Just bought mine and all I can say the car has a lot of power but some parts will needs to be replaced very soon. The drive shaft pins broke on me literally the second day I used it . Rovan sent me brand new pins and drive shafts with better quality than the original ones tho . Also one thing you most do is putting blue lock tie on all the bolts especially the (exhaust bolts) and tighten them into place ( if you don’t do it things will come apart and you will lose some parts) don’t ask me how I know. Retighten the wheel nuts every time you use the car, if you don’t you’ll lose the wheel nuts
I highly recommend these . Had mine a while and with the right maintenance they run sweetly . I've got the 36cc one and it wheelies for fun . Great video man really enjoyed it 👍

I want to buy one but idk what I should buy ... I keep getting all different answers, some say Rivans aren't made as food and to get the KING MOTOR ...so I went on there website to buy one but there out of stock a N d I had to join a waiting list ..... some people say get the HPI if you have themoney for a $1000 or a used one on ebay for about $700 ..... AND JUST SPENT $100 ON NEW SPUR AND PINON GEAR AND METAL SERVO GEARS CAUSE THEY ALL JUST WENT AT ONCE !!!
Rovan keeps improving them to a point it no longer makes sense to look for an hpi, (this is not the case with their LT trucks, Losi is still much better) They are already shipping the 2021 version of this same buggy in banggood and aliexpress, with better radio, servos and receiver. I have been using the Baja for 2 years already and nothing has broken, really crazy, probably about 40 tanks in.
I broke mine in with and continue to use trufuel 50:1 Rarely adjust the carb. Run the piss out of it. My only trouble was the o-ring in diff blew out, drained the oil and cooked the gears. There is a quick change gearbox on market available that was easy to install. Awesome buggy, it is definitely an attention getter!
It calls for 25:1. That's all we been using. Hate to hear about the diff and gearbox. We love the buggy and it definitely gets attention! Also, welcome to the fam!

Nice shirt. Save the manuals indeed. In your video you said you didn't realize it came with a tuned pipe yet you bought the add on guard to protect it? Lol Cant beat that for the money. Even currently they are $469.
I recommend using good quality 2 stroke oil for this bad quality oil will foul your spark plog in no time , I use motul 800 2t oil so far works super good
I've just seen one called King motor 001 same price slightly nicer wheels n tyre's but that's not an issue really is it a clone of the Rovan now then? Lol
We have HPI Rovan and a King Motors, the KM shipped from same place as the Rovan did. I think there might be slight differences in the parts like the wheels but pretty much the same. My KM was a roller, no motor or radio.
Hello i don’t think you need to do heat cycles etc,I would on a nitro engine, these gas engines are pretty much good to go out the box I would just go about upto 70% throttle on the first tank then she’s good

Hello I just purchased the 1/5 scale rovan Baja. When I plug the charger in, the light is blinking red, I wanted to know if this is normal as it's my first charge and couldn't find info online
I honestly don't use the stock charger. I use 4 bank charger. I would assume that a blinking light means it's charging and it should turn solid when charged.
@@BMPowered If you have a moment could you possibly plug in your crappy stock charger and let me know if yours does the same thing? I would really appreciate it
@@BMPowered That site is a known scam. Many large scale folks have been taken by them and have had to dispute the charges after no product and no communication. I would also warn anyone to be very wary of other sites offering original Baja SS kits. They've been discontinued for years now, and are considered unicorns to many in the large scale world. The last HPI models offered were the Tsk-B and they've been sold out for a very long time. There is hope that the new owner of HPI might put the Baja back in production, but until then, be extremely cautious of any retailer offering NIB HPI Bajas. Only trust reputable retailers like Dave's Discount Motors when it comes to genuine HPI model kits.
Actually the company that makes rovan in china is rofun and the made these in china before hpi! Hpi bought the rights to make and sell them here and then rofun started selling them here under rovan and king motor so hpi is actually the clone!
Actually once HPI went out of business and their patents expired they started being sold as other things. Thats why the parts are identical for the most part.

50:1 is not enough oil. Better running more oil than less. Engine will last longer.

Ok, I'll get a feeler gauge in the morning and check it , thanks

Baja componets will fit on this one?
Yes, they will. The Rovan is a clone and 99% of parts fit perfect.
Is it the same as the hpi Baja 5b
Pretty much. Stay tuned for a comparison video.
so you just let it idle for two full tanks? how long did that take?
Nah, usually 45 min or so. Then just run at varying throttle, but no more than 50% for a other tank. Then let her rip.
