    Awesome, thank you!
    last time I tried to do this route in reverse, Komoot tried to kill me and sent me through very bike unfriendly parts of downtown Bellevue! (Normally Google Maps is trying to kill me, not usually Komoot)

      No problem. These videos are quick for me to put up so if it even helps one person that's enough

    Three years ago I brought my bike with me from San Diego. I started in Wallingford from my daughter's house riding the Lake Washington loop after passing the 520 freeway I was totally confused how to get to the I90 bridge. I ended riding on Bellevue Way and almost got on the I90 freeway 😨. Now I know a way safer route through Bellevue.......thanks for the great ride videos, definitely will be using them whenever I'm riding in Seattle. Go Eliel Factory Team!

    I usually go down 118th Ave Southeast along Mercer Slough Park and take a right under I-90 on the trail that takes you across the slough to Enatai Beach Park. I'll give this route a try next time.

      That definitely works too but if you're going from the 520, this will save you some distance/elevation for sure! I Take that route all the time to go home in South Bellevue

    I love this format of video, great work. This definitely gets more people out on bikes. it can be daunting to go out and try a new route in a city, cheers! I hope you run into you out there!

    The first 15 minutes where you talk about having a narrow shoulder and cars, that is my everyday kind of riding here in Mill Creek. You definitely get used to it. If I ever get too confident, I will no doubt have a close call with a car to remind me to be careful.

      Yeah, I feel like I have too high a tolerance as well. All it takes is one errant car so I personally think picking the right times to ride as well as my radar are key to give me signals

    Lake Washington Blvd isn't nearly as bad as you've shown. We typically ride it the morning, and there is very little traffic. Taking 101st Ave, then over Kilarney, then zig-zagging through Beaux Arts is a much more pleasant and senic way. That route would be worth a video. Alternaively, you can avoid the climb by taking 102nd Ave to 6th St, to Bellevue Way to 104th Ave. Bellevue Way is kind of sketchy, but it's only a few blocks, and there is a ridable sidewalk.

    This looks like a great route. I’m going to try it.
    Does Medina have its own DOT? Maybe we can petition for some protected bike lanes. 😂

      Haha I think that's the least of their priorities. It's interesting to have so many mini rich cities right west of Bellevue

      @@BestSideCycling thanks for stopping at Meydenbauer Beach Park. I have memories of that place and it looks unrecognizable now!

    As you said, there is no best way. But I prefer to head south at 101st Ave from LW Blvd. I'm happy to trade more hills for less traffic.

      Haha my biggest gripe about the Kilarney area is all the speed bumps downhill

    What do you think about following 520 until Northup/108th and then taking 112th -> 114th thru DT Bellevue, then 118th thru Mercer Slough onto I-90? That's the route I usually take when I do a 520 -> 90 loop thru Bellevue.

    • @BestSideCycling
      @BestSideCycling  6 месяцев назад

      Nothing wrong with that! It's how I would ride to connect further lake Washington but if your destination is I90 that route actually adds 1.5 miles and also 150 feet of elevation which is a good bit. Those climbs are noticeable!
