@braxbarrett4398 thanks for the info man. I might get back into porting in the future but we have outsourced all the work from this year. Been working great. The guy who ports for us does check port timings and don't push it too far. We also don't lighten the pistons anymore. Lots of work for possibly no gains. Perhaps we will do a before and after video on our G320
@@EZR thatd be awsome it seems like the zonahah 32cc and clone engines perform really well. I've got a 32cc china clone in my 5t. With a cheap pipe. I bought it that way recently. Guy I race with has a zanoah 32cc with nice pipe on his 5t. It screams pretty hard. Can hear it get up on the pipe when he hits the straight aways. I also have a rovan 45lt. It has goods of tq but signs off really early. I think a pipe would really wake it up. There's just a few of us trying to start a 5th scale class. The tires and body are what's pricey on the 5t rest isn't really that bad. Have another guy who's come out a few times with a taylor reed case engine but idk if it's huge advantage after watching the stock piped zanoah run. Diffinatly more power but only so much room on a track to use it. We're setup at 16ft wide lanes. I wonder how a piston port engine would run with the reeds that bolt on in between the carb and intake if piston was windowed to allow it to flow through piston on up stroke? You ever seen or messed with them? I know dirtbikes for long time ran reed valves that way the they started aiming the intake charge towards crankcase or just went to case induction all together. I just like to tinker and it'd be cool to build a reed induction engine cheap and it perform well. They want 70 bucks for that reed setup. Seen you can buy a crankcase that converts a 32cc zanoah for like 320 bucks. Suck to waste 70 bucks and time just to gain nothing and time trying to tune it. Obviously the reed case setups make great power so the 320 bucks would be a diffinate gain.
@@braxbarrett4398 I have also ran alongside some reeds and personally piston port is boss. The Reed costs more and has more maintenence. Not worth the extra money. In my opinion the best piston port engine is the Zen 36mm. Lighter, cheaper and more than enough power to pull any 5th scale.
hello, congratulations on the video. I recently bought a model with an engine similar to this one (MK T2000 4WD), but the engine does not work. I touched the candle, removed the filter, put gasoline (500ml gasoline x 20 ml oil 2 stroke), but it didn't work. Please can you help me ?
Hello, thanks for reaching out! #1 is ring & sleeve. If those are badly worn nothing will happen. Our first check is Coil gap and Spark plug. I do think we need to do a video on this. Hope to get to it soon. If you reset your coil gap and changed the plug with no joy then you need to check if the carb is actually fueling the motor. With the filter off - Is the inside of the carb actually getting wet when you choke it? If it is - the piston ring is your next check. You will see the problem sure enough with these checks.

Hi mate I'm having trouble with my engine you know where the clutch plate bolts onto the crankshaft its supposed to be a friction fit and a retaining bolt in the centre but my engine is just spinning inside the clutch plate no matter how tight I put it hope this makes sense hope you can help
Makes sense, thanks for the Q. We have this with our high torque motors and what I do when assembling is place 2 drops of lock tight on the shaft before fitting the clutch mount. You must also note that the clutch mount is a very soft metal and can be misshaped, hence it not gripping and replacing it might be the best fix. Overall a cheap fix but can be so frustrating.
Dremel Tungsten Carbide 3.2mm. Round tip(not ball end) is by far my favorite but we can't get them anymore. So I use the cone shape and straight flat head. Must have those fine lines and I dip the tips in wax every couple of seconds to prevent the metal to stick in the grooves too much.
@@EZR that explains why I can’t find the spec sheet anywhere. I’m attempting my first build in the 1/5 scale scene. Turning my 30.4cc (30cc) redcat rampage xt into a 32cc. @@mrskunk697 @Mr Skunk the 45cc is a tricky one yes, especially in non Baja/Losi's. Just note that a 30cc to 32cc rebuild is a complete core swop out. Howzit bud. There are different opinions. Feel free to check out our video on full break in too. Ill give you three opinions. #1 Text Book Procedure(what I would do with a customers car): Idle motor for 20min and cool to the touch x3; run the next 30min on no more than half throttle; 2nd tank possible to give full throttle bursts but dont over do it; 3rd tank change plug and start tuning for peak performance. #2 My procedure(ON MY OWN MOTORS ONLY): Idle motor for 20min. Cool down completely cold. Check cylinder and exhaust bolts and then let the motor have it. Full throttle, peak tuning, take it to race day etc.... #3 Break in doesn't matter. 2stroke motors are very strong and as long as you use proper fully synthetic 2T oil at the right ratio you have no worries.
@@EZR are you familiar with the idea or theory that a slow break in actually isn't the best way to extract max power from a ringed 2 stroke engine?(not nitro pinch type engine) Its based around the theory(well actually proof) that u got about 20m of runtime before that fresh abrasive cross hatch pattern starts to become smoother and if you don't use that initial abrasion to seat the rings quickly with varying medium throttle aggression and rpm that you sacrifice compression and power for the "safe break in" method. Everything will still run just fine the "normal" way, just what ur giving up in long term hrs before rebuild and max power. You know the old saying break it in how you want it to run from the muscle car days? Well there's a whole lotta truth to it. There's an excellent website from a former pro racing team dirt bike mechanic that's recorded his findings over 20yrs showing the difference in engines broken in like this vs the "manufacturers way"(the break-in for dummies way lol). It is super interesting! And the results are hard to ignore when they are staring you in the face persay lol.
So good explain, everybody can understand the basic. I've done this on a 23,29cc(without transfer plates) amd the results were incredible. Many thanks. Check up on my channel. More to come.

Idk about lightening the piston ive never done that or seen it before i hsve opened ports in pistons before no balance issues bit me in the butt. Im going to look into lightning piston. I know in dirtbikes pisons explode so im not sure if thats a good idea but these pistons are way lighter than a dirtbike. Good video good content. Like that buggy. I got a 5t but dam its heavy think a baja 5 would rip with weight difference
Do YOU offer this to the public?
OR sell an entire engine already done?
We do sell these and have started with the new 34cc that has more torque. Still a bit of a struggle to get the stuff exported though.
hello, congratulations on the video.
@@EZR thank you very much for taking the time to answer my questions. I live in Japan, and there is not so much information about this here. I will do what you told me. thanks
you had no issues using regular gaskets instead of teflon ones? and also what carb you using?
Performance Rc telling n gaskets when over tightened. Deform then leak
Most guys won’t use them for that reason. Using regular gaskets. Cleaning mating area. Works just fine bro
Use 990. 997 or 1107 walbro carb
668 carb is used up to 30cc
Well stock Rovna gaskets are good for one time use. Best carb is the 813/990 Walbro
.. From Italy, you're a great mechanic, but After this the affidability Is the Same??..
Hello. Thank you.
Do you mean is the reliability the same or if the cost is the same? 🙂
What you put on pipe in last video? Like muffler.. Diy?
Hello Saya Yo, it is rubber heat resistant deflector. It's a stock item we sell.
I have the 45cc Rovan buggy can I send it to you for you to port
Howzit Eric.
We can do that, but will you be able to arrange shipping both ways? Will make it way easier
The big question is what's the price on a full porting job if I buy the motor from you.
Good Day. We are based in South African and currently offer a full port on a 32/34/36/45 @ $90/ZAR1500
We are looking at exporting in the near future.
Can I send you my motor and you port it completely and I want a 32cc head on it?
@@EZR hey man, how much to port a gp 460 motor for a goped ?
@@reptile0074 our porting costs $80 for a cylinder full mod. But our hurdle is the shipping. Still trying to jump that one.
@@EZR thankyou for the reply mate I've ordered a new vented billet alloy one and I'll add a bit of lock tight on assembly thank you again
What are you using for the cutting?
Dremel Tungsten Carbide 3.2mm. Round tip(not ball end) is by far my favorite but we can't get them anymore. So I use the cone shape and straight flat head. Must have those fine lines and I dip the tips in wax every couple of seconds to prevent the metal to stick in the grooves too much.
Hi sir help me plz , how i open hpi baja engine case side black color plastick cover/ruber ? Plz help me sir !
Sorry man. Will get some more tutorials out there soon
What is the vest carburetor for hpi Baja 45cc
Walbro 990 or 1107
nice work done!
Which carb are you using ?
We running Walbro 813 Chokeless. Love this carb.
So there is no need to torque the bolts of this engine??
Some would disagree, but I say no. Just tight enough to keep the bolts in. The case 8s made from pot metal so you can strip the thread too.
@@EZR that explains why I can’t find the spec sheet anywhere. I’m attempting my first build in the 1/5 scale scene. Turning my 30.4cc (30cc) redcat rampage xt into a 32cc. I also have a 45cc but can’t find a pipe that will work with that motor and work with my platform. Probably gonna end up ripping a 45cc header off and adapting it to another pipe. Thanks for the info
@@mrskunk697 @Mr Skunk the 45cc is a tricky one yes, especially in non Baja/Losi's. Just note that a 30cc to 32cc rebuild is a complete core swop out. You cannot use the same Cylinder, Crank Case, Piston, Crank. Everything else should fit. Chat to RC Dungeon about your 45cc. He might have already found a solution to the problem.
@@EZR yep I got the new case, crank, cylinder, piston and everything else needed coming. Just need to swap flywheel then the outter case’s. Weirdly this truck came with a tuned 32cc exhaust on a 30cc not sure if that really matter but might be the reason it blew. Previous owner ran it lean also piston looks brand new except for the gouges that the wrist pin bearing caused
How do u do the break in procedures after a new rebuilt motor?
@@EZR are you familiar with the idea or theory that a slow break in actually isn't the best way to extract max power from a ringed 2 stroke engine?(not nitro pinch type engine)
Its based around the theory(well actually proof) that u got about 20m of runtime before that fresh abrasive cross hatch pattern starts to become smoother and if you don't use that initial abrasion to seat the rings quickly with varying medium throttle aggression and rpm that you sacrifice compression and power for the "safe break in" method.
Yes, our new way is more fun friendly. 5min on the bench and then give it stick
Very nice work bruh where are you located?
Thanks bud, I'm in sunny South Africa, Gauteng.
@@EZR wow way too far away nice work though
Bro can u make vid porting brush cutter engine 30cc?
Hello Man Tebik, Unfortunately we don't have one of those motors, but might do a vid on a RC 30.5cc Motor in the near future.
@@EZR nice
What do you charge to mod?
Howzit. Currently only servicing Southern Africa but we charge about $70 for porting and shipping to and fro.
Make a third transfer on the intake and put a reed valve on it
How do I make a 3rd transfer
That is so easy to stuff up if you cut wrong. We'll leave it to the pros.
HOW MUCH WILL YOU CHARGE ME TO PISTON PORT MY 36 CC TWO STROKE ENGINE ? DO YOU HAVE A WAY I CAN CONTACT YOU ABOUT SOME WORK I NEED DONEN
Hope to do some international stuff soon. We charge $80 for a piston port.

Yup. Doesn't work on all motors but ups the revs on the Rovan 32 head that gets dropped. If you not gonna drop the head. Don't cut the piston crown.
