Just a heads up when you do transfer from Go to Home you get a mystery gift in Home which is a Melmetal that can Gigantamax
@@perfecttalkz4259 so Gigantamax is like a new form Pokemon in Sword and Shield can take during certain battle or during raid battles, they grow giant and stronger, while just about any pokemon can Dynamax making them big, certain ones can Gigantamax which means they get big and also take on a new form like Pikachu gets fat like its 1990s version but with a long tail, Charizard has flame wings and new markings, things like that

I'm excited that we can finally get the boxes! I'm so close to getting to evolve meltan. I've been slowly giving it every rare candy I pick up. Being a rural player is rough.
I initially got hyped that I could use Home's trade features to find regionals but then realised they wouldn't move from Home to Go 😭

I would suggest opening meltan box during the spotlight hour on 17th November coz during that time you will have 2x catch candy and if you catch each and every meltan with pinap berry you'll have 360 candies and you can easily evolve one by using few rare candies.😃😃

@@Nyandere_the_Bakeneko 100% pokemon will have 31 in all IVs except speed. How it works: your iv in GO is changed to x2 and +1. so 15 becomes 31. There is no speed stat in GO so speed when transferred is random.

This really helps thank you I just transferred some duplicates that I couldn’t remove from Pokémon go since I made them buddy’s so now that I have Pokémon home it works and I can put some of my Pokémon in Pokémon home to my switch. I really doubt it... but for competitive purpose, you can get the new ability patch item to unlock it.

Can you talk more about the mystery boxes? Is there a limit to how many you get? It could be a great way to farm Meltan candies if you can get the boxes regularly.

You get a box once every 3 days but have to trade again to unlock the box
So I read the update the PokemonGoLive website had back in September (September 29th to be exact) on this, and it said "When this integration goes live, limited-time events will be happening in Pokemon Go, featuring particular Pokemon. You will be able to activate the Mystery Box after you send a Pokemon to Pokemon Home from Pokemon Go, and if you open the Mystery Box during the celebration event, you'll have a chance of encountering a Shiny Meltan!"
So it looks like we will be getting another chance for Shiny Meltan, but they also didn't specify when the celebration event is happening. I know Animation Week is currently happening, so hopefully we'll get more news soon! :)

I transferred a Genesect from Go to Home, and couldn't transfer it to SwSh because I had never had one in my save file before. Someone was willing to trade me one in SwSh, and I traded it back immediately. Afterwards, I still couldn't move my Genesect (that came from Go) out of Home. Is there a reason that didn't work - do I need to have a Genesect in my save file when I transfer a Genesect from Go out of Home for the first time? I was really expecting the temporary trade to work.

I hate to break it to you, but not every Pokémon appears in sword and shield, I’m pretty sure genesect is one of the ones that isn’t in the game.
@@sourlemon1002 genesect can be transferred to sword and shield. You have to have mythics in sword and shield from an event before you can transfer the mythics from go.
@@sourlemon1002 Genesect surprisingly is in the game! You can't catch it in the max lair or anything, but it's included similar to how you could immediately transfer in some legendaries like Mewtwo, even before the Isle of Armor was released (this was able to happen as soon as Home was released). Once Crown Tundra was dropped, Genesect could be transferred in via Home.
So I tried putting a Genesect from GO to Gen 8 and it said the following: “The selected Pokémon brought over from Pokémon GO has not been obtained in this save file. The Pokémon cannot be withdrawn. What does that mean and what do I have to do to transfer it over?

Hey I just figured it out and got my special Meltan!! ALSO, I read on the Pogo site that sometime soon shiny Meltan will be available soon with a new special event so hold onto your special boxes I just got mine and have to be patient. Maybe that event will coincide with the 28th special research

Because they don't want to immediately release it for everyone. As with every other big update they give it to level 40 first so that it will be tested, then it trickles down to the rest of players. Usually it only takes a few days.
So that you spend more $$ to become lvl 40!

Finally I am one of the level 40s.
I was able to put my shiny Genesect into home but it won't let me put it into sword because "it has not been obtained in this save file save. The pokemon can not be withdrawn" what's this all about. On the phone home app it says its available for sword and shield
It’s because it’s not registered in your Pokédex yet. They don’t want people to be able to fill out their dex by transferring from GO.

I'm level 16. I only ever played Go for Meltan and Melmetal anyway. I have no interest in grinding for ages to get to level 40. They better lower the level requirement otherwise I and many others will literally never get that G-max Melmetal.

yeee freaking great. I can get a bunch of legendaries and shinies in just for the dex so I can leave my beautiful shinies and sprites in their own games. Love it. EDIT: not liking the week cooldown and price though. I wasn't going to use it as supplemental storage or anything but is this really necessary? is it purely a cash grab or is it some kind of concern about the influx of shinies and/or legendaries, or some sort of server traffic thing? I get that Niantic doesn't see any of the Home subscription, so I don't mind their usual free-but-monetized thing...but that's a bit steep and the alternative is quite a long time. oh well, it's cool I guess. ain't urgent or anything.
to be fair, when ultra sun/ultra moon released some pokemon with a shiny chance of 1:4096, people said that it "ruined" the shiny economy for those pokemon, so it would probably be too OP to be able to instantly transfer all the shiny pokemon from pokemon go, which has a base rate of 1:500

Strider Barnes it is infinite. People can use bots to easily find the Frame the shiny is on and set the switch time back if it gets too close to midnight. Plus even if it passes midnight if the game is completely closed the den won’t go away. It being an intended feature has nothing to do with it being infinite as well lol

I'm so excited! I had prepared myself for the disappointment when they would make mythicals transfer-locked. But they didn't! I can finally get shiny Deoxys and Genesect in MSG! The long time/huge cost between important transfers doesn't bother me that much. At least the option is there now and I completely understand the reason behind the system (Gamefreak doesn't want huge flood of Go shinies and legendaries to main series games and Niantic doesn't want people to dump their whole collection to Home at once and quit GO). Sure, it can be really slow, if you have hundreds of shinies you wanted to transfer. But let's be real. Why do you want to transfer them? It's not like shinies, especially Go shinies have much trade value anyway anymore. And if you want to use them in your team or add them to your collection, you only need one. Sure, I also thought I could transfer ~40 shiny seedot and then wonder trade them forward and maybe make at least someone happy, but that's not a huge loss.
Only thing that sucks is you have to have the Legendary pokemon already registered in your Pokedex on Sword or Shield or u cant transfer it in. Wasted all my energy Transferring over a bunch of Legendaries and I cant Transfer any of them until I catch them in game?! How does that make sense, or is it because I dont own the dlc's? Their reasons for not wanting so many GO shinies in Sw/Sh are just an excuse for wanting to get money out of the players. There are already so many shinies in Sw/Sh that no one would notice the new ones.
@@Aaron-hv4hr no, that's really not the case. Funny enough, but if they wanted more money, it would be a lot cheaper to recharge. 1000 coins is so expensive no one is going to buy it. Almost 10 dollars for each additional transfer? No. If it was 100 or even 200 coins I could see someone doing it now and then or even buying some coins to do a bunch of transfer in one go. But I can't believe no one is impatient enough to pay that much.

Even more important than the chance to get mistery boxes without Let's Go, is that you can actually get this box without even having a N. Switch.
It didn't let you transfer more than 27 Pokemon because the free box in Pokemon Home has a limit of 30 Pokemon

Honestly a nice feature to the game. Sucks to need to be able to be lvl 40(although it makes it balanced)
you did foreget to mention you cant transfer in legendaries that have no pokemon data in sword and shield
