This video was a great tutorial but i really need the "how to install apps" vidoe
+SebasXPC It's really Easy! Just sideload those APK files of the Apps on the Raspi via ADB Fast boot. Just enter this command "adb connect [IP Address of Raspi ] " and then "adb sideload [location of APK file in windows]" That's it the App will be installed on it ! ☺️

Android TV works pretty fine. There are its own limitations and advantages.
There is no default phonecast option. Is there a tutorial for that ?

there is not point of using android tv on raspberry pi because its pretty much unusable. the frame rate drops and you just cant watch videos on it. so whats the point.

What kind of power supply do you need to run this? I've got a 2.5 amp, 5 volt power supply, and I still get the rainbow square screen.
+Twisted Puppet I use a simple micro USB mobile charger that gives 5V 2A. Just try to change your charger.
So, I tried changing the charger out. Turns out I needed to change the ISO instead. Through a lot of digging, I found one that works on my Pi. However, your video was very helpful with the steps I needed to take in order to load further ISOs onto the Pi. Thanks for answering my question so quickly!

I have an 50" LG smart tv model#50LB5800 ..
I wanna change the operating system on it so I can do more with it...this smart tv only allows you to install apps from a list of available one's lg offers u cant search and download ur own...if I use the tv internet browser to log into crave tv it lets me do that but when I try to play something it says it's not supported with my browser...it's some type of webOS system on the tv now is it possible to delete all that and run some type of android os.. or any other o.s that I can download my own apps from this LG smart tv I have now is the stupidest smart tv iv ever seen

can you boot an android image in a virtual machine ? NO MOUSE ! Did you try it on the microUSB beside the power input. Maybe it doesn't support it on from the on board BUS and will from the micro USB with an OTG hub or cable, because its supported on a phone why not on a PI. Or maybe get a logitech keyboard with the onboard trackpad idk. Good job tho

Thanks ! For a better performance you need a class 10 sd card. You can still try with class 4, 6 sd cards but the speed will be low.

I installed OS, but when I connect to my old SDTV using composit cable it shows nothing after rainbow screen. I have used SDTV as monitor for Raspbian and Libre Elec OS , does this android image support composite outpur ??

Try reinstalling the OS. And use a high speed memory card. This should work.

I did it all correct, but it is not showing nothing on screen
I have flashed android TV Os in micro SD Card and when i attached the raspberry pi 3 b+ with HDMI cable it flashes only screen with colors in Monitor but not getting the exact output of OS specific menu like settings, WI-Fi . So can i use monitor screen instead of Simple TV? If yes, then how can i get an exact output as shown in your video?

This might be the problem of Power Supply. Try to change your power supply to 5V 2Amps and let me know the result.

prateek parab If you want to Dual boot then you'll have to do a lot of operations in your SD card and it's not guaranteed that this OS will run smoothly. So I prefer to mono Boot this OS and you can keep another SD card for other OS.

How to solve GPU lags?
It looks like awesome, but its not you will struggle to install apps and using them on this android tv, most of apps will come in horizontal layout, which you cannot turn around, secondly you will not be able to perform click properly on many apps. Anyway great tutorial.
Dude i have cloudwalker 32 inch tv it has a android 4.4.2 1GB ram and 4GB storage but the UI is not good so can install this Android OS in that?
Rahul Vishwakarma It's already on the android os. If you want the change the UI then you can install themes on it via play store. Some themes fit really cool on Android tv

Yeah, I'm just getting the rainbow screen running it on a 3B+.
If you using a RPi 3 B+, it may just be out of date firmware you need to use newer image with the right firmware such as the offical Raspbian image - older and derivative images may still need to be updated

I downloaded the "atvrpi320160530.img.bz2" from the link you provided. I had to remove the "bz2" extension from the file or the diskimager wouldn't recognize it. Unfortunately it does not boot. Any suggestions?
+G Cota After you download the File you'll have to extract it with winrar or WinZip software. After the extraction is complete you'll get the Actual .img file which you can flash on the sdcard with win32 disk imager.

+G Cota I haven't made a video on side loading apps but its very easy. Just use minimal adb and fastboot. After installing that type "adb connect [IP of raspberry pi]" and then "adb sideload [location of the apk on the computer]" After this the app will be installed. !

+Anirudh Kundu I have not seen screening from android device to raspi but you can try PiCast. It's an add on in rasbian OS through which you can cast your PC screen.
