This is definitely high class living and not for the average Ghanaian whose income is about 2,000-5,000 GHC working in the formal sectors. No wonder many are into starting multiple side gigs. I live in USA and I don’t even spend $2,000 on rent per month. That’s just too much for housing in Ghana. It’s best to build your own all the same.
Thanks Rush...this is very helpful even to the point of understanding that those of us returning need to pay those working for us a fair days pay. Great job once more
This is interesting. I have a bachelor’s degree and work at a hospital here in Ghana, however my colleagues and I with the same qualification ( nurses, midwifes, nutritionist, radiologist, etc ) earn about 3000-4000 cedis a month. So that means we are also below the middle class or even lower. This is hitting me hard, I feel so sad right now.
But until you saw this video, what’s your living conditions like? Did you really feel poor? The grass is not always as green as you think on the other side oooo
I like what ur doing you gave real-time information on the cost of living in ghana ,other youtuber they just do not give real life living thanks and keep on giving realistic living in ghana by the way am from the Bronx white plains road. Keep giving real life contents.
Why is the cost of living so high people barely make it like $60 a month though 😮oh woo it most so hard on our people little we give to help anyone in situation will go far thanks Rush for the alerts you are indeed helping us out here to get prepare before coming for Ghana like it use to be GOD bless you
Thank you. The pay and the cost of living makes no sense! Believe me with these prices. Especially if you are coming from the western world. Your rent alone will be around $200-700.
Thank you for this info I’m planning on starting my move to Ghana this will help me greatly if you know any good links or ideas that I should follow to make it a successful I would really appreciate it
Thanks. It is 100% solar during the day and 60% when the sun goes down. However, the battery usually dies around 11-12 at night and that is when I use Ghana electricity. Will add more batteries later on to go completely off grid.
Retired U.S. Army here. I know this video is a year old but what has changed? I make about $2200 usd a month from my pension. Is that enough to survive in Accra living in a 1 to 2 bedroom apartment?
I do not know much about the healthcare system here. All Ghanaians are pretty much covered in a way but you have to pay out of pocket for health! For the most part. I know they do have insurance here. I do not know how reliable it is.
Hello sir ,I am a sierra Leonean living in Canada , your videos have inspired me to join the military, cause I don't want to do student loans so yeah, would recommend someone to join the military at the same time going to college...? I really do need your advice on this
people take some courses while in the military, but you cannot be a full time student. I had to do the navy first then college afterwards. You could join the reserves and go to school but the benefits isn’t the same.
@@rushasare it appears the average cost of living ( both high and middle class) per month is approximately $2,000 USD. That seems high for Ghana and not much difference than that of the US
My contractor. Solar and all the construction work is done by people who are now associated with Akkadian, if you would like to do that , kindly email me at rush@rushasare.com at anytime.
There’s a class below the lower class. Mostly live on credit just like most people in the west. Yes there’s the unconventional credit system in Ghana. People borrow just like you’re credit card and pay month by month. We all know this growing up.
Most rent is paid 1-2 years ahead. The biggest expenditure. Most have access to food from their own or family farms or should if they don’t. Let’s parent opportunity to help people live well without the high dependence on the Industrial Labour machine. In Ghana access to land is so damn easy.

With this breakdown most Ghanaians are poor oooo 😂. I always say that the cost of living in this 3rd world country called Ghana 🇬🇭 is ridiculous but because these people are blinded by partisan politics they bash me.
So what do you do for a living? Who is your audience? Are you paid in US currency? Is the US dollar the medium of exchange for goods and services transactions in Ghana now?
No, they spend cedis here. I use dollars because the cedis fluctuates a lot and some people do not understand it very well. My audience are people in US,UK, Germany and the west in general. I do a lot of stuff and get paid in dollars and cedis with my Ghana businesses. I hope these answers satisfied you.

Accra is crazy and makes no sense. Especially with rent.
You don't spend $2,000 on rent because of the state and area you live. Remember some spend more than what you spend on rent
Practical breakdown. thanks Rush

You didn't add school fees for people with kids.
Absolutely right , I do not know much about that side. This is just for a husband and wife.
Great presentation. What area are you in and How is traffic in your area?
Tema Community 25 area. Traffic gets bad but they are doubling the Tema-Akosombo road and that should solve all the issues.
