Ahaha thanks so much @blackbelt2000! Sometimes it's hard to edit these moments in, but I just accept the embarrassment so I can show the surroundings at least! 🤣
Definitely lucky to find some of these spots when adventuring around in Korea @Mudskipper9876! There are so many things to see for Korea's size as well!
I hadn't heard of it either Mike! Just saw the giant 태극기 and figured I need to see what's over there, and the memorial was quite huge, so it was definitely worth checking out. Hope you're doing well!
Thanks a lot for watching @someusername789! It's definitely an interesting bike path to check out, and it's really accessible since it's so close to Seoul!
Hey Matthew, I am David from Vancouver. I just met your uncle in law in Taxi. I am visiting Seoul now and going back to Van. this weekend . 구독 했어요..화이팅 !!! Hope you to hit million subscribers soon !!!
Hello David, haha I guess my 이모부 was doing a bit of promotion for us eh! Thanks so much for subscribing and for the kind message! Hope you have a wonderful time in Korea!
I was kinda expecting you to incorporate the sound bit and pose of Link holding a Tri-Force fragment (after completing a dungeon) at the monument site :) Great conclusion to another wonderful series and congratulations! Thanks for taking us along with you!
Another great video, thanks for the update. Suggestion, you may want to invest in some Schwalbe Marathon tires, they have never let me down. Also be careful with that particular solar charger I had the same but lost a few battery banks from the velcro failing, I switched over to a Sunjack solar panel that has a zipper pouch instead. Keep on keeping on and good luck with the major transition for you and your wife. Best of luck to you both!
i ride my bike here last sunday, and it was my 2nd time going to the boundary of north and south.. there was a 2nd tunnel goiing to nothe korea but you have to present your passport
Thanks so much Alex! I'm really curious if they will make the entire path paved to link up to the East Coast Bike Path as well. Right now I know it's just for mountain bikes, so it sounds like it's better for people going on day trips and what not. Still want to check it out someday!
@@lostthenfound interesting…. Is the rest of the trail like twisty single track mountain bike trails going up and down the mountains or gently rolling gravel tracks??🤔
@ALEX-cs6vo I'm not too sure to be honest, as there is almost no information available online. Even on the official website it doesn't even mention them. Hopefully will get some more info soon!
After the end of the nori bike path I kept going north and reached Cheorwon and the White Horse Battle Hill. I did it in August 2021making a loop and reaching subway line 1 at Soyosan station (At the time Yeoncheon station was closed., I think, because of covid? )
Oh okay that's where I ended up too @CRJ12345. Was definitely an interesting finish! I think they are going to add more to the path later as well. Also I think Yeoncheon Station is a new expansion on line #1 which makes the bike path a lot more accessible for sure.
Hey, random question as I figured you'd be the best to ask, is there a kind of word or thing to ask at a bike shop here that is the equivalent of a "tune up" in Korean? Just a way to ask them to take a look at the bike and spruce up/clean/fix whatever they find with it? I've gone and asked for specific things before but never to just have them fix up my whole bike.
Hey @Gemini19 great question! You could ask them for "정비" (Jeongbi) which means maintenance, and sometimes I think they just say "튜닝" (Tuning). I would probably say something like this: "안녕하세요. 혹시 제 자전거를 전체적으로 정비해 주시겠어요?" = Hello, is there anyway you could do maintenance on my entire bike? Hope that helps a bit, and good luck!
It's always amazing to witness the gravitas of the nationalistic monuments in South Korea, standing solemn against the backdrop of the world's lowest fertility rate. Once, not so long ago, nationalism intertwined with high birth rates, and those who brought more children into the world were hailed as patriots. Now, as rural areas quietly depopulate, the purpose of these monuments may ring hollow, their grandeur echoing a bygone era.
@eliasorbon450 The country is definitely taking a massive turn when compared to the rapid development and growth after the war for sure. Really curious how the countryside will look like after 10-20 years as the population decreases.

Thanks a lot for watching and for the suggestions @54007batman! I keep my batteries/chargers in a pocket inside my panniers so I'll make sure I won't use the velcro. Really appreciate it!
I will be rooting for you at the next Academy Awards ceremony for "Best Actor Resting In a Camping Porch". Truly a moving performance!💪🏆
Ahaha thanks so much @blackbelt2000! Sometimes it's hard to edit these moments in, but I just accept the embarrassment so I can show the surroundings at least! 🤣
i laughed at the construction ASMR :) Good conclusion to a good series
Ahaha had to throw it in there as it's one of the things that's impossible not to hear in Korea! Thanks so much for watching @BasicStealthcamping!
Great show. Thank you for the bicycle tour. Regards
Thanks so much for watching and commenting Howard! Hope you have an excellent week!
You show some amazing scenery, especially with the Korean flags and the monument at the end.
Definitely lucky to find some of these spots when adventuring around in Korea @Mudskipper9876! There are so many things to see for Korea's size as well!
I'd never heard of the Battle of White Horse Hill. Thanks!

Great video 😊

Oh that's interesting @solarboyngsouthkorya78! Would love to go up and explore more of the border too. Thanks for the information!
Great stuff Matt !
Hopefully they can finish a proper path to link up with the East Coast Trail someday soon…

Nice work here... I can guess what this transition is...
Thanks a lot @aletheia3! Curious what you think it is! 😁 We still have a while (late summer) before it happens though.
It's either a baby or a new apartment. Most likely a baby.
@Mudskipper9876 interesting guesses! We shall see! 😁
How long did the metro ride to the downtown Seoul take? And how much cost? Thanks for the wonderful video
Thanks so much for watching @peacew6! The metro was about 1 hour 40 minutes, and it costed 2,500 KRW ($1.84 USD)
