6:45 there actually was a way to check IV back in 2016. Each team leader would have a special dialogue explaining how strong each of the three IVs were and at the end would exclaim something like “it’s the greatest I’ve ever seen” for the coveted 100%.
Actually, the appraisal dialogue wasn’t there when Pokemon GO released, it was added few months after, then in 2019 they added the stars, but you could still check IV’s even without any appraisal dialogue with apps that calculated IVs using the Pokémon stats and your trainer level.

Eevee name trick is wasted on lvl 42. Save your name trick for shiny OG trio. The rest of the Eevee's have conditions to get their evolutions, so you can easily plan those. Not those three. Besides, you'll be stuck in lvl 42 for a while, more than enough time to get the Eevees while farming exp.
@@valentinblue1952 Vaporeon, Jolteon and Flareon. You evolve them randomly, so there's no good way to get them unless you're hoarding a lot of shiny Eevees.
@@valentinblue1952 Don't know how to explain it any other way... The name trick only works once. The OG trio evolves randomly. Thefore to get the OG trio shiny, you'll have to evolve shiny Eevees until you get lucky. Shiny eevees are hard to come by. Hence, the name trick can skip you all the RNG trouble. On the other hand, for level 42 you only need normal Eevees, which you can find easily. So it makes sense to RNG normal eevees, instead of wasting the name trick. This whole thing only applies if you care about collecting shinies, and only regarding the OG trio, since you can manipulate conditions to get the rest of Eevees, you don't need the name trick to get those guaranteed.
Literally guyssss smh make pvp more enjoyable for EVERYONE not just the ‘good’ pvp players that use the meta constantly. I always try to stay away from the meta but still use good Pokémon like alolan muk, azumarill, and altaria. Sometimes I use other Pokémon like steelix, arbok, exeggutor, etc but I win less so I have to use the mukazumaltaria team 🙄
My cousin started playing Pokémon go for to months ago and they still throw the ball straight, like how do you even do that. I tried it once today just to try it and it was actually kinda hard when you’re used to throw curveballs.
It's easy if you got a razz berry but pokemon that move around a lot that you have a hard time catching curveball is better even if you do not know about the bonus to catching. Hard for new players to do curveball on small pokemon so they just do basic straight throw.
*Another big mistake is transferring shadow Pokémon without purifying them. If your going to transfer it anyway might as well purify it to earn that platinum medal*
I'm not made of candy, nova! Jk, I usually transfer when I can (hello alolan rattata), but sometimes I need those candies and it's just not worth it to throw 3 of them away to get one back. I'm not in endgame at all though, so I'm in no position to work towards platinums.
4:53 The name trick is usefull for the first 3 Eeveelutions. Flareon, Jolteon and Vaporeon are the only 3 where you need to roll the dice. The other Eeveelutions can be targeted. If you want one of those three with perfect IV for PvP for example or you just want to collect every shiny Eeveelution, then safe the name trick.
anything other than vaporeon, flareon, and jolteon are not achievable by randomly rolling. Glaceon while evolving eevee in an icy lure, Leafeon in a mossy lure, Umbreon by walking 10km with your eevee and then evolving at night, Espeon walking 10km with eevee but hitting evolve during the day, and I'm not positive on how the fairy one works.@@taylenepalmer9119
i have friend that just started playing last month and absolutely loves the Eevee family and there first goal is to get them all. It works I guess to get a descent pokemon of each typing that is usefull but not great.
Tell them to wait untill level 41 and keep collecting good IV eevees because level 42 promotion requires to evolve eevee into all of his evolutions. I used up all the naming tricks already and now it's a pain to evolve them without it.
@@Ankit-rk4hq I don't think the name trick should be wasted on lvl 42. You get stuck farming exp anyway, more than enough time to get the Eevees, and you can start working on their conditions/candies at any point before 42 and evolve once you get there. It's much more of a pain to get the original trio on shiny eevees. The rest of the eevees all have conditions which aren't really that hard to fullfill so it doesn't really matter if you use it on lvl 42 or shinies/hundos.
The thing about curve ball throws is so true! I had the same experience with it like when I started reading Manga a very long time ago. I couldn't understand how they could read something in complete opposite direction. But then I got used to it and had a small problem when going back to the "normal" direction of reading. When the game released, I was like; "How can people throw curve balls? Seems stupid and a little harder. Why not just throw straight?". Less than a month after the game was released, I started throwing curves and is now also unable to throw straight. In fact, whenever I've tried, it for whatever reason curves anyway, lmao!
Right??? Not to mention that I used to think it would make the throw more accurate if I'm throwing it straight and kept thinking I would never be able to get as many great or even remotely close to getting an excellent throw...but here's me now throwing nothing but curve balls and getting maybe like 30 or 40 great curve ball throws in a row xD and even as much as 4 excellent curve ball throws in a row. That's probably something I would have never imagined even possible back when I was a newbie. xD
I ain’t gonna lie, that last tip was a shocker for me. I’ve been playing the game for years and somehow didn’t know shiny legends have a guaranteed catch rate lmaooo
like above said, you lose the radar when you defeat him. but, atleast for a while, if you for some reason (make the dumb mistake of not having room for more pokemon for example) have to leave the ballon before you catch his pokemon he will just take off leaving you with nothing. Good bye shadow Latias, nice not knowing ya! same goes with the leaders, they seem to just zoom away unlike grunts whose defeated balloons will hang around for a bit. this letts you go back and rescue that garbage ratata that didn't seem worth rescuing 5 minutes ago. this isn't really a huge noob thing tho imo. just remember to have space for new mons and make sure you have a solid connection when you beat him.
You're right that certain Pokemon are always garbage, but you really are only half right. Most Pokemon can have a wide range of stats. That's why you should should appraise every catch to find which ones to keep.
One day i saw a galarian articuno ,and it spawned near an arena, when i saw it i cliked it but the game instead opened the arena so i tried to clik again at the galarian articuno and still it went into the arena and after that it dispawned and i lost it 😢😢
Fun tip: another way to get glaceon, jolteon or leaf on is to use the ice lure for glaceon the electric lure for jolteon and for leafeon use the mossy lure
I used to not check my Pokemon for 4⭐ I remember once I got a 4 star Pidgeotto I should have put it in a tag or something but I did a mass transfer and I had a lot of Pidgeotto my Honda was the victim
The Eevee name trick got me good. I have this one research quest to evolve an Eevee into an Umbreon at night and I don't have the Eevee I used from the quest because I'm an idiot and didn't know about the alternative way to evolve into Umbreon being walk 10km and evolve at night, I just thought the name trick ALWAYS worked and wasn't just a one-time thing. Most players that have played for even around a year don't even know about this from my experience asking friends and family about it, they should really tell you that when you do the Eevee name-trick.
well the name trick is a trick in itself, the game doenst tell you about that either, if you researched to find the name-trick, maybe you should have kept reading to read that its 1 time use only
To be honest, you are better using the name tricks for evolving three hundos to the the kanto forms. The level 42 challenge is pretty easy if you know it's coming - save plenty of eevee, walk two of them 10km and get 70 buddy hearts with another. Also save a mossy and icy lure. Having done that, the task should take about 10 minutes.
You said throw a Nanab and the 100% Darkrai had a golden razz on it when you showed it lol Great tips for noobs and a really informative and enjoyable video. Congrats on that awesome Darkrai catch btw 😯
This is how I lost my Shadow Entei..... apparently I was going too fast during the catch encounter as we just hit the highway. I should of waited until we were stopped, but after the first ball, it shook once and Entei popped out and fled. Niantic luckily gave me another Rocket radar as I showed them a ss of the "Entei Ran Away" showing the battle with giovanni below it. However by the time they gave me a new one Entei had rolled over to a different Shadow... so I believe I ended up wasting in on a Suicune and was pissed. Luckily I saved 3 of them for this last Mewtwo, and had 2 for the previous previous Mewtwo lol, so I am 1 away from having a deadly 6 Shadow Mewtwo army. Going to be a pain in candy to level them all lol, plus the extra candy and dust for secondary move on all of them. Gotta have that Focus blast on at least one to destroy those Blissey and anything normal typing in gyms. 💀☠💀☠
The advice to power up only 3 stars pokemons is a BIG NOOB advice. Shadow pokemons are most relevant than 3 stars Ivs story. You better power up a shadow Tyra than a 100% Ivs tyra non shadow. + You NEVER SEE the difference in a raid beetween a 0% IVs and a 100% Ivs. Especially if you do the raid with 4/5+ people (but making the raid with only 2 people will do NO differences in using a 0% Pokemon lvl X or a 100% pkm same lvl.
Useless tip on the vid is about IV. IV don't change a single thing to your pokemon. When you're at the begining of the game, do not prioritize IV, prioritize Meta Pokemon with good CP.
Well, no. Today I actually lost an encounter with Giovanni, ended up backing out to power up and switch Pokemon. When I finished doing that, the balloon had already left and I noticed my SRR was still equipped. So then I unequipped it, waited till 6 PM this evening, equipped the SRR again, and caught Shadow Latios. I just needed new TM's on my Machamp...lol. But you shouldn't lose your radar even if the balloon leaves. Just unequip it and use it again in 6 hours if you lose and the balloon floats away.
I found a galarian zapdos using the daily incense and was super happy, until it fled. I'm relatively new to the game so I don't really know if there is a strategy to keep wild legendary Pokémon from running away. The best I could do was use golden razz berries and excellent throws with ultra-balls; this did not work, it fled after two attempts, and I was very unhappy. Is there a strategy I'm missing or is it really just luck that it stays in the ball?
Hey! Got here late but you indeed can get legendary Pokemons from the daily incense, they’re galar. Can confirm since a week ago I was walking around my neighborhood with my incense, an Articuno Galar popped up with it and I didn’t catch it, unfortunately.
If you want to make Coins from the GYM use a Pokémon that you are going to trash, meaning after your Pokémon is defeated, use a cheap revive and then transfer it. it means that you don't need to waist your healing on them.
Lol with 49 friends in my list if I don't use the potions then I'm throwing them out lmao... 600 item storage and still isn't enough... I limit it to 20 of each potion and no more than 150 of each ball type... and no more than 15 berry's of each type at a time... I need more coins for item space lol
18 vaporeon. I evolved 18 vaporeon before I finally got the last eeveelution I needed (flareon). So yeah, that name trick would have come in handy ( had I not already wasted all of them). I was fortunate I had enough candy because 18 x 25 = 450 candy trying to get flareon.
If your pokemon is running away you're more than likely on a soft ban. This happens when you reach maximum limit for the day. Shinies are guaranteed catches in key word: raids. In remote raids if you can't catch them; please wait 2 min for a cool down. I use to spoof and you had to wait 2 min before doing anything regardless of the distance. This rule works for remote distance raids a well.
Yeah I just hope sooner than later Lugia comes back and Rayquaza it's been Soo long. We finally got the birds back so I do have hope Rayquaza will be back and also Lugia but could they make a legendary a mega ?
@@JokerP5 I doubt it too we all know how Niantic is when releasing or whatever we still havent got arcues yet. Also does anyone know when solgaleo was last in the game ?
So, I just have to say that I couldn't beat Giovanni for the past month. I lost to him in the balloon daily. I didn't lose my super radar until I finally beat him last week. That part is incorrect.
back before pokemon go got really popular i got my only shadow shiny it was carvanha and i purified it bc the ivs are bad and i didnt know wo now it just pains me to look at lol
I always stagger fight gyms too, so by the time they are looking to berry, I have two lobbies going and take the pokemon out instantly, they always wonder how I do it. I aint saying nothing.... but u can do this will 3 people as well and take the Pokemon out of the gym at full health, they wont even knoe their pokemon needs berried as they wont get a notification when you 3 lobby it. Takes it down from 100% to 0% knocked out of gym.
Yeah the daily and since you can't catch legendaries with cuz once a gallerian Articuno spawned and I didn't I was using a daily incense but it didn't have the symbol or the ring around it and it fled😢
You forgot to mention a strat that I don’t think most people use but it is helpful if you are running low in pokeballs, when you use your daily insense and are running low on regular pokeballs (I believe under 5-10) the daily insense will grant you 30 regular pokeballs. But please note to use this later in the day if you aren’t sure if you are going to go somewhere because you don’t want to waste your daily insense for balls and then get no Pokémon. So I recommend only using this when you are low on balls but if you are going on a walk then wait till then to get the balls. (I hope this helped someone out) Edit: forgot to ask if I should evolve my nundo deino that I caught a while back
I don't really agree to the leveling up point. You mention how important it is to level up the correct pokemon and don't waste stardust on bad ones, but than you make it look like that 98% and Hundos are the only thing to go for, while IVs are one of the less important things in the whole game. The difference between a 100% and let's say 85% Pokemon is what exactly? 5 attack/defense less? People did the math and the difference between the stats is so unbelievably minimal, it basically doesn't matter at all.
don't forget to the tip. do not purify shadow pokemon. IV's arent as important as the 20% bonus shadow pokemon get. hundo only do around 4-5% more damage than a 0 IV pokemon. So it's never worth purifying a pokemon and losing that 20% bonus.
My son, girlfriend, and I found a gym in the middle of no where...... we are day 50 of being on the gym no coins to gather and my slow king is stuck in the desolate place :D
Wish I knew this stuff like... 7 years ago when I first started playing. But since I don't give a rip about PvP and play very casually, it shouldn't hurt anything anyway. But it IS good to know! So, thank you. Just found your videos, and they've already been a huge help.
I'm so much of a noob that I don't even understand why I would do the noob thing in the first place. I just go around catching pokemon and then fighting team rocket when i see them.
I think the most noob thing what litterly hurts the most is, when you trade not a tradeworth Pokémon with someone (i traded once and it was a pidgey), so i wasted one of five guarantueed lucky trades. Cant imagine when somone used all of them for not shiny, legendary etc. pokemons.. 💀

Omg same I’m only missing galarian zapados out of the three legendary birds
@@Angie_xxx I still haven't run into one, again! 😭
Damn! Wish i had known this...wasted vaporeon already! Tsk...tsk...
Shiny OG Trio?
@@valentinblue1952 Vaporeon, Jolteon and Flareon. You evolve them randomly, so there's no good way to get them unless you're hoarding a lot of shiny Eevees.
@@Triattt I dont See what this Has to do with shinys
I've gotten the galarian Moltres and Zapdos TWICE, but i haven't caught any😭
All three fleeded 💀

Kinda sucks I gotta follow a meta. I just wanna use my favorite ones but I've been getting stomped 😔
Been feelin this since i was a small child lol it really sucks that to this day they havent worked this out better for ANY pokemon game
I tried it once today just to try it and it was actually kinda hard when you’re used to throw curveballs.
for real ..I threw one by accident the other day and it fricking MISSED 😵💫🤨😆 I couldn't believe it
It's easy if you got a razz berry but pokemon that move around a lot that you have a hard time catching curveball is better even if you do not know about the bonus to catching.
Hard for new players to do curveball on small pokemon so they just do basic straight throw.
Been playing for maybe two months now, and a lot of these tips were helpful.
7:48 OMG 100%IV CATCH RATE lol
*Another big mistake is transferring shadow Pokémon without purifying them. If your going to transfer it anyway might as well purify it to earn that platinum medal*
I'm not made of candy, nova! Jk, I usually transfer when I can (hello alolan rattata), but sometimes I need those candies and it's just not worth it to throw 3 of them away to get one back. I'm not in endgame at all though, so I'm in no position to work towards platinums.
yes but youre wasting the stardust
Hopefully can find enough shadow starly and zubat to get the medal (1000 stardust to purify)
I had the first one happen to me, it glitched. I contacted niantic and they helped me and I got another try! Never doing that again!
Wait. Those three are you most 3 common when I randomly roll.
I had to use names to get the other evolutions.
anything other than vaporeon, flareon, and jolteon are not achievable by randomly rolling.
Oh wait, he already told it in the video😅
Guess I'm one of those noobs he spoke about 💀
@@Ankit-rk4hq I don't think the name trick should be wasted on lvl 42.
Name trick on eevee is stupid because getting good iv eevee is rare enough that you got time to do the evolution so no need to rush them.
Keep several pokemons that you would like to transfer. Use them in gym and transfer them after they are back with coins. Save your revive...
genius!
Yes that’s true like I can’t even throw straight bc I always throw a curve ball on the right side from the screen and use the fast catch method
That's probably something I would have never imagined even possible back when I was a newbie. xD

This is the sexiest nerdiest thing I’ve ever red.
I ain’t gonna lie, that last tip was a shocker for me. I’ve been playing the game for years and somehow didn’t know shiny legends have a guaranteed catch rate lmaooo
Lollll
Same, I don't blame you because it isn't posted or talked about anywhere that commonly.
Do you guys ever get really excited because you catch the legendary on the first ball without knowing the catch rate?
Shiny anything is guaranteed. I always use Pinap Berries on them.
I’m confused, I lost to Giovanni, but I kept my radar until I finally beat him, I never lost my super radar
You only lose your super rocket radar once you win against him
This guy is noob, he doesnt know what hes talking about
like above said, you lose the radar when you defeat him. but, atleast for a while, if you for some reason (make the dumb mistake of not having room for more pokemon for example) have to leave the ballon before you catch his pokemon he will just take off leaving you with nothing.
@@watchingpaintdry__3832 where is above ?
You're right that certain Pokemon are always garbage, but you really are only half right. Most Pokemon can have a wide range of stats. That's why you should should appraise every catch to find which ones to keep.
I started just leaving my low cp shinies at gyms even my 1 stat ones and stuff they take rhe same amout of attacks to take out as high level cps
One day i saw a galarian articuno ,and it spawned near an arena, when i saw it i cliked it but the game instead opened the arena so i tried to clik again at the galarian articuno and still it went into the arena and after that it dispawned and i lost it 😢😢
With eevee i had to evolve 20+ just to get one of the main 3, i used the nametrick to get the right shiny evolution i wanted long time before
Fun tip: another way to get glaceon, jolteon or leaf on is to use the ice lure for glaceon the electric lure for jolteon and for leafeon use the mossy lure
I can guarantee you i have accidentally transferred a 4⭐️😅
I used to not check my Pokemon for 4⭐ I remember once I got a 4 star Pidgeotto I should have put it in a tag or something but I did a mass transfer and I had a lot of Pidgeotto my Honda was the victim

How long does you Pokémon need to be in a gym until you have 50 coins?
Thank you.
Most players that have played for even around a year don't even know about this from my experience asking friends and family about it, they should really tell you that when you do the Eevee name-trick.
well the name trick is a trick in itself, the game doenst tell you about that either, if you researched to find the name-trick, maybe you should have kept reading to read that its 1 time use only
Yeah... ive got a pokemon thats been stuck in a gym for over a year now lmao.
Today I've finally found galarian articuno...
and it ran away instantly :(

Same, but I found Moltres
…Pain :d
Seen it 4 times now and still can't catch it 😂
Yeah, they have a super hard catch rate, and a high chance of fleeing
SAME
Damn I didn’t know that you have to evolve eevee to its evolutions at level 42. I already used the name tricks 🥺🥺
And he called umbreon non meta like bruh. 😑
Now you have to walk 10km with eevee has your buddy to use the name trick again
most of us did, I used them before level 42 even existed
Same did it before that level came out nice...I'm about to hit 40 as well after taking a break rip

About having transferred Hundo in the past -- we can look at your Hundo Dex. Theres prolly one or two you've transferred. 😢
the prioritizing one is me. I didnt know abt ivs until quite recently so i upgraded/evolved bad iv pokemon and might have transfered away 3 stars
I encountered the new zapdos and articuno in a row today on the new insense, both fleed lmao
Especially if you do the raid with 4/5+ people (but making the raid with only 2 people will do NO differences in using a 0% Pokemon lvl X or a 100% pkm same lvl.
i laugh every time i see someone brag about how they caught their shiny legendary on the first ball haha
Unless it is from pvp of the wild
One time I got all three, in the daily incense, I followed the same instructions. Excellent throw, ultra ball, and gold raspberry none were caught
So what happens after a raid if I run out of balls on a shiny legendary? They'll still fight back and bat the ball away right?
Useless tip on the vid is about IV. IV don't change a single thing to your pokemon. When you're at the begining of the game, do not prioritize IV, prioritize Meta Pokemon with good CP.

Ya I never lost a SRR if you don’t beat him you won’t lose it but if you beat him the balloon can time out and lose it
I found a galarian zapdos using the daily incense and was super happy, until it fled.
They have like a 95% chance to run if you don't get it first try so it's not really you. That's just how they are.
Same! It bolted after the first throw, the stinky butt! Never seen another of the birds since.
@@JessRansdellSmith That's annoying! Since they are so rare to encounter in the first place, I feel like the catch rate should be higher.

Making the lures only work if you're walking was the dumbest thing Niantic has ever done.

(I hope this helped someone out)
Edit: forgot to ask if I should evolve my nundo deino that I caught a while back
THANK YOU SO MUCH THIS HELPED ME ALOT!
All I do is put Chansey and Blissey in gyms
So it's never worth purifying a pokemon and losing that 20% bonus.
what about shadow pokemon? what iv rating is good?
Please don't make us think of all the pokemon transferred when we couldn't tell their IVs, not the dark times.
