My quilting friend one day said she quilts by the 15-45 method. She explained, “I set the timer for 45 minutes of sewing, then when it goes off I do 15 minutes of housework)emptying dishwasher, folding laundry, etc). Then I feel good because by the end of the day I get a lot of sewing done and some housework done too!”❤

Love the nice weekend 'work off'. I've sewn for so many years, fashion first and piecing for 30. I've used the 10 20 30 method to get things done since our dearly departed friend Nancy Z shared the process over 30 yrs ago. I truly do need to word up or excel up? a printable listing page, as so very often my head turns to something else, even while I'm telling myself NO! Get this finished. OMG we are only human. BTW Quilted will keep them nicely together after many washings.

My mind seems to never want to shut down thinking about things to make, so lists help me stay focused. When I started having so many WIPs in different stages, I started putting them in One Note on my Ipad. I refer to it almost every day when I am sewing. It is not as detailed as your list. I may have to revise my ways. I put in it, the fabric I have and the fabric I need to complete projects as well as how many strips, or how much batting. I also mark if I have the items I need so if I am trying to complete something on my list, I skip the ones that need something in order to complete. My list of WIPs to quilt is way too long. I really must take a weekend and knock them out. :)

I havent tried wool batting, but have a sample that is so soft - I'm longing to try some! I have to finish piecing my bee quilt top first, yes, another wip sitting, waiting for some attention! I had better make a list!🙂

Watched replay. You got alot accomplished! I’m going to try your method of using a timer. Your chicken timers are so cute . I think the acorn potholders are nice quilted and un quilted and your poppins bag turned out fantastic. I’m sure it’ll be an item of envy at retreat. Have fun and safe travels. I would be keeping it with me under the seat.

The quilting is darling but favor less work. That pot holder is also darling.

I'm also wondering if there's a way to make those beautiful cuffed pillowcases housewife-style, with the fold in pocket at the end to keep everything tucked in place?

I like the potholders either way. Do they have some sort of insulate in them. Also, although I have made pillowcases, I haven’t used the technique you described. I wish you would have shown how to do it rather than just saying you have all done this and moving on. Nice video.

Di, your lists look like mine. Every time I can check off something I feel a little bit lighter. Sometimes, for a variety of reasons, a project gets set aside, so I put the next step on my updated list, even if it’s squaring up the HSTs or snipping the dog ears.
Ah, the sound of satisfaction. lol 😂

Do you have advice for sewing cotton to silk sashing (wedding gown remnants 😉)?
Acorns are darling! I think you should quilt them

I would think to serge the silk edges to prevent fraying then use a lot of pins. Thanks, I will quilt them. 👍🏼😊♥️🐥

@@sisterchicksquilting my silk wedding gown sashing strips are 1-1/2” wide-do you still recommend that I zigzag/surge the edges?
