Amazing review as always. I'lll check this bib shorts later to compare it to my regular bib shorts, but at first sign, I am impressed with everything good you said about it. Thank you for sharing it with us.
Right on Luis! I'll be curious to see what you think if you buy them. I know you put down a lot of tough miles, so if they can hold up on your rides I know they are good.
C’mon man!!! After I Just ordered two new MAAP pro kits and a ASSOS. LOL. Definitely going to order a few of these for my indoor rides. Great review thanks for sharing.
@@TrailSage will do. They were out of stock in my size last night. Will check again today. Could get 6-7 for the price of one that’s insane. I usually don’t kit indoors for anything under 90mins but these may change that.
Thanks for doing this review, Sage! I’m actually in the market for some new bibs as I need to incorporate more cross training into my running. Definitely giving these a try! 👍 And always enjoy the outtakes, too funny!
Great video keep it up. Baleaf has good products i use their thermal shirts for work working out side in the winter. I purchased their padded shorts a 2 pack for about 40 dollars on amazon. Helped me break the 15 mile wall i kept hitting getting sore on my saddle.
Great review as always Sage! I usually pick my bibs up from the Decathlon and as they change the materials slightly season to season I have found them to be a bit hit and miss. And there is very little that will ruin a ride quite as fast as having your bibs try to saw your legs off during a ride... NOT pleasant... These deffo look like they could be worth a try though! :D
I'm so glad I stumbled across this video. Even though I was appalled by the price, I recently bit the bullet and bought my first pair of bibs. It's a well known brand. I want a second pair and I'm looking for a more affordable option. It's interesting that you wear a pair of board shorts over your bibs as I was thinking about doing the same. What board shorts do you wear?
Give these a shot Mike and let me know what you think. As for the board shorts, I have several dif brands that I wear. My two favorite right now are Rip Curl and Volcom.
Sweet video Sage not a bib guy myself but perfectly detailed for anyone looking for one. Side note was that the rocky ridge rock climb in the bloopers?
Great review Sage. Baleaf sounds like a good one to try for me since still using shorts only. I use Chamois butter in running and cycling as well. It is excellent for the price compared to others. Chris Horner the cycling pro uses Noxema which I have tried. It works and also will clean you. It is interesting feeling.
I bought a pair of Baleaf shorts just for Zwifting, but now they’re the pair I use for mountain biking. I still use my Black Bibs (which are also only $40 for a high quality item) for road biking.
Oooo…you may have sold me on these Sage! I’ve added these to my cart several times, just never pulled the trigger. I have a couple pairs of Baleaf & Vilano padded underwear that I’ll wear on longer mtb rides & they’re decent, but nothing beats the functionality of bibbs. I'd like to try 'em on some longer road rides too. Thanks for the review! EDIT: Ordered a pair! 🤣 For $40 it's hard to go wrong...
I just tried the Amazon link, you're right. Here is a link to their website www.baleaf.com/products/baleaf-mens-4d-chamois-padded-mesh-panels-cycling-bib-shorts-solid-color?variant=40326884655285 LMK if that works.
That size chart is wild… how many people in the 6’-6’1” range would be 170-185 lbs with a 38”-40” waist When I had a 38” waist at 5’11 I was 255… I have no clue what to pick
I totally understand. Getting the correct sizing, and finding something with minimal padding will help. I would suggest not getting these bibs and instead, head to your local bike shop and try a few on.
These Baleaf bibs look better than the ones I bought several years ago, but nobody ever covers big height. I've found if you're taller than a child these Chinese bibs tend to run too short. Don't waste your money and get some Pearl Izumi or Voler bibs.
Excellent point Alan. Sizing is pretty tricky to nail down. I'm sorry to hear you had such a bad experience with inexpensive bibs. Regardless, thank you for watching and providing your feedback.
The problem with those thick silicone pads is that perspiration is harmful. If you do short or MTB rides you won't notice it, but if your rides are long-distance road ones, your lower area will accumulate a lot of sweat, proliferation of bacteria and, as a result, boils. Many people make the mistake of looking for a thick and fluffy pad possible. The chamois should be a medium size and look for a ventilated fabric with carbon or graphene threads that help limit bacterial growth. Your sit bones are more than prepared to provide you with comfort as long as your posture is correct and the saddle is appropriate. A fat chamois will not solve this. Try the GOBIK culottes.
Thanks for the advice and feedback Jose. In addition to mountain biking I do at least 2 to 3 road rides a week and have not noticed an issue, but I'll certainly keep an eye out for those concerns.
Expensive bibs are a scam. Your just paying for pro rider endorsement deals. May favourite bibs cost me £6 from aldi at the end of a cycling promotion and they were selling everything off cheap with damaged packaging
Oh man, I wish I was getting paid, unfortunately I don't think I'm big enough for companies to give two sh*ts about me, lol. But regardless, if I were ever to miraculously get endorsed, paid, sponsored, etc. please know I will always give you my honest opinion. Thanks for the comment.
I suppose I just get excited when I find something I like. I wish I was getting paid, lol. Thank you for the feedback, I will try to do better in my next review.

Great video Sage, those pants look like an awesome investment. Thanks for the video and keep up the good work mate. Ride on🤙
Thanks Christoph. Do you wear bibs when you ride?

Am I supposed to wear normal shorts over my bike shorts?
No, you do what makes you comfortable. My personal preference when mountain biking is to wear shorts over my bibs.
My major problem is find shorts which keeps in place and doesn't feel like diaper.
