Great video and tip! I find the toughest part about being the family photographer is not being in most (if not any) of the shots. Definitely gonna try this out for the holidays!
Wow. Reggie! This will come in soooo handy. I'll be heading out for the holidays and seeing my daughters and grandkids and getting a group photo with all of has always been a challenge. eNver, ever thought use the interval timer. Thank you thank you so much!!! happy holidays to you and your lovely family!!
The app works, but I find this allows me to not have to worry about something in my hand or pocket. It’s the closest one can be “present” for a self portrait.
Hi, thanks for the tips in the setup. I was looking for a good way to setup for self portrait. Just a note, the focus shall be already set at around the right distance, if it is too much out of focus at the beginning of the process the camera cannot get the eyes (I have an X-T5) and the full series is not in focus. Once done then it goes smoothly. Thanks again 👍🏻
Thanks so much. This is the demo I've been waiting for..it's super helpful.I appreciate you for taking the time and letting everyone know your process..thanks again all the best to you and your family..
@Reggiebphoto curious for documenting family do you prefer xt5 or xs20? I'm coming from xt2 not sure about flipping screen.plus, I'm used to xt build.like to hear your thoughts?
Hey Reggie,I usually dont use flash for just taking family photos, but this tip is super helpful, can you let me know what flash you use? I think you mention godox, can you let me know what model you use or what you recommend?, Id like to try it out. especially for indoors.
this is very useful, ive been using timer since forever now and now recently moved to wireless button press. but I realized with timer, I had to run back to try to catch the countdown and when I'm in the frame I get confused on what expression to make. idk the psychology on this but it makes me anxious everytime a timer is counting down. with wireless buttons tho, I noticed I cant make my ideal posture as I'm still holding the button on my hand so my fingers are always in pinch position. i feel like I cant be natural-looking. This seems to be the solution for both of my problems, thankyou so much !!!
Greetings from Sydney, Australia. Really great tip. Will definitely be giving it a go. One question, did you have your Godox Flash mounted on camera or did you have a remote trigger on the hot shoe and the flash off camera? Love all the stuff you do on RUclips and have learn't a lot from you. All the best for the festive season.
This question is off topic from the video. I had a X-S10 but recently sold it because I’ll be getting an X-T5 soon. I really enjoyed using your Reggie’s Portra on the X-S10 and was wondering if you have the same simulation for the X-T5? Thank you for all the tips and tutorials!! They help a lot!
hi Reggie, Ive a question for the X-S20! I noticed that for the X-S20, theres only 4 custom slots on the camera that we can save settings to. Does this mean that we can only save a maximum of 4 custom fujifilm recipes to this camera? As I have saved C1/C2 with 2 difference recipes, and C3/C4 programmed for video. I cant seem to find any other way to save more recipes to this camera. Appreciate if you have any tips to share for this! Thank you!
I truly love my fuji x100v but there app is a dumpster fire compared to olympus/oms. The app is stable and can use the remote on the phone up to 40 feet away with complete control over the camera. Doing our Christmas photos every year I set the timer and review all the photos right there on the phone without having to leave the pose and setup again. Because the wife always wants another shot no matter how good the first one was 😂.
We were doing it that way at first but you could see we were holding a phone or awkwardly hiding the phone and then trying to hit the shutter button on the phone. Using the timer and getting in place with the phone makes it much easier and looks like you had a photographer behind the camera. But I do like some of your other tips.
Absolutely genius
great advice for interval shooting, thanks!

🎉
Another Gem. Thanks for sharing this great tip.
No worries!

Nice!
Super handy, thanks!
Glad it helped!

This is brilliant for selfies
Yup!
Great tip man. Thank you 😊
No problem 👍
Fantastic video, thank you Reggie.
You’re welcome!
Love this definitely going to try this with the family this Christmas
Have fun!
You are amazing Reggie. I LOVE your content and the way you explain verything. Greetings from Spain! Merry Christmas!!
Thanks so much!
Thanks ! I was just about to do this with the app but this is much better way!

@@Reggiebphoto pretty much what i was thinking lol makes it easier to just have the phone out of the pic as well :)
Thanks for the Interval Timer Shooting tip and for all the video....
did you try it out?
Yes it works even with my xt3 👍. I even didn't known that this setting existed. Thanks again
the xt3 is the camera I figured this technique out on
Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for stopping by!

yup, always have some sort of target to pre-focus on (even if it's the floor)
What flash are you using? Great video like always!
Great idea
It works pretty well!

Thanks for the kind words!

I haven’t really used the xs20 enough to have any conclusions
No worries just curious about the next camera.might stick with xt line.
The xt5 is solid. I published my review on that.
Using the interval timer never even occurred to me! Definitely going to do this next time! (This is why i sub to your channel Reggie!)
Glad I could help!

Hi Reggie, congratulations on your work! I have an x-s10 but I can't lock the exposure. can you help me? Thank you!!
Does it work with Rico gr 3? THANKS!
Using Reggie's Portra film sim I hope 😉
Yup
Hey Reggie,, Hope your doing well.. curious would you do the same settings for outdoors?
Yup.
@@Reggiebphoto awesome. thanks for your response. so you don't up the shutter speed more then 160? im guessing you just lower the iso?
New sub❤️❤️❤️
Awesome!! Now to train my dogs to look at the camera without me behind it 😂 thank you Reggie!
Put a treat behind the camera. Or a toy around the lens. I’ve done that for photo shoots with dogs before.
@@Reggiebphoto we'll try with a toy... might end up with some epic drooling 🤤 if we leave a visible treat 😆
@@gurpreetdouglashaha
Great tip! Now I don't have to hide my phone or have it in the shot haha
Precisely!
Thanks a lot ! With my X100V it’s perfect ! But with my A7IV, it’s an other story.. we can’t use AFC with this method…
Aww lol
Can you do this with an xt3 or xt4?
Can you set those to infinity ?
yup

It was on the camera and bounced off the wall behind the camera

Same recipe works. I posted a recipe video this year with many examples from the xt5
@@Reggiebphoto That’s good to know! Thank you for responding!
I have the Sony a 6000, can you help me find the interval mode on it plz?
I can’t help you there. But perhaps you can find the manual online and it’ll list where it is
@@Reggiebphotothank you
I find taking self portraits brutal on xt30... doesmt focus on me at all.
I used these settings on the xt3 which had the same af settings as the xt30. So it should work if you scene has adequate light

My issue with the timer is it’s limited to a few photos. With this method, I can take dozens of photos in sequence.

I’m not quite sure you understand the method I was doing.
