in them like the read induction ones and gotten much more power out of them
I think it was one and a half and 1 1/4 is where I started if you look up a RUclips channel for the Olen brothers racing that makes the really nice engines for these he has a great carburetor tuning video I used his method started there and then made micro adjustments
Hey brother I just received my rovan baja max 5t and I'm having a problem with the right tire rubbing against the tie rod what can I do to fix that thanks in advance
So my tires are really close to mine they will only rub if I make them rub however if yours is rubbing all the time send them an email I know a couple of people had this problem they will probably send you out a set of quarter inch hub extensions to push the tires out a little bit
Here is a link to the exact truck it is currently on back order. You can also look at their updated version that is black and green. I also own their 36 mL terminator Baja truck it is an awesome way to get into 1/5 scale and not break the bank and parts are a little cheaper than the widebody one shown in this video let me know if you need any help. www.rovanrc.com/product-rv450maxbr
I’m not sure of the grade of screws but they do seem to be very good quality the only issue I have had is a few screws trying to back out but that is because I neglected to Loctite them this truck has a lot of metal on it so you really need to be diligent about going through and walked Harding all metal on metal parts other than that it’s greatNaderS Sedagt
NaderS Sedagt it has good amount of power the motor is very strong the pipe is OK but it could definitely stand a true tune pipe I know there are a few coming out for it soon. Haven’t broken any parts I did lose a couple of screws that backed out but that was totally my fault for not using Loctite other than that it is been super solid
Bryce Mcduffie I have actually looked at those they look really nice definitely on my shortlist for sure if I could just quit buying parts for my xmaxx Project I might actually be able to

Nice vid, nice energy! I love my Max T you gotta get the TMR pipe I tested for this beast! Its a serious ripper!! 🤝 congrats on that brother! You gotta sub from me brother!!
EastSide RC yeah definitely need to put a pipe on this one I actually tried one of their silence pipes on it just to keep the neighbors a little happy and it had so much back pressure it kept loosening the bolts so I ditch that after like two runs put the stock pipe back on it’s so much more power I can only imagine what this thing will do with an actual legit pipe on it seriously going to have to get one this thing is awesome not gonna lie I kind of baby it because I don’t wanna break anything and then I just take my xmaxx Out and beat on it I also have the standard Baja terminator five tea that’s a fun truck I think it needs a little water tires maybe some wheel extensions to give it a little more stability the only thing I have left to do to the max is possibly change the oil read in the sharks it’s a little bouncy right now think there might be some air in my suspension
Large Scale Life yessir I run diff oil in my shocks works perfectly! 1000 in the front and 1000 in the rear!I also installed hot racing xmaxx springs the red ones up front what a difference!! amir newson installing a kill switch on these is not terribly hard I have one on my standard Baja I have yet to install one on the max. If you need anything or have any questions just let me know
@@LargeeeScaleLife thanks bro I really appreciate it now just waiting for rovan to restock them
Might get one and put a max 5 in it. My country is hostile to engines.
I think one of these with an 800 KV motor will be pretty mean
awesome, this one looks good.
i just bought one, do u know what is lifespan of gas engine???
Great video I just brought my first 1/5 scale Baja now I really want this one it crazy to think the wheels are twice the width new subscriber from Australia and any thoughts on the Rovan 1/5 on road vehicle
I don’t know much about the on road version I’ve really wanted one actually thought about getting their electric roller
Large Scale Life I like dealing with Petrol rc cars don’t really know much about the electronics side off things thanks for the reply can’t wait to see if you get an on road car
Large Scale Life can we please have an update on the Rovan monster truck
Very nice.. are these able to be modified? Modified motors etc. To double the speed.
Yes there’s some videos out there with people that are taking these and putting the TMR engines in them like the read induction ones and gotten much more power out of them
@@LargeeeScaleLife awesome..thank u
Just subed
que maquina !!! Show
Is this run by the gasoline from the gas station?
I need one...😎
It’s a ton of fun unfortunately I’m thinking about selling it I honestly just don’t have room to run it where I’m at
awsome
Alright mate can you tell me how much turns are each screw on your carb please as the manual is in Chinese and I can't read it
I think it was one and a half and 1 1/4 is where I started if you look up a RUclips channel for the Olen brothers racing that makes the really nice engines for these he has a great carburetor tuning video I used his method started there and then made micro adjustments
@@LargeeeScaleLife I sorted it out now thanks mate appreciate it 👍
Hey brother I just received my rovan baja max 5t and I'm having a problem with the right tire rubbing against the tie rod what can I do to fix that thanks in advance
So my tires are really close to mine they will only rub if I make them rub however if yours is rubbing all the time send them an email I know a couple of people had this problem they will probably send you out a set of quarter inch hub extensions to push the tires out a little bit
I haven’t had a problem with mine rubbing or anything but I’m actually going to do this on mine anyway
@@LargeeeScaleLife thank you brother stay safe and looking forward to your next video 📹
can u put bigger motors on it?
Hey, I really would like to buy one.... the exact one. please guide me
Here is a link to the exact truck it is currently on back order.
Were are these made in the usa??
Any problems with this car since you owned it? How are the screws? Are they 12.9 grade?
I’m not sure of the grade of screws but they do seem to be very good quality the only issue I have had is a few screws trying to back out but that is because I neglected to Loctite them this truck has a lot of metal on it so you really need to be diligent about going through and walked Harding all metal on metal parts other than that it’s greatNaderS Sedagt
@@LargeeeScaleLife have you had any troubles with parts braking? How is the motor?
NaderS Sedagt it has good amount of power the motor is very strong the pipe is OK but it could definitely stand a true tune pipe I know there are a few coming out for it soon. Haven’t broken any parts I did lose a couple of screws that backed out but that was totally my fault for not using Loctite other than that it is been super solid
If haven't yet get axis rc stand best out there
Bryce Mcduffie I have actually looked at those they look really nice definitely on my shortlist for sure if I could just quit buying parts for my xmaxx Project I might actually be able to
Bryce Mcduffie I have actually looked at those they look really nice definitely on my shortlist for sure if I could just quit buying parts for my xmaxx
Hi where did you order from is this the one from alibaba ??
Got this directly from rovan Website shipped out of New York State
Anyone know where to find parts for my Rovan BM5 29cc truck. tyvm in advance
It takes the suspension from a pogo stick to nice n plush. I got vid on it you can see the demonstration. Also you baby it huh well its yours to baby brother! These things aren’t cheap! In the mean time you can watch me beat on mine 🤣! Its hands down the funnest baja I have ever owned! And that rear pipe I have is an absolute Gem! Allen really did his art work on that! It delivers power all the way through the power band incredibly!! And you be you and do what you please with your RCs they are yours! I baby my monster tuck🤣! I will run it eventually and I have two shelf queens so I have no room to criticize you 🤣😂! This is your channel brother enjoy it! I love making videos! And Ive made some really good friends that are brothers to me!! Keep on brappin!
Where u from bro ? You make beats I see the wax on the back wall

Add an hda 223 walbro carb
which model is this sir can 5b?
It’s based off of a Baja 5T at its base but it is very highly upgraded out of the box almost any Baja parts will fit it except it obviously doesn’t use stock suspension arms or driveshaft and most of the suspension parts are water and upgraded as well as the steering is upgraded to the symmetrical set up
😨😨😱
That Truck is Badass !!!
Let’s Do somthing R/C yeah it really is even with the stock park once it gets in the power it is hard to keep the front wheels down
Gg
Why Rovan did't increase a wheelbase ?? This think its only wider , and thats why Its look completely ridiculous... All those dimmensions in this RC do not mach each other .Its a stupid idea to create somethink like that .
I spy some crates of Russian surplus ammo lol
